Colt reached the edge of the goldmine and saw men pushing mine carts out of the mine filled with rocks glistening with golden specks. He also saw men wearing robes and a mask carrying guns, they were stationed above the mine to look over the workers. He heard a bell ring out which must have symbolized break time. He saw the workers putting down pickaxes and walking toward the end of the camp. That’s when he decided to walk toward the crowd and blend in . He saw men walking into lines in the cafeteria .

  “I’m looking for a friend of mine , one who might know where this came from” said Colt as he held up the greeting card from the mine

  “Everyone has one of those , they gave it to us when we signed up.” Said a worker

  “ well I would like to speak to the man in charge of this operation , I have seen several worker viotions and would like to speak about my review of this pce to your overseer.” Said Colt

  “Oh you must be the inspector we have been told was going to dey our work schedule by asking questions , the boss man is in the office up there.” Said the worker as he pointed to the office looking over the mine.

  Colt made his way up to the office and hesitated before knocking

  “Hello was told the supervisor was here”

  Colt was asked to sit down in the chair opposite the supervisor.

  “So Mr. Colt how can I help you ?” Asked the supervisor

  “Well a man was recently murdered, a butcher, and he had a card for your mine . So I would like to know if you know anything about that.” Asked Colt

  “a lot of men have that card since this is the biggest gold mine in miles , we have authority to kill men on site who are caught stealing .” Said the supervisor

  “Who gave you authority to kill men at the mine?” Said Colt

  “The federal government of course, this nd is federal property “ responded the supervisor

  “I would like to talk to the men who deal out the executions” said Colt

  “Why should I do that , what is your authority?” Said the inspector

  “Don’t you know who I am , I am the deputy of this area, I have the badge to prove it. So unless you want work to be deyed by a federal compint I would recommend you help me find a murderer who could kill more workers and dey mining even further.” Said Colt
