Ep. 1334 Final Raid Part 3

“Noted. Alright, is my presence going to interfere? Should I leave or can I stay and watch?”

Krenocia says “You can stay if you want, but there isn’t going to be much to watch. I am just going to drain the energy out of the realm. There shouldn’t be any visible effects.”

“Oh. What is going to happen to the realm?”

Krenocia says “It will slowly die over the next couple of hundred years unless Holos returns and replenishes the energy.”

“What happens when a realm dies??”

Krenocia says “It will lose its place in the divine realm and float around in the common plane until it crashes into something and breaks apart.”

“This place is pretty big, if it were to hit a planet that would be a disaster!”

Krenocia says “That won’t happen, unless it is a planet without gods. Any god would sense a dead realm approaching and either destroy it, redirect it, or absorb it into its own realm.”

“Does that mean that you could absorb this realm into yours?”

Krenocia says “Only after it is dead. Holos presence prevents it from being absorbed currently.”

“That makes sense. So, how much power will you be able to drain from it?”

Krenocia says “To put it in terms you will understand, it should be about as much as I would gain from getting another thirty to forty thousand followers.”

  “Wow, that’s a lot!”

Krenocia says “Yes, it is, and it is power that Holos will permanently lose. Now you should understand why gods guard their realms so seriously.”

“Yes, I do. It is probably a good thing that people who can gate anywhere they have been are rare. Speaking of, I should figure out a way to get Seronia to invite me to her realm so I can visit whenever I want.”

Krenocia says “That shouldn’t be too hard and if you ask nicely, I can tell you where she bathes. I heard from Lin that you like peeking!”

“That was one time! It was also inside a soulscape, so it doesn’t count! Besides, I am not going to spy on a goddess, there are far too many stories of that ending badly for mortals.”

Krenocia says “She wouldn’t mind! In fact, she would probably be happy if she caught you peeping on her. She might act mad, but it would be just an act.”

“Not happening! Let’s just drop it! Instead of trying to get me in trouble, why don’t you start stealing energy?”

Krenocia says “Start? I have been absorbing energy the entire time we have been talking! I told you that there wouldn’t be anything to see.”

“I expected you to at least cast a spell or something!”

Krenocia says “At the divine level spells work a lot differently. I just form the runes in my mind and channel energy into them. It is a lot more like your normal method of using magic than the spells that Lin uses.”

“The structure of the spells that Lin uses have their uses. My method is a lot less stable and as such not as much mana can be put into it.”

Krenocia says “That will change with practice. It also helps to have the runes in your head, they provide stability. You don’t have any problem with stability when you are using divine power, do you?”

“No, I don’t. I wonder if learning the draconic language will do the same for my mana based spells?”

Krenocia says “It would, but learning draconic is not easy to do. You can only learn it from a dragon and they don’t like sharing.”

“I already have a dragon that is willing to teach it to me. I just have to evolve one more time first. That is why I am planning a hunting trip to the land bridge once I have some other things taken care of.”

Krenocia says “He really agreed to teach you their language? That is going to be a huge change to how you use magic. You will simply need to think in the draconic language and you will be able to cast spells with more structure. You will be able to cast spells very similar to how we gods do.”

“I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait, but I still have a lot of things that I want to do before I leave for a while. I especially want to get the government up and running since it will just get harder the longer I put it off.”

Krenocia says “Then what are you doing, wasting time here? Go get to work!”

“I didn’t want to just run off and have you think I am ungrateful. I can spare some time to keep you company while you drain the energy from the realm.”

Krenocia says “It is going to take me several hours to completely drain it. I could do it faster, but I want Holos to suffer.”

“Well, I am certainly not going to argue against that. Alright, I will go and get to work on what I need to do. Thank you for your help.”

Krenocia says “What are you talking about? You are the one helping me and my sister to get stronger!”

“You are helping me punish Holos, just because you get something out of it doesn’t mean I can’t show my gratitude. Besides, now that Seronia has the mine, I can get more ore if I need it.”

Krenocia says “That’s true and it would be a good way to get invited to her realm.”

“Yes, I know. Anyway, I will see you later. I am going to go get some more crafting done.”

Krenocia says “Sounds good. Contact us if you need anything.”

Krenocia gives me a hug and a long kiss goodbye, then I open a gate back to the castle. As soon as I am back I start smelting the ore and making the alloy that I have been using. Once all the ore is done, I take half the alloy and put it away with what I saved previously.

However, before I start making more equipment, I head upstairs to get some food and check on the kids. Asuna and Mulan aren’t here, they should still be with Bella learning tattooing. I find the rest of the kids in the new arts room in their human forms and they seem to be having fun.

At least, judging from the mess the art room is in, they are having a lot of fun. I spend some time chatting with them and looking at what they have made so far. I don’t know much about the arts, so I can’t really give them any advice, but as long as they are enjoying themselves it doesn’t really matter.

They are having fun from what they tell me, so I consider this effort a success. Whether or not any of them will pick up a hobby from this remains to be seen, but I am not worried. Even if they don’t, the fact that they got a few hours of entertainment makes it worth the gold I spent.
