Chapter 18: Be Yourself!

Liu Sen turned around, and standing behind him was a petite and beautiful girl, no more than sixteen or seventeen years old, her round eyes rolling over his face. "What are you looking at? Haven't seen a woman before? I'm asking for directions!"

Liu Sen smiled: "Magic and Martial Arts Academy, right? I know it. From JiLiMan City, past XiHe, through ChiBu Grassnd, and you'll reach SuErSaSi!"

He expined so clearly! The girl thanked him repeatedly: "Thank you, how do I get to JiLiMan City?"

Liu Sen: "I don't know, ask someone else. Once you've got it clear, I'll take you there!"

What a warm-hearted person, willing to accompany her on her way, yet amusingly confused, not even knowing the way to JiLiMan City himself. Soon, the girl had the directions, walking up to him: "I've got it clear now, so are you taking me or am I taking you?"

The girl looked at him with a smile: "If you said you were also looking for someone to take you there, I wouldn't be surprised."

"Smart! I'm indeed heading to the Magic and Martial Arts Academy!" Liu Sen ughed: "Is it a bit odd here to welcome a fellow student?"

"Yes!" The girl also ughed, revealing a cute little tiger tooth: "Fellow student, what magic do you study?"

  "Wind magic... what about you?"

The girl looked disappointed: "My magic isn't fun, but my father insists it's the most suitable for me!"

"What kind of magic is it? Whether it's fun or not!" Liu Sen was interested: "Earth magic?" Only earth magic was truly dull, a little girl having to deal only with dirt, which was hardly amusing.

The girl excimed: "Told you it's not fun... I'll switch once I'm at the academy!"

Indeed! Liu Sen: "Right... We'll try everything once we're there, see what's fun. We should buy two horses now, or else how long will it take to get there on foot?"

"No horses, we'll buy deer!" The little girl lifted her bundle: "My father gave me a lot of money. My mother asked if it was enough, and with just one word from me, she gave me a lot more. Guess what I said?"

How could one guess? Liu Sen found it amusing: "Besides saying 'not enough' to trick money out of her, what else could you have done?"

The girl giggled: "No, I said... I'm prepared to endure hardship when I'm out, I don't need money, not even a single gold coin! My mother felt so sorry for me, she gave me all her gold coins, hehe, fun right?"

She was indeed lively, excited by the mere presence of a fellow student, chattering endlessly. Though wealthy, she wasn't frivolous with money, at least Liu Sen's deer was paid for from his own pocket, and his gold coins also made the girl excim, his wealth seemingly matching hers.

Riding on white deer like the wind, their conversation didn't cease. The girl's name was beautiful: Bosti, a merchant's daughter from the east. She had two brothers and a sister. In just a short span of minutes, Liu Sen had pretty much learned about all her family members, including the goods her father traded, the decorations in her mother's room, and her sister's mischief.

After sharing her background, Bosti asked: "What about you, where are you from?"

"I live on an isnd, there are too many people in my family to list... which way should we go?" Liu Sen didn't want to brag about being a young master. If he mentioned he was the young master of Wind God Isnd, she might get scared, although he didn't know what status Wind God Isnd had on the mainnd, but an isnd that dominated eight hundred li of sea territory couldn't be too shabby.

"The sea? That's not a good pce! Everyone says there's Wind God Isnd, where demons live. Their isnd master is no good, the whole family is no good."

Liu Sen was stunned, could infamy spread so far?

Bosti added: "But don't worry, they're only powerful on the isnd. Once they nd, they're nothing. If you see their people, let me know, and I'll get someone to beat them up for you!"

Liu Sen nodded repeatedly: "Thank you, I'll definitely tell you!" His status as a young master seemed not to be something to boast about. Initially, he was embarrassed to use it, now he dared not mention it.

"I'm a level four magician, what about you?" Bosti continued.

"I... I'm also level four!" Liu Sen said: "Could we be in the same css?"

"You're so silly!" Bosti giggled: "Our magics are different, how could we be in the same css? Wind magic... I think I'll try learning wind magic too after getting to the academy, it's fun, right?"

Laughing and talking all the way, it wasn't lonely. Passing JiLiMan City, through XiHe, across the vast grassnds, all was safe. Bosti expined: "This area is under the jurisdiction of the Duke of JiLiMan, his territory is the safest!"

The reason was simple: there were no magical beasts in this area. In this world, magical beasts were the most valuable, making areas with them the most exciting and dangerous, with potential for both beast and human attacks.

Magic and Martial Arts Academy, located next to the monster-infested Magic Beast Forest in SuErSaSi city, perhaps had its purpose in such a yout, pcing students in a retively safe zone while providing training opportunities. To stay safe, don't leave campus; to improve, follow teachers to the forest's edge to gauge one's strength. They were all students, bound for many real battles ahead, hence training was generally safe, though accidents weren't ruled out.

Liu Sen finally saw the benefit of being talkative. The girl was indeed chatty, her father and brothers being merchants who traveled everywhere, brought rich experiences. From her stories, he learned much about the vast continent of Moka, home to countless races.

The west connected to Norton continent, with seas to the east and south, containing many strange and magical pces. The magic of the continent was also wondrous, beyond the usual wind, water, fire, earth, light, dark six systems, including many supplementary magics. Of course, she didn't understand these magics well, mostly using the word "magical." These words, coming from her, could never be considered excessive since her own power was just that, slightly magical.

She wasn't much interested in swordsmanship, rarely mentioning it, perhaps only her cousin who could chop down a rge tree with a single sword stroke impressed her, but because his magic couldn't match her brother's, she overlooked all the world's swordsmanship.

Liu Sen's most curious question finally came out: "Who is the most powerful magician in the world?"

Bosti thought hard, reluctantly excluding her father, despite his prowess, because his level seemed too low: level two. She also excluded Duke JiLiMan, as he was more about power than magic. Finally, she excitedly excimed: "Definitely the instructors at the academy, think about it, if they weren't the most powerful, how could they teach others magic?"

With her answer and expnation, the girl was triumphant. Liu Sen concluded: "The academy's instructors will definitely... definitely like you!" Such a clever girl, even bestowing the esteemed title of world's number one magician to the instructors, which instructor wouldn't like her?

Three days ter, a white city appeared ahead, majestic and noble, this was SuErSaSi city. The city, vast in area, stretched along broad streets, lined with shops, the Magic Guild and Adventure Guild appearing cleaner and more refined than elsewhere.

On the other side, close to the vast forest, stood a tall wall, a golden magic wand and sword crossing atop a white stone gatehouse, marking the Magic and Martial Arts Academy. A pce for the magic wand was the Magic Guild, for the sword, the Adventure Guild, but only at the Magic and Martial Arts Academy would wand and sword intersect.

Magic and Martial Arts Academy had its levels, the highest being the Royal Academy, with wand and sword made of white jade, unique in its existence. The second level was represented by these gold ones, four in total, spread in the cardinal directions. Below them were many more, Silver Academy, Miscelneous Academy, etc.

When adventure groups or magicians struggled, they could band together, find an empty room, tie their iron or wooden weapons with a rope at the door, and start a Magic and Martial Arts Academy, attracting only the lowest tier of students, those who might as well go back to farming after graduation.

His father sent him to this higher institution, hoping for his success. But what could he do? Initially, he thought to simply hand over his father's letter to Tutor Geli, who might take special care of him for his father's sake, but he didn't want to rely on his father. Why must he depend on others?

He had said, "I want to be the person I wish to be!" Be oneself! Why not start in this unfamiliar environment?

His reputation was too bad; bearing such a notorious name was uncomfortable, though he didn't care much. Here, as long as he didn't reveal it, no one would know he was Akrus, nor would anyone throw rotten eggs at him for no reason. Why not comfortably attend this extraordinary college? At least he could joke around with Bosti, listening to her chirping ughter, without seeing her disgusted gaze.

A gentle breeze stirred, and Liu Sen stretched his hand into the wind, numerous scraps of paper fluttering away—his father's letter.

The letter now in pieces, Liu Sen gently cpped: "Bosti, we can begin!"

"You know my name, but you haven't told me yours!" Bosti had actually asked him several times, but he had never directly answered.

"My name is a bit strange: Liu Sen!" Liu Sen's face wore a bright smile; this modern name indeed sounded odd in this world.

  "That's a nice name! Let's go!"

Side by side, they entered the beautiful and magnificent campus.
