Ep. 1335 To-Do List Part 8

Besides, I had a lot of fun going shopping with Lin, which means I need to go shopping with Myria. Although, to keep things fair, I should probably take Myria somewhere different. Maybe Demon Hunter City would be good, she would probably enjoy seeing it considering the stories she has heard.

It will have to wait until after she comes back from the land bridge, if I can remember. Hopefully I will be back from my hunting trip by then, but we will see how things work out. For now, I spend a bit more time with the kids and then head back to my workshop.

This time I do things a little differently, I use Divided Mind but only let half my mind focus on crafting. With the other half I start planning out the new enchantments for the capital city. Luckily, most of the enchantments don’t need to be changed, just translated from elven.

While elven is fine for enchantments and I do know it, I want all the enchantments in one language. It would probably be better to wait until after I learn draconic, but I have no idea how long that will take. I don’t want to put everything off for an unknown amount of time, I have put things off too much.

The enchantments are necessary for my plans to establish the government, so I need to do this. Luckily, the city is well made so all I am really doing is redoing the enchantments. If I had to upgrade the city as well, this would be a much bigger project than I want to do right now.

So, I spend my time planning out the enchantments and working on the new enchantments that I need. The hardest part is going to be the upgrades to the system that the crown offers. If I hadn’t learned how to program golems I wouldn’t have a chance of making it work.

The one thing I am going to have to do is build a core to hold the programming for the system. I plan to build it into the throne itself, that should be a safe enough place for it. It is also a place no one should think to look, after all who hides things inside a big stone chair?”

It isn’t something that I would think of doing if I hadn’t gotten so good at manipulating things using mana. Thanks to that, I should be able to open the throne, put the core inside, and make it back into a solid piece. There won’t be any hidden compartment door for someone to find and try to open.

Not that anyone would be able to do anything with the core even if they did find it. They might be able to steal it, but they wouldn’t get far since I would be able to track it. Of course, that is only while I am still alive, but there is only so much that I can worry about.

I will keep my crown as the master control unit, but I will add additional crowns for Lin and Myria. They will have almost as much authority in the system as I do, but I will need more than that. I want the governors and ministers to at least be able to use the system, but I don’t want to give them crowns. I will probably use something like necklaces or amulets to give them less access.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

I would use rings, but they would probably be too small for the amount of enchantments that they will need. A nice ornate amulet, maybe with my face on it, should work and will also serve as a symbol of authority. I actually like the idea of a stylized image of my head as a symbol for the new government.

My head looks a lot like a dragon’s and that has always been a good decoration in my opinion. Besides, it should be easy enough for me to create them since my artistic talent is limited. Even better, it should be something that I can make by casting so that they are all identical.

Although, I should probably do something to differentiate the different levels of authority. The easiest way is probably to use gems for the eyes and have the color of the gems symbolize the level. One for the ministers, one for the governors, and one for mayors should work.

Of course, there will be others at those levels of authority, but it is easier to just group them together. It will also make it easier later when I need to add more people to the government. If I do a good enough job setting things up, I will have to do a lot less work later.

That is my real goal, I want to have less that I need to do personally later so that I can be lazy. Although lazy is probably the wrong word since what I really want is time to explore and adventure. I don’t know if it is going to be possible, but I intend to try and take a shot at it.

I doubt that I will be able to get rid of all my responsibilities, but if I can get rid of most of them I will be happy. Whatever I can’t avoid, I can always try and get my wives to take care of for me. Of course, getting them to do it will have its own price, but that I am more than willing to pay.

I will just have to wait and see how well the system turns out, but planning it out properly will help. I already know that planning out new enchantments properly works a lot better. Mainly because once I write them out I can have Lin go over them and look for mistakes or improvements.

Having her help me out saves me lots of time since I don’t need to learn all the magical knowledge myself. I will probably never be as good as her at the technical aspects of magic, but that’s fine. Judging from what Krenocia said, I shouldn’t need that once I learn the draconic language.

Although, it is probably going to take me a while to learn how to do enchantments in a new language. Once I do, I can always come back and redo the enchantments for the city, if I have the time. At that point it would just be translating everything, which should be easier.

The longest part of doing the enchantments now is going to be figuring out the new enchantments and making sure there are no conflicts. The conflicts are going to be the hardest part since I won’t be able to get any help with them. I am going to try and prevent them through planning, but I doubt that I will be able to stop them all.

In fact, I can practically guarantee that I won’t be able to stop them all, there are too many enchantments. I will be lucky if I can just predict how all of them are going to interact with each other. Even if I try, I won’t be able to be sure if I was right until I actually do the enchantments.
