Chapter 34: The Earth Spirit, the Woman and the Dog (Part 1)

In fact, Jenns plan is not only related to them, but also has a very deep relationship. It can even be said that in this plan of Jenns, Enyo, Vilna and Iris are the main characters.

The reason is simple, as mentioned before, the earth spirit is a creature that bullies the weak and fears the strong. The old, weak, sick, disabled and pregnant are their favorite targets, while the dwarves are all robust and majestic, they dont seem like easy prey at all, its really not an easy task to make them as bait to lure the earth spirits into a trap.

However, the three girls were different. Vilna was not good to say, but Enyo and Iris were the kind of roles that looked good no matter how they were bullied. If they were seen by the goblins, they would definitely rush out with drooling mouths. To be honest, even if it wasnt a goblin, there might be few races that wouldnt take action when seeing these three beautiful girls.

Jians plan was to use the three girls to attract the attention of the main force of the goblins, and then, while they were away, lead the others in a direct attack on the goblin lair. Enoia, Iris, and Vilna only needed to pretend to be weak and lure the goblin main force into the dwarves encirclement, and then work with the others to wipe them out in one fell swoop. If any goblins escaped, it didnt matter, because according to their nature, they would definitely want to return to their lair. At that time, Jian only needed to wait for them to come to him, and he could finish them off easily.

For this plan, Enya, Verna and Eris all had no objections. Enya was Jans deputy officer, even if it were a knife mountain fire sea as long as it was Jans order she wouldnt frown and would directly jump down. Verna being a dark elf, dealing with earth elves wasnt a problem. As for Eris, there was even more no need to mention, a high-ranking mage who couldnt even deal with a group of earth elves should just hang themselves.

Tuo Ge didnt show any significance, dealing with such a weak and pitiful creature like Di Jing, strategies were originally unnecessary if not for preventing them from escaping. Everyone didnt even need to waste time discussing tactics here. Directly finding the old nest and rolling up sleeves, one word was enough - just do it.

After determining their respective divisions, Enyo, Vilna and Iris each led a team of dwarves to set up ambushes and prepare for the work of luring the goblins. Zhan then took Tog and other gray dwarves to quietly hide in a corner of the tunnel, waiting silently. Due to previous reconnaissance, Zhan was very familiar with the terrain in this area. He not only knew where the goblin lair was but also when they would come out to hunt for food and which path they would take. The route Zhan chose could avoid the goblins search, grasp their movements, and reach the goblin lair in the shortest time, a perfect choice that achieved three goals at once.

Of course, not everyone has confidence like Zhan Ens.

"I asked the law master, are you really sure that the lair of those earth spirits is just over there?"

Torg grasped the massive iron axe with both hands, gazing out into the dark passageway while asking in a puzzled tone. It was no wonder he had doubts, for Jann and the others were currently at the edge of the Brandonstone Castles patrol area. Although it wasnt particularly safe here, the grey dwarf patrols would occasionally pass through this way. Torg couldnt believe that those damned goblins would build their lair in a place like this.

"Its not like Im saying, we dwarves have patrolled this area several times before, and havent seen any signs of goblin dens. If those accursed hybrids are living so close to us, why havent we discovered them all these years?"

"I have already dispatched my most beloved hunting dog for investigation, and it can be naturally confirmed that their lair is indeed here......"

Here, Zhan En couldnt help but sigh in admiration. Although he had known that the earth spirits lair was here before, he wasnt very clear about the situation on this side. Until after investigating and confirming the situation of the earth spirits lair, even Zhan En couldnt help but exclaim that the dark region indeed hid dragons and tigers. The fact that such a stupid race like the earth spirits could survive independently in such an evil and dark place without becoming the vassals or slaves of other races was truly remarkable.

  But unfortunately, it ended there.

  "Hunting dog?"

But when he heard Zhan Ens words, Tuo Ge let out a grunt.

"How come I didnt see you bring any hunting dogs?"

  "Its been here all along."

As he spoke, Zhan En glanced at Tuo Ges back, and noticing Zhan Ens gaze, Tuo Ge hesitated for a moment before turning his head to look behind him. Suddenly, his eyes widened in shock, and he took several steps backward. Then, the massive axe in his hand was raised abruptly, blocking his own front.

  "Rock on! What the heck!!"

All Torg saw was a gigantic, alien creature crawling silently up the dark, cold wall just two meters away from the dwarf captain. But Torg didnt sense anything, no temperature, no sound, no smell. If it werent for his eyes seeing this terrifying and strange creature right in front of him, Torg would have thought he was dreaming!

The alien, however, was completely oblivious to Torgs reaction, even with the sharp and massive axe just a fingers distance away from itself. It simply lowered its head, let out a faint, high-pitched screech unique to its kind, then turned around and climbed upwards, disappearing into the darkness before Torg could even react.

  "Hiss………"

As Torg watched this scene unfold, he couldnt help but take a deep breath of cold air. As a dwarf, he was indeed not as cunning and sinister as his fellow dwarves, which is why he could only be assigned to command such a motley crew. However, as a dwarf warrior, Torg had great confidence in his own abilities - he was one of the rare high-ranking warriors among the dwarves. Otherwise, Kardak wouldnt have let him live this long. Of course, since he didnt get along with the dwarven authorities, Kardak often assigned him to do dangerous tasks. If Torg were to die or get injured in the process, it would be no loss for Kardak. And this time was no exception - Kardaks decision to send Torg to assist Jarn was also motivated by similar considerations.

Its precisely because of this that Torg has not had few dealings with his own army and the various evil creatures in the dark realm, let alone the dwarves, and even the petrified lizards and terrorclaws are not unfamiliar to him, and the number of sneak attacks he has experienced is countless.

But even so, Tog had never seen such a terrifying monster - the stone was on top, and if that monster really wanted his life just now, he wouldnt even have time to react!!

This sorcerer can actually command such a terrifying creature...

Tog swallowed involuntarily and to be honest, he was already uneasy about this mission from the start, now it looked even more unsettling.

  "Squeak!! Caw caw caw!!!"

Just then, a shrill cry from afar broke into Torgs thoughts, and he hastily turned his head to signal to his subordinates. Soon, the gray dwarf warriors who received the order extinguished their torches and vigilantly gazed around.

That chaotic and shrill screaming grew louder, Tog knew of course that this was the sign that those goblins had found their target and were excitedly chasing after it. It seemed that the wizards plan had taken effect, as for the fate of those women, Tog didnt care. Since the wizard did so, he must have his reasons, for now, Tog just needed to follow orders.

Soon the noisy voices faded away, and after making sure that the dwarves had completely left, Jian led the other gray dwarf warriors to move forward silently.

It has to be admitted that for the dwarves, sneaking around was just too difficult. No matter how lightly they tread, the sound of their armor clanking against each other echoed loudly in the silent corridors. But Jain didnt care, he had already sent all the mutants to search and scout ahead, and from the information fed back by the mutants, Jain could be certain that there were no more troubles around - except for those goblins.

"I asked the law master, where exactly is the lair of those earth spirits?"

Following Zhan Ens lead, Tuo Ge couldnt help but ask. He had led the patrol team on patrols outside many times and was very familiar with this route. Although it was remote, there shouldnt be a large space that could accommodate hundreds of goblins here, right?

  "Just quietly follow me."

In response to Togs inquiry, Zhan En didnt seem to have any intention of answering. Instead, he led the dwarf with a limp to a relatively empty passageway. Unlike other passageways, however, one could clearly hear the sound of "gurgling" water from here.

At the sound of this, Torg grunted in distaste. Underground water veins were not actually that rare a thing in the depths. However, for the dwarves, they were deeply detestable. A dwarf would rather drown in a barrel of ale than let his body soak in a pool of water. They considered it an insult to their kind to have any liquid other than ale spilled on their bodies. To them, ordering a dwarf to take a bath was as unthinkable as a king ordering his knight to slaughter unarmed infants.

So the Grey Dwarves generally try to stay as far away from these places as possible in order to avoid some unnecessary trouble.

However, Jian Er didnt seem to care about the dwarves disgust and led them all the way to the end of the passage. Soon, a pond appeared before everyones eyes.

Its called a pool, but its just a water pit more than half a meter deep. Perhaps because of the underground water vein flowing above, the seeping water drips down from the ceiling, forming a small waterfall between the stone walls. Everywhere is filled with humid water vapor and emerald green moss. Just coming here makes many dwarf warriors faces full of disgusted expressions, as if they were about to die.

  "Its right here."

He took a glance around, and without saying anything else, Zhan En stepped into the pond. Just as he reached the waterfall at the corner of the wall, suddenly, the short and stout people only saw a flash before their eyes, and in the next moment, Zhan Ens figure had vanished from their sight!!

  Whats going on?
