Chapter 26: Arduous Training

As soon as he saw that Jiao Xun was still alive, Yin Lang happily bit onto the ropes tied to Jiao Xuns feet and pulled him towards his den. Seeing this scene, I couldnt help but curiously follow them.

Its been a month or two since I last saw them, and the wolf cubs have grown up. Each one of them is bigger than a Pekingese dog, especially with their full set of sharp teeth, which looks quite terrifying.

The silver wolf bit through the ropes on the two horns feet, and suddenly... The two horns trembled and stood up, looked at the silver wolf beside them, and turned around to run away.

Unfortunately... how could the Silver Wolf tolerate their escape? It quickly dashed to their front, blocked them, and fiercely tore off the skin from their bodies. After several times... the two poor Angle Worms stood there pitifully, no longer daring to run.

Next... the Silver Wolf returned to its den, one by one, and brought out six silver wolf cubs, and actually started teaching those six little guys how to hunt!

As I watched the corner of the wolf den, where the big six and small seven wolves were tormenting it, becoming weaker and weaker, my heart began to ache. I let out a soft sigh, turned around and left the wolf den, went to the spring on the other side of the giant stone to wash my face. After walking for so long, my body and face were all covered in dust, washing up felt wonderful.

Shaking off the water on my hands, I straightened up and heard two miserable cries from the other side of the rock. My heart skipped a beat as I knew... The two horned creatures had finally been killed after being tortured for so long.

I stood there in a daze, and when I was taking biology class on Earth, I knew the law of nature - survival of the fittest. But... when I faced this bloody reality myself, I truly realized how cruel it was, especially when it was caused by my own hands. The feeling was even stronger then.

In nature, as long as you have strength, you can slaughter any other wild beast at will, and no one will intervene.

But... knowing is one thing, but if a beast does it, thats just the way it is. If a human being can be so cruel, then this world is truly terrifying.

Sighing softly, many times, its only after things are done that you realize youve made a mistake, and before that, you didnt even notice anything was wrong.

Just like what happened today, when I caught the horned creatures and wanted to bring them to Silver Wolf as food, I didnt feel anything was wrong. However...when I saw with my own eyes that two of the horned creatures were bitten by Silver Wolf until they were covered in wounds, their skin torn apart, I realized I was wrong.

I gritted my teeth slightly and made a lifelong vow. Unless someone is extremely evil or has a deep hatred for me, I will not torture them in such an inhumane way. If I were to kill them, I would do it with one swift and painless blow, never allowing them to suffer those inhumane torments.

After some deliberation, I finally put down my worries. Since the matter has already occurred, no matter how much consideration is given, its already useless. What I can do now is to try my best to avoid making the same mistake again in the future.

I dont think its wrong for me to kill the horned beast, after all... I am also a member of nature, if I want to survive, then I must take life, I must kill the horned beast, otherwise, I simply cannot survive.

From another perspective, Silver Wolf is not wrong either. Although Angles death was pitiful, Silver Wolf also needs to survive and must personally teach his children how to defeat their enemies and capture prey, just like the patriarch grandfather taught me. He is tirelessly teaching his children as well.

The only thing I did wrong was that I shouldnt have been the one to hand over Guo Jing to the Silver Wolf. If he had gone to capture him himself, it would have meant something entirely different. Although this sounds like a weak excuse, all I want is a clear conscience. The world is so big and things like this happen every minute, even if I wanted to intervene, I couldnt. Sometimes... being able to ask for a clear conscience is already not bad.

Having thought it through, I turned back behind the rock and looked towards the location of the two horned creatures. The place was empty except for two bright red bloodstains on the ground, leaving only some shattered bone fragments and scattered pieces of flesh. It seemed that... both of the horned creatures had already entered the bellies of a few small wolves.

Biting back the discomfort in my heart, I cleared out a spot for myself in the wolfs den and sat down cross-legged, beginning my daily meditation.

One night without words, I woke up early the next morning. Now... my time to complete nine turns has been shortened to just half a night. Continuing to run isnt impossible, but after absorbing nine cycles, theres very little loose energy left in the meridians. Even if I keep running, the effect wont be great, and its not much slower than absorbing on my own.

The silver wolf gets up earlier than me, or... he is a nocturnal creature himself, the more awake at night, all wolves on earth are nocturnal animals, specializing in appearing in the dark of night, especially on full moon nights, and howling at the moon, thats one of my favorite scenes.

First, I went to the spring waters edge and washed my face. Then, in a clearing among the trees, I performed several sets of the Seven Cuts technique until my entire body was limber. After that, Silver Wolf and I headed towards his hunting grounds - the direction of Water Bay. There... many powerful magical beasts await me to come and challenge them.

When we arrived at the bay, it was just the time when the monsters were drinking water in the morning. Although there werent as many as during noon and evening, however... all of my targets this time were present.

I targeted a lone wind antelope and swiftly cut past it. If I didnt use my inner power, my strength wasnt superior to its, and was even slightly inferior, which was exactly what I needed.

I will no longer use internal force, because... I want to rely on the opportunity of constantly competing with Feng Ling to continuously improve my arm strength, in order to become a qualified primary martial artist as soon as possible.

As soon as I approached the saola, it immediately turned around, its head slightly lowered, and a single horn gleaming with cold light quickly targeted me, ready to charge at any moment.

He tightly grasped the hundred-battle knife in his hand, carefully watching the Wind Leopard. Against this kind of magical beast that could fight from both a distance and up close, with extremely fast speed and very powerful attacks, it would be extremely dangerous if he wasnt careful.

  Sigh...

Finally... the Wind Leopard didnt stay still, he opened up his four limbs and charged towards me like a thunderbolt. I could even hear the whistling sound of him breaking through the air, which showed just how fast his speed was!

He took a deep breath of cold air, closed his mouth, sank his energy into his dantian, and swiftly raised the Baisanguo knife in his hand. Then... he quickly stepped forward, and with the inertia of his body charging forward, the Baisanguo knife in his hand flashed down like lightning at full speed!

  Right!

In the flash of cold light, my hundred-battle knife and Feng Xies single horn collided violently, amidst the sparks flying everywhere, I flew backward like being electrocuted, stumbling several times before finally stopping in my tracks.

This time... Feng Xiang didnt gain too much of an advantage, firstly because I borrowed the power of the front charge, and on the other hand, my arm strength has also been greatly improved over the past month or two!

I, along with Feng Xiang, both slightly paused, then rapidly charged at each other again. I took a deep breath, although my arm had already been numbed by the shock, but... I absolutely wouldnt back down! Once I backed down, I would lose. How could my retreating speed possibly compare to Feng Xiangs wind-like speed?

  Right!

Both arms were numbed again, as if they had been completely severed, with no feeling at all. The hands grasping the knife also weakened, and it seemed that control over the Baiseng Knife was about to be lost once more!

At this moment, without my command, two hot streams of energy were emitted from the Dan Tian and quickly transmitted to my arms through the shocked meridians. In an instant, my arms regained their strength and became even stronger than usual!

  Hahaha!

With a loud laugh, he took a step back and then suddenly stepped forward again, with a cushioned step, his body leapt up with all his might, both hands holding the knife, in one swift motion, he hacked at Huashan with all his strength, desperately chopping towards Feng Lings single horn.

  Right!

Louder than the first two times, I and Feng Xiang each paused for a moment, but miraculously neither of us took a step back. Looking at Feng Xiang who was within arms reach, I knew... that I absolutely had to launch the attack first. If I let Feng Xiang start attacking, then I wouldnt have any chance of counterattacking afterwards.

  Dong! Dong! Dong......

With both hands holding the knife, I gritted my teeth and hacked at the Wind Goats single horn with all my might, inch by inch blocking its attempts to move forward.

After a series of collisions, the Wind Goat finally began to retreat. As it did, I took large strides forward, using my bodys momentum to raise the Hundred Wars Blade to its highest point. I let out a loud battle cry... and poured all my strength into one slash, losing myself in the motion as I brought the blade down.

  Right!

In the midst of the loud noise, the wind goat actually withstood my attack. Although its yellow sharp horns were still intact, however... its slender legs had already begun to tremble and it was struggling to charge over, but its legs were trembling and refusing to listen to its commands. Looking at its stubborn expression, I admired and put down the hundred-battle knife in my hand. Such an unyielding spirit made me unable to continue attacking, even if we still needed to fight, I would choose another one instead.

"Brothers, today is Sunday! The time from 12am to tomorrow noon is crucial. I hope capable friends can come and vote for "The Legend of the Evil God" after 12am tonight. Please!"
