Chapter 2: Awakening in Another World

New readers of this book, everyone must think that the first half of this book seems like an online game, huh... youve seen through it.

Since I started writing seriously, I have written two books with over a million words each, "Lucky Magic Swordsman" and "Online Game - Dream Reality". Its really hard for me to switch from online games all of a sudden.

But... after more than 40 chapters, everything gets better. Maybe you wont like it, but its absolutely not like an online game anymore. A pure fantasy story, I think... as long as you persist in reading, maybe... youll like it.

Now, Ive started revising from Chapter 1. The ones helping me revise are all online book friends. If you have any ideas, you can also help Lao Yun revise a chapter, hehe... thanks for the pull.

I think that any authors growth requires a process, and I hope you picky readers will give Old Cloud some more time. If after reading the public chapters, you still cant like it, then everyone can give up on this book because...this book isnt to your taste. However, for those who havent finished reading, I hope youll persist in reading on and not just read 40-some chapters before giving up on it, thats not fair to Old Cloud. A good book is only partly about the beginning, and Old Clouds books have never been too great at the start.

After saying so much, Lao Yun just hopes that everyone will persist in reading on, and perhaps youll discover, ah! This book is actually worth a read!

  ——————————————

At the end of a vast expanse of gray-green forest, a massive active volcano stood towering, with lava surging and receding in strength, accompanied by rolling thick smoke mixed with volcanic ash and sulfur, pouring out continuously from the crater and merging into the sky that had already been dyed gray.

Suddenly, the earth shook violently, and with a loud roar, the once quiet volcano transformed from an old man spewing clouds and mist to a child throwing a tantrum, wildly tossing large rocks and scorching lava into the sky. At its peak, the lava and boulders seemed to mix with hail in a torrential downpour, pouring towards the forest and mountain foot. The forest ignited into a raging inferno upon contact with the lava, as black smoke darkened the already grey sky.

At this moment, a ripple that was imperceptible to the naked eye spread out from the thick clouds, and then the surrounding fog seemed to be attracted, gradually forming a strange whirlpool with the source of the ripple as its center. Next, a gray sphere emitting an eerie glow fell silently from the center of the whirlpool towards the foot of the mountain. At this moment, accompanied by another loud noise, a boulder with a radius of tens of meters was propelled by the most violent volcanic eruption towards that strange sphere. There was no deafening crash, nor was there an earth-shaking explosion; the sphere continued to fly towards the foot of the mountain as if nothing had happened. If it werent for the smooth passage through the giant rock, everyone might have thought they hadnt made contact at all.

As the ash ball approached the ground, its speed slowed down gradually until it finally stopped and hovered about half a meter above the ground. The volcano eventually calmed down after spewing out one last batch of lava, and then fell silent, emitting gray smoke as usual, beginning a new cycle of dormancy, as if nothing had happened at all.

The gray ball still floated quietly in the sky, with only the gray texture on its surface constantly changing shape. At this time, a strange and ancient door suddenly appeared beside the gray ball. A person wrapped in a long gray robe slowly walked out of the door and stood in front of the gray ball. Then, a hoarse and tired voice came from the hood of the robe:

  "Ah... Ive finally found it!"

Thats right, this old man is the "Administrator". A bit narcissistic and loves to complain, Ye An Yu - Zhouhai Fashi, after finally completing his work, found that a recovered space crystal was missing. Under intense pressure, he had an impulse to go wild, but could only drag his tired body to start searching. Because he couldnt accurately detect the position of the moving crystal, it wasnt until just now when the crystal stopped moving that he finally found it. (Poor guy!)

"But then, why didnt the crystal explode? It would have been easier if it had!" He muttered to himself as he examined the gray ball. "Forget it, lets analyze it first." As he spoke, he took out a pair of glasses with strange symbols etched onto them from his pocket and put them on.

"Its interesting!" he muttered to himself as he examined the sphere, and through his glasses, he saw a boy of about ten years old with tattered clothes floating inside the sphere, tightly hugging a gray crystal in his hand. Under the special ability of the glasses, he clearly saw that a stream of invisible spatial energy was emanating from the crystal and spreading out into the surroundings, only to be absorbed back into the boys body, flowing through his body and back into the crystal, with the spatial energy circulating in a subtle balance.

"So thats it, through energy contact and soul connection, some kind of bond was formed, not a violent release, but a circulation, this is an unprecedented case! From the perspective of Saint Terras energy theory...". He thought hard while speaking some profound theories, slowly, his previous fatigue and impatience seemed to have run away to the edge of the sky, through his glasses, a thread of crazy light that made peoples hair stand on end shot out from his eyes, his hands also started shaking slightly, "...in this case, energy should have formed a symbiotic relationship with him and partially assimilated, I really want to know what its actually like...right, lets break this circulation state first!"

After finishing, he tidied up his robe and snapped his fingers loudly. With himself as the center, the entire world except for him turned into black and white in an instant. The gears of time stopped moving, and everything came to a standstill, maintaining its shape from the previous moment. Then, he placed one hand on the gray ball and began to alter the trajectory of spatial energy, making them all point towards the crystal stone. After completing this, he carefully retreated several steps before snapping his fingers loudly again.

As the sound of "whoosh" echoed, the gray sphere began to rapidly shrink inward, emitting a massive gray light pillar that shot into the sky. The intense shockwave triggered by the light pillar overturned the rocky ground with a radius of several kilometers, forming a small basin. Meanwhile, the old man stood at the edge, seemingly unaffected by the blast, which didnt even ruffle his clothes. He gazed at the quietly lying boy with an unsettling stare, as if he hadnt eaten in years and was looking at a delicious meal. He muttered to himself: "First, separate the soul for examination, then process the body, dissect it into groups... no, no, no, I should measure the coordination rate first..."

Just as his hand was about to touch the boy, he suddenly trembled violently as if bound by something, and then stood still. A few seconds later, he jumped back a distance, took a deep breath, and shouted loudly:

"What the heck!! Whats with this stupid clause that doesnt allow interference with the normal development of the dimensional interface? Ive been working my butt off, and now even my personal hobbies are restricted by the rules? Back in the day..."

"Haha, you just realized now? Youre still as loudmouthed and self-absorbed as ever." Just as he was about to launch into a long-winded speech, a faint, amused voice floated in, accompanied by the sudden appearance of a grey, irregular cloud-like object between the old man and the boy.

The old man who was speaking on the stage was suddenly interrupted and became very angry, looking for who did it. But after discovering that thing, he was stunned there, and then a shocking roar burst out of his mouth, rushing towards it with all possible attack methods: punching, clawing, biting... Anyone who doesnt know his identity will think hes a mad warrior after seeing this scene.

But the thing that was bitten in his mouth didnt get angry, instead it smiled and said: "Oh, my friend, even if we havent seen each other for a long time, do we need to hug so passionately? Even saliva has flowed onto me, is my charm really that great?"

"Get out of here, you wicked big nose, now that youre having a good time, come see the jokes on me?" The old man roared.

"Easy, easy, my ears are going to be deafened, but it seems I dont have ears, haha. Alright, alright, stop staring at me like that, I wont tell jokes anymore. Actually, I was brought here by the irregular flow of spatial energy just now, and it looks like this kid is the cause. Nose Mucus stretched out a short tentacle to point at the boy lying there. As for you wanting to study him, its impossible. Strictly speaking, this accident also belongs to a link in the movement of things. Even if its related to you as a manager, you cant interfere with him. The law is just such an unfeeling and troublesome thing. Ive had similar experiences before." Nose Mucus said while looking at the boy and sighing.

"Hmph! Now its my turn to suffer, you can certainly say that so lightly. Wait until we get back to the Wu Shi and Ill have a good talk with you. These past few days have been especially busy and Im about to collapse." The old man slowly calmed down and his tone became softer, "Although its a pity about the research materials, lets just go with the flow. Anyway, he has some sort of connection with the crystal now and cant be retrieved. Lets go!" After saying this with a hint of regret, the old man strode through the door and disappeared.

"Snot didnt leave immediately after the old man, but instead took a closer look at the boy lying there. Hehe, whether its pitiful or fortunate, the curtain has already been raised, and youd better put on a wonderful show, Mr. Protagonist. After all, Im really bored with him... Snot said this in an expectant tone after taking one last look at the boy, then slowly merged into space and disappeared. The vast, empty room was left with only the boy quietly lying there..."

This boy is our genius, Leng Mo. After being freed from the endless cycle of spatial energy and arriving in this strange world in a daze, he has been lying there unconscious for one day... two days... Finally, on the third day, some dark silhouettes appeared in the distance. Judging by their direction of movement, they should be rushing towards here. Of course... How could that earth-shaking gray light pillar and the deafening shockwave not attract anyone?

The figures gradually approached, each one extremely stout, but none of them could exceed 1.2 meters in height! It was a group of dwarves!

Very soon... the dwarves arrived in front of the drowsy little god, looking at this tattered and worn-out little boy holding a large crystal stone. All the dwarves couldnt help but look at each other, they never thought that in the center of the explosion, there would actually be a child!

After some discussion, several dwarves lifted up the little god child. Originally they wanted to take away the gray crystal from the little god childs hand, but the little god child was holding on too tightly. If they were to use force to take it away, they would definitely hurt their arm. Helplessly... The dwarves just lifted the little god child and the silver-gray crystal together above their heads and slowly disappeared into the distance...

"My body hurts so much, I remember it was in the courtyard, why cant I open my eyes?" As I gradually regained consciousness, I had no idea what happened, why my body hurt so much and why I couldnt open my eyes. The only image that remained was that flash of silver light.

Before I could figure out what was going on, a wave of drowsiness washed over me and I lost consciousness again. I dont know how long I slept, but in the middle of it all, I woke up a few times, vaguely feeling someone feeding me some sweet food. But I was really too tired, not just mentally, but my whole body was exhausted, even my eyes couldnt open!

I dont know how long I slept for, but later on, I heard that Dwarf Uncle Luo said that I slept for a whole month, can I sleep or what?

Finally... My spirit and body gradually recovered, with great difficulty I opened my eyes, but what entered my sight was a completely unfamiliar environment!

The house was built entirely with logs, the logs were nailed between each other with iron nails, one on top of another, forming the surrounding walls. The roof was made up of large and sturdy tree trunks laid side by side!

But whats even more special is that the trees used to build these houses are actually alive, with green leaves and branches connecting the trunks, making the entire room bright and lush.

Geelee wah lah, woo loo hah lah...

I stared blankly at a stout, bearded man who was barely over one meter tall, gesticulating excitedly at me about something, but unfortunately, I couldnt understand a word!

What language is this? This was the only thought I had before I fell asleep again, and it wasnt a long sleep, just one day and night. When I woke up again, my spirit had largely recovered!

This time there were many more people in the house, counting them, there were nearly ten dwarves, everyone was chattering and saying something, unfortunately... I still couldnt understand!

What if you cant understand the language? Hehe... In all the world, as long as its a person, there is one common language. How about that? Cant guess? Let me tell you, this language is sign language!

Although its not exactly the same as Earths sign language, its roughly similar... for example, eating, sleeping, talking, etc. One look and you can tell what theyre doing or what they mean, no need to study it specially, one glance and you can understand!

Fortunately, these dwarves lived under the volcano and many people had already become deaf due to the huge roar of the volcanic eruption, so sign language was also a common language for the dwarves. After a while of drawing pictures, I finally understood what they meant!

Although the gestures are not exactly the same, its a good thing that I used to participate in charity events and learned sign language, and my hand gestures were very standard, so those dwarves could completely understand what I was saying!

As for their gestures, although I dont fully understand them, who am I? A genius! The ability to infer three from one is simply an instinct for me, and with just a little thought, I know what theyre saying!

So... the red-bearded dwarf was asking me how my body was doing and if I had any discomfort anywhere. As he spoke, the bearded dwarf muttered to himself in a low voice, I knew... he was explaining the meaning of gestures! Probably out of habit!

Made a gesture to tell the dwarf grandfather that everything has returned to normal, thank you all for your concern!

The dwarves were all kind, they saw my gesture and everyone showed a benevolent smile. A dwarf girl walked over with a bowl of porridge-like substance in her hand and made an eating gesture towards me!
