Ep. 1287 Upgrading the Castle Part 4

  Mulan says "Hi, dad."

  "Hi. So, how is it?"

Mulan says "It's good. Maybe not quite as good as going to the plane, but still beneficial."

Nala says "I think it's better. After all, we don't have to keep someone on guard all the time."

"But it does work as a training area?"

Mushu says "Yes, it does. It also feels really good!"

"Great. Did you guys also try going to the plane of magma?"

Mushu says "Yes, we did, but it didn't work out very well."

  "How so?"

Nala says "It was too hot for me, I couldn't stay there."

Mushu says "It was great! I loved it!"

Mulan says "I could handle the heat, but I didn't gain any benefits from it. Only Mushu did."

"In that case, Mushu, should I build a magma training room for you?"

Mushu says "Yes, please. If it is not too much trouble."

"Sure, it is no trouble at all. I can connect it to the fire room so that you can go back and forth whenever you want."

Mushu says "That would be great!"

So, with the kids watching, I create another room and connect it to the plane of magma. Then I tie it into the enchantments so that Jarvis can control it, just like the others. I notice that when I add another connection, the existing connections seem to get stronger.

I wasn't paying enough attention to notice it before, but they seem to resonate with each other. That means that something interesting might happen when I add the connection to the plane of lightning. At that point, all of the elemental planes will be connected to the castle.

I am curious about what will happen, almost enough to go make the connection right now. Yet if I do that then I won't be able to use my bad until after I manage to evolve. It could be a while before I am able to evolve and I don't want to lose my bath for that long.

So, as usual, my curiosity is just going to have to wait and torment me for a while. However, I have gotten pretty used to that with all the unanswered questions I have. At this point, I doubt that I will ever get to the point that my curiosity isn't bugging me.

If anything, as time passes I am more likely to have more unanswered questions. My curiosity is basically a constant torment, but it's not like there is a way to remove it. For whatever reason, even though I am less cat-like now, my curiosity just keeps getting stronger.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

It is almost as if, the more that I learn about this world, the more that I need to know. At times, it is almost enough to drive me insane, that is if I am not already insane. While I don't think I am, there are several others who seem to think that I am.

Jarvis informs me that the rest of the kids have returned, so I head up to meet them. Then I explain to them about the various training grounds around the castle. As soon as I am done talking, Kechara, Asuna, and Albion head to test them out.

That leaves Haku and Ekard with nothing to do, so I spend some time with them. As they are telling me about their adventure in the shadow plane, I have a thought. I know how to make connections and I know the coordinates of the shadow plane, so can I make a connection to it?

If I do, will it act like the connections to the elemental planes, or will it be different? I have never seen an edge to the shadow plane, so I can't go look for connections. The only way to know if it will work would be to try it, but that might be dangerous.

The other problem is that I don't think Ekard trains that way, he just eats things from the shadow plane. That might be something he won't need until he is an adult shadow drake. I should probably wait for that experiment until after I add the last elemental connection.

For now, I think I am going to call the upgrade of the castle done and move on to other projects. I still have a lot of crafting to do and I also need to go convince the other tribes to join us. Before that, I need to build my soul palace, I am not going to put that off any longer.

That will actually be the next thing I do, just as soon as I am done spending time with the kids. I spend time with them until all of them are back from training, all the areas work. Once the kids are all back, we have a meal together and then watch a couple of movies.

As soon as all the kids have fallen asleep, I turn my attention to creating my soul palace. I first enter into my meditation and then follow the dragon's instructions. Where I turn my attention outwards to reach the hallway, this time I turn it inwards.

I am looking for the space where I will build my soul palace, but it isn't inside my body. The dragon gave me an explanation, but it sounded like religious mumbo jumbo. All I really paid attention to is that I need to look beneath the surface.

That to me means that it is in a different layer of reality from my actual body. I'm not sure if that is what the dragon really meant, but that is what I am going to look for. Basically, I just keep looking for deeper and deeper areas inside my body until I break through a barrier.

Then I find myself in a small space, it is only about ten foot by ten foot. This is barely enough space to build a single room, I don't see how this is supposed to become a palace. Just out of curiosity, I spread my will and try to push the walls of the space outwards.

However, I quickly exhaust myself and when I check the walls have only moved about an inch. Well, now I know what the dragon meant by using time and hard work. I am definitely going to have to get some items to help the space grow.

After a little experimenting, I find that I can design and decorate the space any way I want. It doesn't even take any energy to do so and it seems like things will stay how I set them. All in all, it is very similar to my meditation room in regards to how it functions.

However, when I test out the storage of knowledge, meaning manga, I am very disappointed. As it stands currently, I can only store a couple of manga series before it is full. I am going to have to expand it majorly just to save the manga that I want to keep.

That's not even counting the anime, movies, and other things that I want to save. It looks like I am going to have to develop it into an actual palace at the least. I really hope that the materials to help expand it aren't too expensive.
