Prologue

Author's Note: The first chapter, the prologue, will be written in third-person POV, but most of the story will be in the MC's POV except when we change to another character's perspective.

A fantasy world is the most common destination for escape fantasies, after all, who wouldn’t dream of going from a life of normality to a world of adventure? More specifically, people had their own favorite piece of fiction, for some they dreamt of going to a wizard school, others wished to become ninjas, and some even wished to become devils.

Ultimately it didn’t matter what the destination was, or if the desire was even there, since this was, after all, just a mere fleeting fantasy.

If, through some miracle, something like this truly ever happened to someone, they would be forced to try to enjoy this miraculous life no matter what. After all, after a life of the mundane, who could settle for the life of a fisherman when they might be a knight, a merchant when they might be an adventurer, or a housewife when they might be queen.

But not everything works out like you might envision it, what would happen to a person if they were completely ordinary in a magical world? In reality such a thing would not matter, sure, you can’t cast magic, but that is not tragic since no one can do it either.

So this brings us to the story of Arthur, a man who died after living a mundane, but fulfilling life and reincarnated as a baby in the West Blue sea of the One Piece world.

It certainly wasn’t his go-to spot for a reincarnation destination, but then again, he was back from the dead and had the chance to live a life as a pirate, going from isnd to isnd having a bst so he didn’t compin.

Things started off rather slowly, being a baby was a tremendous pain for Arthur, unlike some perverts he knew from other stories, he wasn’t getting off from being breastfeed by his mother, though he would admit, only in the confines of his mind, that his mother was quite beautiful.

It was probably one of the first things he noticed from this world, most women were sexy as hell. The hips to waist ratio was beyond the logic of his old world, though again, he wouldn’t compin about the phenomenon, it was anime logic at its finest.

His years as a toddler weren’t any better, though what helped was that the main nguage of the world was a mixture of English and Japanese, though mostly English. Learning it was easy, and this was the first instance where Arthur stood above the other children his age, and it was the first time he was deceived about his potential in this world.

Arthur also took time to train his body, several hours a day in fact. He had never been able to put so much effort into working out in his old world, but the idea that his body could get as strong as someone like Garp or Shanks kept his morale high.

The physical disparity between the other kids started to taper off during his teenage years, suddenly kids who never trained a day in their lives were able to beat him quite easily. It defined all logic, at least the logic he was accustomed to.

He could still fight and beat most of the other kids who never trained, but that should have been a given considering how jacked he had become. He wasn’t a bodybuilder, but his body was defined and toned which gave him a better physique than most other people in his isnd.

Still it didn’t matter, he still lost to a kid a year younger than him with sticks for arms with absolutely no muscle on him. It defied all reason.

But the realization dawned on him at the ripe age of seventeen.

In a world like One Piece it didn’t matter how much muscle you had, it was irrelevant, Luffy could match the strength of characters like Kaido who were a mountain of muscle because they were built different.

  Literally.

Despite being born in the One Piece world, he was nothing more than just a side character in the story. The cast of the series never even visited West Blue so he didn’t have much meta knowledge to rely on. He didn’t even know what year canon would start, but he knew that it wasn’t too far off now.

Perhaps he should have paid more attention to the series, but everything is so much better in hindsight. According to the newspapers dropped off, it was the year 1521, but again, the number meant nothing to him.

He kept an eye out for stories about East Blue captains being taken out or Luffy’s bounty, but aside from that he was rather lost.

Haki was hard to train as well, or rather impossible to train without guidance. He had tried to replicate some of the things he had seen in the show but he had absolutely no success in those endeavors.

Asking around yielded no results either, the isnd didn’t even have a school, so asking about things like haki or devil fruits was a waste of time.

It seemed that his new life might end up being just as normal as his old one, but then one day, he was met with another miracle.

Walking down the local beach, he stumbled upon a strange piece of fruit, it only took him a moment to realize what he was seeing so quicker than what he had ever moved, he fished the floating fruit out of the water and held it up to the sun, observing the swirling pattern on the melon-like fruit.

It was without a doubt, a devil fruit, one of the greatest powers in the world of One Piece, some of which were said to be invincible, others were capable of destroying the world, their power was literally imagination given form.

If his body was not like Luffy’s or Zoro’s then wasn’t this his prime opportunity to close the gap? If he got lucky, he could even get a logia type, those were strong enough to get him to the Grandline, and from there he would need to get a solid grasp haki and then he would be good to go to the New World.

Those goals were still some distance, he knew that, but with the devil fruit in his hand, weren’t those goals ever-so closer?

Throwing caution to the wind, he bit down on the disgusting piece of fruit and nearly gagged as he swallowed the wretched flesh. He considered eating more to make sure that the fruit’s powers would transfer, but the thought was discarded when his body started to shift into a new form.

The change took pce over less than a second, but the resulting form was drastically different to what he had been when he had gotten out of bed a few hours before. His rge hands, calloused with years of training were now small and dainty, his chest, which had been packed with muscles and tanned skin was now repced with a lithe and supple form covered in fair skin.

The rest of his body followed suit, his legs grew longer and feminine, with his body hair receding leaving only smooth fwless skin behind. His face, once that of a modestly handsome boy, now a delicate, and heart-shaped, framed by silken waves of blonde hair that shimmered like golden threads half-way down to his back. His serious strong eyes were now rge, luminous eyes framed by long, dark shes that cast soft shadows on his high cheekbones. A small, upturned nose and gently curved lips that-

  NO!

His hands immediately checked on his symbol of masculinity and he felt the weight of the world shrug off his shoulder when he confirmed that despite what had just happened, he was still a man.

He immediately dropped to his knees when he looked at his reflection on the gentle waves of the sea. He knew that he had just messed up, but the idea refused to take root in his head.

Wasn’t he reincarnated into a fantasy world for a life of adventure? How could a devil fruit that washed up directly to him not be a super awesome power? What even was his power?

He didn’t know. Unlike what he expected, no name came to his mind when he gained his powers, and even if he was asked what devil fruit power he might have he had no guesses.

The femboy-femboy fruit? What a joke.

The people of his vilge didn’t recognize him at first, a devil fruit was a thing of myth to them, but fortunately the mayor was able to convince them that they did indeed exist, and his mother was able to recognize him despite the physical changes.

The boys had ughed at him for weeks afterwards, though perhaps this was expected. The boys of the isnd weren’t exactly mature, and he had been spending most of his life beating them up.

That too was no longer possible.

All the years he had spent training his body had been for nothing as his strength matched his new body. The only soce he had was with the girls, who now protected him from the boys, even to the point of getting into fistfights. It was embarrassing for Arthur to be protected by girls, but it was better than getting beat up.

It wasn’t just the girls his age either, he could sense the stares from the women in the vilge, the ways their eyes lingered on his form when they thought he wasn’t looking. He figured it was a curiosity stemming from the fact that he was a devil fruit eater, after all, some of the men also stared at him.

Then it all went to hell.

News about pirates were common in the world of One Piece, daily occurrences really, but never in their vilge. Arthur hadn’t seen a single pirate ship in seventeen years, so when he saw the bck fgs in the distance, the danger didn’t immediately register.

No one was able to realize the danger until it was too te.

The men tried to fight back but they were no match for the force of over a hundred pirates who made their life plundering and fighting. The men were killed right away, though that wasn’t the case for the women who were dragged back to whatever corner the pirates could find to get some privacy to viote them.

Any who fought back were killed right away.

That was how his mother went, a bde through her chest and she was discarded to the side like she was a piece of trash.

That was also how Arthur survived the massacre.

Several pirates tussled and fought each other as they tried to cim him while believing he was a girl, it wasn’t until the captain came and cimed him that the dispute came to an end, though the burly man was disappointed to learn that Arthur wasn’t a girl but rather a devil fruit user.

The entire crew had ughed at Arthur when they learned this, though Arthur still feared that learning he was a man would not deter some of the savage pirates. Fortunately, the captain had different ideas on what to do with Arthur.

Devil fruit eaters were rare outside of the Grandline, and Arthur’s strange body would interest the nobles, so he was chained and pced in the cargo hold of the ship. He would become a noble’s pything and make the pirates very rich.

Done pilging and raping, the pirate crew left the quiet vilge in high spirits and filled coffers, they sang and drank to successful raid.

But in the world of One Piece there will always be bigger fish in the sea, and so soon the pirate crew found themselves before a giant smile in the sea.

They stood before the Isnd-ship, Thriller Bark, the ship that would one day become the scourge of the Florian Triangle.
