The many components of the battery y sprawled out on the garage workbench in front of her. Magicule storage units, a PCB, and a bunch of wires, each neatly sorted into their own piles.
Nice, seems like my ability to disassemble stuff wasn’t affected by being reincarnated! Either way, all these components are really unique compared to what I worked with in my past life… Even just looking at this basic PCB, I get all sorts of ideas for things to build. Though, most interesting of all…
She stared at a very specific component on the PCB, the general purpose artificial caster. The device is essentially a small computer, made to process and cast simple spells stored in its memory, such as strengthening the bike and protecting the rider.
Though GPACs are only really good for basic, general tasks. If you want some real power for a specialized task…
Norah moved her gnce over to the bike, with a panel below where the battery was missing on the central body of the bike. Inside the compartment, below where the battery was attached, was a cylindrical object with a sturdy chain connecting it to the rear wheel.
If you want an artificial caster to do something very specific, you specialize the artificial caster for that specific task. This cylindrical fel is a high power caster motor, also known as a magic motor. This guy does one thing, and it does it well: it spins.
This component, and the many variations of it, could be found in nearly anything. Cars, bikes, jet engines, washing machines, multi-barrel miniguns, and so on. With the convenience of using an energy source that can automatically charge from magicules in the air, nearly everything that spins in Scandinavia has one of these magicule powered motors hidden inside of it.
Just looking at this stuff is enough to get my inner engineer excited… Though, with my limited budget and tools, I won’t be able to make much… I should probably also reassemble my bike as well. I kinda need it to get to school. Or other pces, for that matter.
Norah moved the battery back on top of the bike and put the side panel back on, pcing the seat on top of the battery to finish reassembling the bike back to all its glory once more.
Well, that was nice. Except for the hefty battery trying to smash itself, and me, into the floor… Ok, now what?
Norah had done all her missing school assignments, and thoroughly inspected her bike. Having done her work, she marched back from the garage, entering her room and turning her PC on before promptly pcing herself in her chair.
Alright. I can only learn so much about magitech by picking stuff apart, so I should probably research things a bit more. Wait…
While looking through her gymnasium’s digital library, she remembered something. Occasionally, some lessons would be held in VR. Not the little computer strapped to your face kind of vr, but the sci-fi-esque Fulldive VR. Virtual Reality where you immerse yourself completely in a digital world, taking control of a virtual avatar as if it was your own body while your real body takes a nap in the real world. In her past life, that kind of VR technology was nothing but far-fetched sci-fi tech, only occasionally popping up in fiction.
Like that one with the skeleton dude who gets himself and his entire MMO base, with NPCs and all, transported to another world. They called the game he got his stuff from a DMMO-RPG, if I recall correctly…
Despite the fantastical nature of fulldive technology, the technological pipe-dream was currently sitting on Norah’s desk in the form of a headset. In this world, or more precisely this alternate version of Earth, fulldive VR is both an actual, mass-produced technology and is in widespread use across the globe and beyond.
I gotta check this thing out! I mean, Nor- I have already tried it a million times, but that doesn’t matter!
Norah got up from her desk, grabbing her headset before flopping onto her bed and donning the headset.
Feels kinda weird having what should be sci-fi technology strapped to my face… Though there are a lot of other weird things that have happened to me in my current situation, so I can’t say I’m that surprised. Anyway, let’s have a look, shall we?
A few seconds after she turned it on, her body began falling asleep as her consciousness was whisked away into a digitally generated space, courtesy of the computer sitting on her desk.

Norah was now sitting on the toilet, staring down at herself. After a 6 hour long FDVR session with equal parts gaming and research, she woke up to nature’s call urging her towards the bathroom. After arriving at the toilet, she promptly decided against attempting to relieve herself while standing, casting away the st few scraps of her former manly pride, and sitting down on the toilet.
Well, I don’t know what I was expecting. The experience was surprisingly… normal. I guess the experiences I’ve had before I regained the memories of my past life are really kicking in now, huh…
While it still felt really strange that there was nothing between her legs, she was already adapting to life as Norah. Other than the sudden disassembly and reassembly of her bike along with her outburst in the morning, everything she did today was nothing out of the ordinary compared to how she usually lived.
Even then, there is one gring issue with this whole situation…
While her body had definitely changed, her mind was still the same as in her past life. Which creates some complications for a victim of rapid unscheduled reincarnation-based sex change.
I’m being aroused by my own body. Which, safe to say, is really fucking inconvenient. It makes me feel like I’m some sort of pervert taking advantage of gymnasium girls…
To take her mind off the topic, she looked over to her left and found a little panel with a few buttons attached to the toilet.
One of those Japanese toilets, huh? Not. This guy is made in the KF, after all. And if memory serves me right…
Her finger pressed on the button beled with “Cleaning Spell”, and she immediately felt magic energy flow across her lower parts, disintegrating any remaining filth that clung to her.
These things are really amazing. It even has the water spray as well, but the magic cleaning solution is still really nice, and cleans you a lot better. The addition of a warmed toilet seat is also very welcome, especially in this part of the world.
While global warming had significantly increased the global average temperature, that did not stop her home city from getting considerably cold, along with getting rge amounts of snowfall, much like the Bergen from her past life. But even with the occasional random weather fluctuation increasing the temperature and melting some snow, Bergen was still quite cold during the winter.
Norah got up from the warm toilet, flushing it as she pulled her pants up. A quick cleaning spell on her hands from the sink, and she was on her way back to her room.
“...”
Despite her internal monologue and random tasks attempting to distract her from it, the feeling remained. Lust. At this point, with her getting more used to her new body, her desires and curiosity began overpowering her past life’s conscience.
This is my body. I am Frederik Mogensen, but I am definitely Norah Berg as well. It’s not like I am some body-snatching criminal. I am still me, after all.
Norah looked down at herself, taking note of her chest blocking most of the view of her feet.
And now that I actually take a second to think about it, even with Frederik’s and Norah’s consciousness being blended together in my head, the only objections to… exploring myself, are voiced by my past-life’s mind… Surely it wouldn’t hurt if I just…
Norah entered her room and locked the door before taking her pants off and hopping onto her bed. Her desires and curiosity had finally won out, and she inevitably decided to…
[To avoid imagining what is currently transpiring, picture a kitty receiving vigorous headpats.]

“…”
She was now lying in her bed, her undies and pants notably missing after satisfying her… “curiosity”.
Okay. That was quite the… experience. But if just my fingers elicit this kind of reaction, then how the hell am I supposed to deal with a… nevermind…
Deciding that she was done satisfying her “curiosity”, she cleaned herself up and put her pants back on.
So this is my life now, huh…
She sat up in her bed, looking out the window and seeing Bergen’s colorful skyline as the sun was setting and the people down below were wandering about, finishing their weekend errands as the day was coming to a close.
…I don’t feel nearly as terrible about… that as I thought I would. In fact, it actually feels kinda nice to get that out of my system…
“...”
Well, now what?
She thought to herself about her current situation. She had died while being unched into space at the end of her past life, and had regained the memories of said past life when she woke up. Now she is a 3rd year gymnasium student with the advantages that the memories of an astronaut and a world renowned engineer brings. And in this new world, is the unknown that is magic. Magic and magitech are everywhere here, but she seems to have some kind of issue with her ability to cast magic.
It did work when I tried to cast a little spark spell, but it immediately gave me the most absurdly powerful chill I’ve ever felt in my life. And despite that, it felt like nothing. An overwhelming nothingness of some kind… Not that I can do much about it right now. Might want to check with a doctor about that at some point.
Though, with normal magic ruled out for… safety reasons? Ya, safety reasons, there is still one thing I can work with right now. Magitech. Or at least research it. I guess I can research magic too, but I can’t exactly work with it… Right.
Having decided what to do, she returned to her computer and opened up her school’s digital library again.
Research time!

Let’s see, I’m gonna turn left here…
Norah was currently walking through the city center, locating the Tekkj?p she was searching for.
My school does have a workshop where we can use their materials to make things for school projects or studying. But to access the workshops you need a pass, which you need to get at the office, which is naturally closed during the weekend, so I can’t really go there right now.
Which is why I decided to go have a look at magitech in a store. Obviously I won’t be able to pick the machines apart without buying them, but I’ll at least get to have a nice look at some magic based electronics from the outside. Might even find something interesting I’d want to buy.
Tekkj?p, also known as Tekgiganten, is a common electronics store in the KF. Norah had known a simir store, Elg*ganten, in her previous life, but this world’s version of the store sold magitech alongside electronics.
Huh… The store design is eerily simir to Elg*ganten, even with a slightly different name… Well, better get on with things.
As she entered the store, she passed through a barrier of warm air, but instead of getting hot air blown directly into her face as was common in her past life, she simply passed through a magic barrier that kept the inside and outside air separated.
Now, where should I start?
Norah began exploring the store, skipping over the washing machines and e/m-bikes to find other unique technologies using magitech. Going to the appliances section, she spotted the magi-kettles and went straight towards them.
Picking one up, opening the top and peering in, she saw that the bottom was just a ft surface with nothing on it.
Alright, so a… heater of some kind? Probably heats the space inside directly through a spell, but I can’t exactly tear it apart to find out what’s going on in there anyway.
Putting the kettle back in pce, she continued scouring the store for things to inspect, but kept running into the issue that she couldn’t disassemble the items without getting in trouble.
Heating casters, Caster motors, Wind casters, and so on. I can guess at what is going on inside, but I can’t really do anything to confirm it or dig deeper… Well, that’s not really what I came here for, after all. Just inspecting them to see how magitech is actually applied.
She pondered about what she could gain from this visit as she closely inspected the magical hair dryer she had picked out from a shelf.
Maybe the applications of magitech in other things could inspire me on what to build, or something like that..? Who am I kidding, I was just looking for an excuse to go shopping, wasn’t I? Not that it was the only reason.
Having realised her actual goal for coming here, she continued to browse the store.
Even if I was doing it subconsciously, shopping is still kinda fun now that I try it out… Or maybe I just enjoy shopping more as Norah?.. But, now that I actually think about it, I am really just looking at things, and not actually buying stuff. And our main culprit for that…
Laboverk prebuilt gaming PC: 13.999 kr.
Johnnys 65” TV: 19.999 kr.
H?rverk Magi-Smart Hairdryer: 699 kr.
Johnnys Multi-Drink Machine: 8.799 kr.
GameStation 20 Console: 4.499 kr.
KDV Micro 5 Pro Drone: 7.999 kr.
Norah’s current bank bance: 1.817 kr.
Bruh…
Defeated by how expensive the electronics were, Norah left the store without buying anything, walking out onto the streets of Bergen again. It has been a day since she regained the memories of her previous life, and she was now doing random activities that seem productive to pass the time.
Maybe I should just throw in the towel and do some gaming? Not like I can do anything else right now, since I already finished all my school projects… Well, I could read more of the information from the school’s digital library… not. I’ve kinda already read everything on there. In a single night. I read everything so fast that I even surprised myself… What the heck is going on with me..?
Looking down at herself, she took note of her jacket, and how it bulged out slightly around her chest.
This jacket is really nice. It has lots of pockets, and is very warm. Back in my past life, I was one of those guys who would go out in -10 degree weather with nothing but a sweater and some cowboy pants. Now I can barely even exist outside during winter without a jacket.
As she continued walking, it slowly began snowing. There were a fair amount of people around, as it was still the middle of the day. Many were probably out buying christmas presents, with the holiday rapidly approaching and the holiday season well under way.
Kinda funny how things end up. Even if it is up in the hills, our house is still pretty close to the city center.
Norah’s mom had inherited their house after their father died while Norah was still 5. The house sits on top of a hill overlooking most of Bergen, and is a rather nice house. Which would be weird for a single mother to own, but here they are.
My mom works for the hospital as a nurse, and isn’t home very often. The pay is decent, but still not that much in the grand scheme of things. Not that we are living in poverty or anything, but we aren’t that well off either.
Walking through the city and up into the hills, she eventually arrives at her house.
Well, while I don’t have a lot to do right now, I’ll definitely be busy tomorrow. When’s the st time I’ve actually been excited for school?
While she thought to herself, she entered her home through the front door, closing it as she stepped inside.
