Chapter 7: A Hot Ride

As the week progressed, Friday finally arrived. Rascal was assigned to the office so that he would take down notes for Jonathan as a temporary typist. Rascal did his best trying to get used to the computer. He was mostly a prankster, not an office worker.

“It’s not fair, the humans get to have all the fun” sighed Rascal in his thoughts.

Jonathan kept a watchful eye on Rascal through his main office – as for Ms. Fai, she was leaving her apartment riding on her sweet pink car. Her car stood out since it was so fancy and hi-tech in traffic. People and alien citizens alike mistook her car as a race car.

“My word, where is she heading off to?” asked a woman driver.

“Are they closing the streets for street racing again?” remarked a blue humanoid male alien driver.

Fai’s car was featured on social media, as onlookers took photos of her and her car. She soon zoomed straight towards Ashley Fromm’s house. There Thad was dressed up in a nicer more formal black clothing. He still wore his signature black hoodie, but Thad wanted to look his best.

  “Going out?” asked Matthew.

“I told you my date” replied Thad.

“Whatever, just stay safe” said Matthew.

Even though Matthew was Thad’s guardian, Matthew knew what it was like to have a parent always hovering over your shoulders. Matthew would often remember his mother – Patricia Kidd being the overprotective parent. Numerius the Robo Monk, on the other hand decided to take up that role.

“You better be home before 10 PM young man” said Numerius.

“But tomorrow’s Saturday, I should have fun” said Thad.

“Just let him go, it’s not worth it” said Matthew.

Soon the headlights of Fai’s car were seen – Numerius gazes out of the window and notices Fai’s car.

  “My word!” cried Numerius.

Thad soon opens the door and soon leaves. He then gets into the shotgun seat next to Fai.

  “Ready?” asked Fai.

  “You bet” laughed Thad.

Fai inputted the address to Nettie’s on her cellphone’s map service and soon took off. Numerius shook his head in disbelief that Thad was with such a woman. As Fai drove off, Thad lowered the window, he couldn’t believe the breeze in the air.

  “Ah yes, freedom!” laughed Thad.

“We’ll be there in just about twenty minutes” said Fai, “so Thad, you don’t seem to be the one to like school, right?”

“Nope, not me, I can get good grades but studying just isn’t my thing” said Thad, “what about you gorgeous?”

“Me? I’m studying finance” said Fai, “trying to get more into the Bitcoin industry. My dad De Chen Yong is a stockbroker and my mother Wei Yong is the head of the US Robotics Department as its Director.”

Thad was impressed with Fai’s parents, it was no wonder she could afford such a fancy car because her parents could trust her with money.

“I would love to meet your parents one day” said Thad.

“We’ll see how our date goes first” replied Fai.

Soon Fai arrives at Nettie’s – immediately a large red alien humanoid bouncer going by the name – Stadiel greets them as they leave the car to the valet service.

“Welcome to Nettie’s, I see you’re on time for your reservation” said Stadiel.

“Why does a high level-end restaurant need a bouncer?” asked Thad.

“To keep out those who wish to disturb the clientele” replied Stadiel.

Stadiel soon shows them in, but Stadiel decides to keep a closer eye on Thad feeling he could be a potential wild card.
