However, it quickly backfires when Lin joins in on Mercy’s side leaving me outnumbered. I hold up for a few minutes, but in the end I give up and retreat to my workshop. Lin knows me too well and it is really hard for me to win against her, especially when she has help.

  Besides, I still have a lot of work to do, so it isn’t really that I am running away. With my mind settled down, I start building a prototype for the scouting golem. I want to build a few myself, looking for problems and improvements, before I finalize the blueprint.

  These first few probably won’t be all that good, but they should still be useful to Jarvis. I make a total of five prototypes before I can’t find any more improvements to make. After that, I turn them over to Jarvis so that he can start mapping and I start on the crafter.

  The crafter golem is a lot more complicated and requires a lot more trial and error. The main problem that I run into is that the golem needs to be strong but still able to do detailed work. The fingers especially are going to take me a lot of time to get just right.

  However, they are going to be the most important part of the golem, so I have to get them right. Comparatively, the rest of the golem is easy, just a humanoid body. I have made several like that already, so once I finally get the fingers and hands done, the rest is cake.

  The only other thing that takes some time is programming the golem to follow the blueprint. I have to program it to follow it step by step, which while not hard, does take some time. After that, I easily finish the rest of the programming, including some extra security measures.

  Once everything is done, I have the golem follow its programming and build a scout golem. It doesn’t build it as fast as I can, but that isn’t surprising and I am not worried about it. The only thing that matters is that the golem it builds is correct, which it is.

  At that point, I turn over control of the crafter to Jarvis and let him worry about how many scouts he wants. The scouts are made of normal materials, so even if they use them all up I won’t care. Materials like that, they are common, I can just go buy more whenever I need to.

  As I am thinking about the materials, I realize that I made a mistake and call the crafter back. I taught him how to use an alloy to make the scouts, but I forgot to teach it how to make more alloy. Luckily, it is easy enough to do, it just would have been a pain if I didn’t catch it.

  Once that is fixed, I head upstairs planning to take a nap, it has been a while since I slept. However, when I enter the main room I find that everyone but Lin and Mercy has left. The two of them are sitting side by side facing the stairs as if they are waiting for me.

  “Um, what’s up? Did you need something?”

  Lin says “It is time to make things official, but Mercy here is too shy. So I am going to get things moving.”

  “Meaning?!”

  Lin says “Take Mercy upstairs and make her yours. Then head to the capital and do the same with Brightfire.”

  As Lin is talking, Mercy’s face turns tomato red and she looks down at her lap to avoid my gaze. It makes her extremely cute and I find myself inclined to do exactly what Lin told me to do. This entire time I have only really been thinking about the problems having multiple wives will cause, not the benefits.

  So, I shapeshift into human form, walk over to stand beside Mercy, and raise her chin with a finger. She is still blushing like crazy as I lean over to give her a passionate kiss, but she instantly kisses me back. She may be shy and embarrassed, but it is obvious that she also wants this to happen.

  Just to be sure, after ending the kiss I ask her if this is what she wants to happen. She can’t seem to talk at the moment, but she does manage a small nod which is enough for me. I gently pick her up out of the chair and then I carry her upstairs to the bedroom.

  Due to Marcy’s shyness there are a few awkward moments, but we manage to get through them. Mercy is inexperienced, so I take things slow and give her time to learn and adjust. Eventually, she gets over her shyness and that is when things get really fun.

  However, since it is her first time I am extra careful and make sure to be gentle with her. Eventually Mercy can’t handle any more and she falls deeply asleep in my arms. By that point, even I am feeling tired so I let myself fall asleep for a few hours.

  When I wake up, I find that Lin snuck in at some point and I am now in between the two of them. When I roll over Lin wakes up and smiles at me, but Mercy is still dead to the world. Lin wraps her arms around me and starts kissing me, which quickly leads to other things.

  Luckily, the bed is big enough for us to have our fun without disturbing Mercy. Lin ends up making enough noise to wake the dead, but Mercy somehow sleeps through all of it. When we are done, Lin goes back to sleep and I carefully get out of bed and leave the room.

  I am a little worried about how Mercy is going to react when she wakes up next to Lin, but she will have to get used to it. I am confident that Lin will handle any situation that comes up, but it would be fun to watch. Unfortunately, I don’t have that kind of free time, I still have things to do before I can leave.

  No one is around when I head downstairs, so I get to eat my breakfast in peace. Then I head down to my workshop and start making and enchanting more of the small obelisks. While I am working on that I ask Jarvis to bring me any books in the library that have clone type spells.

  Thanks to Divided Mind, I can keep working on obelisks as I skim through the books. Unfortunately, it seems that clones are not a popular type of magic in this world. Jarvis only brings me three books and none of the spells in them are what I am looking for.

  I will have to ask Lin later if she has come across anything in the new library, but I don’t have high hopes. In the end, I will probably have to come up with the spell I need on my own, or with Lin’s help. That will depend on whether or not Lin likes the idea of their being two of me around.

  Since I can split my mind in two, I should be able to control two bodies at once. I don’t know if I will be able to go beyond that, but even just another body would be a huge help. If nothing else, it would just need to be affectionate with the girls while I am off doing other things.
