Chapter 3: Dwarf Tribe

She was a petite girl, but very lovely, not like other dwarves who were rough and coarse, but rather delicate, with a genuine smile on her apple-like face.

Smiling, I took the wooden bowl from her hand, a sweet fragrance wafted directly into my nostrils, hmm... it smells so good, is this what I often ate during my coma?

Took a light sip, hmm... its indeed the one, sweet and fragrant, smooth and silky, no need to swallow, it slid down my throat into my belly on its own.

Tentatively stepped down to the ground, tentatively took two steps, well... no problem, almost fully recovered, except for a slightly dizzy body, nothing different from normal people!

I settled down in the dwarf village, and after a month of rest, I fully recovered. With my genius-level intellect, I quickly learned their language, although its impossible to learn everything, but general daily conversations are absolutely no problem!

The dwarf girl who gave me porridge to drink was called Nasa, an 18-year-old dwarf girl. I originally thought she was about the same age as me, but it turned out that she was actually eight years older than me!

Through Natashas introduction, I have come to understand a lot. The world I am in is no longer the original world. Of course... this world also has no name, just like my world on Earth also has no name. A world is just a world, stars can have names, but worlds do not!

Up until now, I still cant believe that Ive left my original world. Everything feels like a dream, so... from now on, Ill call this world the "Dream World", which seems fitting!

In this world, there are seven larger continents and fourteen smaller ones, as well as countless islands. Nasa only knows that the continent I am currently on is called Tiān Mèng Dà Lù (Sky Dream Continent), and the one adjacent to us is called Piāo Xiāng Dà Lù (Floating Fragrance Continent). As for the names of the other continents, she has no idea!

The continent we are on belongs to the territory of the Sunset Empire. Before the Thousand Years War, dwarves originally lived in the central part of the Tianmeng Continent, together with humans, beastmen and other races. However, after the devastation of the Thousand Years War, only a few thousand dwarves were left, who were hunted down to this place, hiding under the harsh environment of the active volcano, barely surviving.

From the outside worlds perspective, the dwarves have been exterminated. The Tianmeng Continent is now completely ruled by humans. No one knows that in such a remote place, there are still dwarves existing. Otherwise... they would definitely not be able to continue living.

The dwarves are a diligent and simple people, they were born warriors but do not like to fight or go to war. They prefer to use their own hands and the iron hammers in them to forge one piece of equipment after another, be it weapons, farming tools or armor! The dwarven blacksmiths are famous throughout the world, no foreigner can reach their level because... they have devoted their lifes blood to the career they love most.

Although life was already very difficult, the dwarves did not stop their work. Even if no one bought the weapons they forged, they continued to forge and smelt day and night, because... forging weapons and armor was the dwarves duty! As the dwarf village chief said: "As long as life goes on, forging will never stop!"

The dwarf village has more than 1,400 people, all of whom are dwarves. They make a living by forging weapons and equipment. In their spare time, they plant melons around the village. The entire village relies on eating melons to sustain life. Fortunately, it is close to an active volcano here, and there are four seasons in summer all year round. There are always fresh melons to eat, and the dwarves livelihoods are not worried!

Since my body has fully recovered, I wont be able to continue eating for free. Although Im only ten years old, even the dwarves who are shorter and younger than me have started helping dad and mom with work, what reason do I have to idle around?

Dwarves have many jobs, including mining, transporting ore, crushing ore, smelting, forging... If divided in detail, there are more than 20 kinds!

But because Im too young, most of the work I cant do, such as finding ore, transporting ore, I cant go to do!

Minerals are easy to find, no need to go to the mountains to mine, just pick them up in the wilderness. Active volcanoes often spew out some rocks, and these rocks are all minerals containing various metals. Just go to the wilderness to find them and transport them back.

However... the wilderness is not peaceful, there are monsters everywhere, from low-level to high-level, all kinds of them. Generally, dwarves rarely go out to mine, they just dig a few iron ore on the mountain wall and thats it!

Generally speaking, the closer to the village, the worse the ore is. The farther away from the village, the better the ore is. Beyond a certain distance, there are many more ores. After billions of years of eruption, the entire ground is covered with ore layers, but at the same time, the danger has also greatly increased. The village chief said that he once encountered an adult lizard dragon, and more than 60 dwarves who went with him died, only he himself escaped back!

Although the Lizard Dragon is not a dragon and does not even have any blood relation to dragons, its powerful physical attacks are still not something that dwarves or even humans can withstand!

The last time they rushed to my place, it was because of that shocking huge explosion, which made all the monsters disappear, so they plucked up their courage and went far away to mine, and also rescued me who was at the center of the explosion.

This time out of the village, is the first time in nearly 50 years that the dwarf tribe has gone beyond 100 kilometers outside the village, reaching a distance of over 200 kilometers.

Im not allowed to leave the village now, just like other dwarf children. Once we go out, we will be torn apart by ferocious beasts in a few seconds!

Im also unable to crush ore, not because of anything else, but with my strength, wanting to use a large iron hammer to smash the ore as hard as steel is simply ridiculous!

All I can do now is help the dwarf uncle sweep up the crushed ore, load it into an iron basket with a small iron shovel, and then take it to the smelting dwarf uncle. After that, Ill have to carry the smelted metal blocks to the forging dwarf uncle. Its all just running errands!

Its really true... In just one month, my body has become stronger, and muscles have started to appear in various parts of my body. Now I finally understand why dwarves are all so sturdy - its because they do physical labor, its hard not to get strong!

Its been two months since I woke up. In the first month, I didnt do anything and just rested to recover my physical strength and spirit. From the second month on, I started working as a small errand boy, transporting ore fragments and smelted metals became my job!

When I was on Earth, my daily work was learning. Learning had become a habit for me, so... when I had nothing to do, I would stand beside the dwarven uncles who were smelting or forging and learn their forging techniques! After a month, relying on my prodigious wisdom, I had learned almost everything, but... without strength, you cant do anything! Forging iron isnt like embroidering flowers. Without sufficient physical strength, dont even think about it.

Looking at the cold light flashing weapons, armor... appearing in the hands of the dwarf uncle, I couldnt help but feel envious. I finally understand why they are so obsessed with it. Every time they create a new weapon, I believe their hearts are filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Dwarves are born warriors, this statement is both right and wrong. No one is born to be something, its the acquired efforts that decide everything.

In my observation, dwarves are born to be warriors, and this is inseparable from their acquired efforts. Although they do not have deliberate training, their lifestyle determines that they will definitely become the best warriors.

Weighing over 40 kilograms, the iron hammers for breaking up ore were swung down tens of thousands of times a day. The 20-kilogram heavy forging hammers were swung non-stop every day. Adding to that the transportation of ore, such intense physical exercise gave them sturdy physiques and exaggerated arm strength. Its probably because the weight and length of the giant axes are similar to those of the iron hammers used for forging that dwarves love using them as weapons.

Although there are times when I miss home, once work starts, you cant think of anything else. Dwarves are the type of people who dont care about anything once they start working. Once they begin, unless its time to eat, no one will divert their attention to other things. If I were to slack off, I guarantee no one would notice. But then again, in such an intense work environment, who would dare to slack off?

After a tiring day, I finally returned to my room, swinging my sore but increasingly powerful arms. I excitedly smiled, thinking about tomorrow! Tomorrow morning, the village elder will teach us dwarves the battle-axe techniques, because... we cant stay hidden in the village forever, and if we want to leave, we must learn basic self-defense martial arts!
