If yesterday was a css on magical theory, then today ought to be a practical css, and Liu Sen had high hopes for it, arriving early in the cssroom. This cssroom was much smaller and didn't differ much from a regur cssroom, bright and students were seated on both sides, leaving a wide aisle in the middle leading up to a high podium. If there was anything different about a magical world cssroom compared to the real world, it undoubtedly would be the unusually high podium, perhaps a means to highlight the distinctiveness of the instructor.
But the instructor who entered had nothing remarkable about him!
Liu Sen had seen this person before; it was the same Reynos who had tested his magic yesterday, the one with impeccably combed hair. Aside from being short-statured, everything about him fit the bel of a handsome man, though his age leaned more towards a handsome uncle!
As Reynos walked through the aisle, still a distance from the podium, his body suddenly levitated, slowly floating towards the podium. This distance of more than a meter took him about seven or eight seconds to cover.
The students' admiring gazes sted for seven or eight minutes! — Cpping and cheering were not encouraged in the cssroom, but it didn't hinder the students' respect for the teacher.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" His voice was deep, slightly magnetic: "Today we'll discuss the affinity of magical elements, a topic some of you have already studied. However, we have many new students, so it's necessary to go over it again."
Liu Sen had already noticed; people in the cssroom had been paying attention to him, and not just him but also the student who was tested alongside him yesterday. It seemed the css division was somewhat unreasonable, with a mix of new and old students. Some had been there for a long time, some for a few months, some were attending their first css today, and others would be coming in the following days. This situation inevitably led to some confusion, as the teacher had to repeatedly cover the same material.
But nobody seemed to mind!
"As you must know, the affinity of magical elements is key to a mage's precise control of magic. If spells are the welcome nguage, then affinity is undoubtedly the retionship between you and the magical elements. As long as the retionship is good, our magical friend will grant you incredible power, helping you accomplish tasks you otherwise couldn't. The higher the level of magic, the more demanding the requirements for the elements, and we must always understand what our friend needs, their likes and dislikes…"
After a lengthy discussion, the essence was still theoretical: respect and understand the magical elements. The principle remained the same, but Reynos made it more vivid by anthropomorphizing the magical elements. Liu Sen felt frustrated; why were his magical elements different from what was described? These little things had entered his body, and besides their initial spontaneous reaction to his first spell chant, now they obeyed his commands, moving to his arm without wandering elsewhere, forming lines to sever a tree branch or scratch Grus's back of the hand, never straying off to flirt elsewhere. Should he be more polite in the future? Say "please" when giving them orders?
Giving orders? Liu Sen startled himself. Was the difference between him and others that he commanded the magical elements, while others requested their help? One treating the magical elements as sves, the other as masters?
"This student, um, Liu Sen!" Reynos had somehow appeared before him, tapping the namepte on his desk, and said coldly: "You had some bizarre theories yesterday, what are you thinking about today?"
Liu Sen was slightly shocked, coming back to his senses with all eyes in the cssroom on him, some with mockery, some with disgust, and others just watching the spectacle. A pretty girl beside him was among the more reactive ones, her face showing scorn. Daydreaming during css was a bad habit of his, of course, but did it warrant such a reaction?
"Nothing, Instructor Reynos!" Liu Sen stood up and replied respectfully.
"You must be thinking again if there's another way to make this magical friend treat you better, right?"
"I didn't think that!" Liu Sen was slightly angry, detecting obvious disdain in the instructor's gaze.
"Let me tell you something!" Reynos said: "The best student in my css is already a level one mage, but no one dares to ignore any word I say. My css has always respected the rules of magic and is considered a model for the whole school. I can get my students expelled, but I don't want any of them to be expelled because… they don't understand the most basic things about magic! Do you understand? This would disgrace our academy and bring criticism upon me as an instructor!" He lightly tapped the desk with his finger.
Soft ughter arose around, obviously mocking.
Liu Sen's face flushed red, loudly saying: "Instructor, I did ask a question yesterday, but it was just my personal doubt, not challenging anyone, let alone the rules of magic. Even the dean didn't mind!" What he wanted to say was, if the dean didn't mind, why are you making a fuss? But he held back the tter part, not wanting to oppose the instructor in the first css.
"The dean didn't mind because you're not worth discussing with him… but since you're in my css, you'll listen to what I say, not missing a word, even if you don't understand anything… Now, do you understand what I'm saying?"
"I understand!" Liu Sen forcefully swallowed his pride.
"Finally!" The instructor said: "Repeat what I just said. If you can't, you'll stay here for three days without stepping outside!"
Establishing authority! Liu Sen finally understood. This might be a common method for teachers facing new students, punishing one to assert their dominance, ensuring no one dares to question their words thereafter. But this old man chose the wrong person and the wrong tone. If he had asked politely and covered it with school rules, Liu Sen might indeed feel guilty. But with this contemptuous tone and provocative demeanor aiming to achieve his punitive goals, Liu Sen couldn't accept it, whether he was the usually arrogant Akrus or the habitually css-attending Liu Sen.
"You can't even understand this? Maybe I was wrong in the test yesterday; you should be demoted to the outer level!"
Amidst ughter, Liu Sen loudly said: "Instructor Reynos, you want me to repeat what you just said, right?"
"Yes! Let's hear it!"
Liu Sen respectfully said: "The instructor spoke very vividly and profoundly; I'm too foolish to remember it all, but I'll try to repeat the gist! The central idea of the instructor is that magical elements are deserving of respect, messengers of the gods. Yesterday, the dean also mentioned that only those who have achieved a great mastery of magic have the right to consider magical elements as friends, and none of us here, including the instructor, have that right. We can only see ourselves as servants and the elements as masters. The 'magical friend' mentioned by the instructor is just a term of respect, right?"
Although this implied belittlement of the instructor, Reynos, merely a magic guide, dared not cim to have achieved "great mastery" and slowly nodded: "Exactly!"
"I finally understand the instructor's point. Spells are the keys to opening the door, and magical affinity is the means to serve this master. We must try our best to serve this master. Once the master enters the room, we are no longer ourselves; we are the master's female sves!"
Everyone was stunned. Could magical theory be expined so pinly? What he said was essentially what the instructor had stated, but much more vividly. Although the instructor referred to them as "friends," a friend who solely watches the magical elements' mood isn't really a friend but clearly a female sve! It was a matter of role positioning, and his expnation seemed clearer.
Liu Sen's gaze fell on a girl next to him, who had ughed loudly earlier. Liu Lin said: "Once this issue is clear, the methods of serving are simple. If the master wants to drink, you pour it for him, holding it with both hands. If the master wants to sleep, you massage him, pat his back. If the master wants to enjoy himself, you can accompany him…" Laughter, with a somewhat ambiguous tone, arose from the other side of the cssroom.
The girl, feeling uncomfortable, blushed and finally shouted: "Why... why me... why are you looking at me?"
"Because in front of magical elements, everyone is a sve, and you're no exception!"
The girl stood up: "I... I'm not..."
"You're not a sve? Do you dare disrespect magical elements, wanting to be expelled?" Liu Sen sneered: "Even Instructor Reynos admits to being a servant in front of magical elements; do you think you're better than the instructor?"
What's wrong with admitting to being a servant? Must it be said so vulgarly? But it seems quite normal for a female sve to do these things. The girl turned to the instructor: "Instructor, he... he... he's bullying!"
Reynos had yet to speak when Liu Sen countered: "This is an interpretation of the instructor's meaning. If you make the magical elements' master comfortable, the master will naturally grant you incredible power, the greatest honor. How is that bullying?"
The faces of all the males and females in the cssroom bore strange expressions; the males appeared scivious, while the females were clearly uncomfortable. The interpretation of magic to this lewd extent seemed incorrect, yet somehow very thorough.
"Cough cough..." The instructor coughed lightly, finally saying: "Today's css was very lively. Dismissed!"
The instructor was the first to leave, followed by the girl running out as if she had been wantonly vioted and finally escaped. Liu Sen, picking up his thick magic book, was just standing up when a male student in front of him gave him a slight thumbs up: "Brother, you've got guts!"
Liu Sen was puzzled: "The instructor's teachings were too profound; I really couldn't repeat them verbatim, so I had to interpret them in my own way. It wasn't quite proper, but fortunately, the instructor was magnanimous and didn't mind…"
The surrounding crowd burst into ughter, with one whispering: "That little vixen is actually Reynos's mistress, used to being arrogant. It's good to see you put her in her pce!"
So she was Reynos's mistress. No wonder every time Reynos mocked him, she showed strong interest without any hesitation. Liu Sen perked up his ears, loudly saying: "What did this fellow student say? I didn't hear a word. You're saying... the girl has a misunderstanding about magic? Yeah, I think so too... Let's go, this cssroom is too noisy!" He turned and left, leaving behind a bunch of stupefied students.
