Chapter 33) No more death

I move my view to Aster again, this time I find him in some type of room talking with the director of S.I.O.

Honestly, what even is S.I.O.? Their purpose seems to only be to mess with me.

The director, a guy named John, is asking Aster about his dreams.

Apparently Aster has had access to my city through his dreams.

He is connected to me, and I’m connected to the collective. I guess this makes sense.

  But why dreams?

I can think of a bunch of reasons, but they are all specutive and probably pointless.

The director also asks me if I know anything about me.

Ughh, being close to myself is distorting my sense of self just a little bit.

The director asks Aster if he knows anything about Asterios.

  Am I Asterios right now?

Not important, I just missed what he said.

“I see” says the director in response to Aster’s response.

“So” says the director, “you know there is someone else?”

  “Yes” responds Aster.

“Do you know his appearance?” ask the director, a curious almost cunning glint in his eyes.

“I’m not sure grandpa, I’ve never seen him.”

  Grandpa?

  Is he Aster’s grandpa?

Why are so many of my- Aster’s family members tied in some weird organization?

I listen for a few more minutes after this, where Aster recounts his explorations of the city, how it felt like home.

Does the city feel like home to me too? A good piece of me is there.

Should I do a big reveal on my connection to Aster to clear up the situation? No, I’ve done a couple big reveals recently.

But, seeing as the director of S.I.O. is the grandfather of Aster, he probably wont hurt him.

Even if he does, that body is also probably immortal.

I might just project immortality onto Aster.

“There’s someone here” says Aster while looking at me. I’m still trying to figure out how to avoid arousing suspicion for Aster, when that stops me.

Not this again with people seeing my outside view. Well he is me, so this makes more sense than the priestess. Stop giving people clues little me!

The director also looks at me, but says “I see nothing?”

“But they’re right there!” Aster says while pointing at me.

I wave at the little me and he waves back.

  We sit in awkward silence.

  We just observe.

This may be the first time where I’ve really interacted with a significant portion of me that can form more complex ideas.

We probably won’t fight or anything in the future, we are one and the same!

“Is it the fox?” asks John.

“I’m not sure” says Aster while looking at me, his face in a scrutinizing expression.

  “We feel connected” Aster says.

At this point Aster might literally give everything away, what’s the point of trying to maintain a little bit of mystery if you sabotage yourself.

“What does it look like?” asks my or Aster’s grandpa.

  “They change” Aster replies.

  What do I look like?

Not like I have a mirror to reflect the soul.

I think I can just split a piece of my outside view.

  I look crazy.

  Shifting all over the pce.

I can kind of read stuff on me, like body nguage but not.

  “They split” says Aster.

I don’t think I- Aster has figured out the truth yet, he still looks a bit confused.

I just realized, shouldn’t grandpa-John be more panicky over the situation?

Does he have some type of Trump card?

Probably not one he can use on me.

I’ll tell Aster that I’m a god, but won’t specify that I’m Asterios. Don’t want to Alert anyone to the possibility of Aster being me.

If I leave a revetion as big as that, they might be thrown off a little bit.

Also, there might be more powerful people than the director, better be careful.

I look at me, and say “I’m a god.”

Unfazed, Aster asks “what do you want?”

I need to come up with another idea than I want to throw off the trail a little bit.

“I’ve come to grant you a wish.”

He’s me, any idea shouldn’t be that bad or something I’m opposed to.

“Any wish?” he asks a sparkle in his eyes.

  “Yes” I answer.

“Can you eliminate death?” he asks.

  Hmm…

That’s a big ask, and sounds good, but that might lead to some major problems, like children not being born immortal.

I’m just gonna grant myself this wish, but only for this pnet, just to see how it goes.

Well, not just this one, their entire society.

  Anyway, time to reply, “Sure.”

I snap my ethereal fingers and project immortal to all Wolf beastkin.

Then I project can’t conceive new children.

Don’t want overpopution to flood everything.

But what about people who want children you ask reader?

Maybe I’ll take that off when someone wants a baby or something.

I can imagine what would happen if there is alien life out there when meeting immortal people.

If they just have more and more children, life would be insane.

Honestly, why didn’t I think of this earlier, this is probably the best thing I could do.

No death? What could possibly go wrong?

“What did you say?” asks the director to Aster.

“I asked them to eliminate death” replies Aster.

The director looks confused, “and what did it say? I assume no. I doubt anyone could.”

“They’re a god” says Aster matter of factly.

  “What?” asks the director.

“They are a god” responds Aster, “they said yes to my request.”

The director responds “they are not a god, they are lying to you.”

  “I believe them” says Aster.

“Why?” asks the director, “they could be anything. They are supernatural as in not natural, they might be trying to trick you.”

This sounds like it’s going to be a boring back and forth argument.

I think I need to find some other god-things to do. I’ll check back in ter
