Of course, before I let Lin get out of my lap I spend some time kissing her and fooling around. I am not aiming for anything more, just making sure to show her some affection. I don’t ever want her to think that I take her for granted, or that other things are more important than her.
After a while, Lin gets up and chases me off, but she is laughing as she does it. I use the gate in the bedroom to return to the palace and then go looking for Mercy. Using my mana, I track her to a shopping district where I find her with Brightfire and Core.
I was thinking about sneaking up on them, but all the people bowing to me gives me away. I am not in a rush, so I join the three of them and accompany them as they shop. As we are walking around, I explain my planned hunting trip to Mercy and the reason for it.
Mercy says “I am sad that we don’t have more time together, but I understand. Besides, I have a lot of things to take care of as well. There are people who are not going to be happy about my decision to bring my kingdom into your empire.”
“I understand. We will have more time together in the future. If there is anything that I can help with, just let me know.”
Mercy says “Luckily, you have a very good reputation amongst my people. That is going to make this a lot easier than it would have been.”
“That’s good. Still, if anyone causes you problems, let me know. Even if I can’t come myself, I have plenty of capable people I can send to help you.”
Mercy says “Thanks. I will keep that in mind.”
Brightfire says “Are you leaving right now?”
“No. I still have an enchantment to add to the system, but I am waiting for Lin to look it over.”
Brightfire says “So, do you have time to have lunch with us?”
“Sure.”
Brightfire says “Great!”
So, I end up accompanying the three of them to lunch once they finish their shopping. We keep our conversation casual and I try to keep Core from feeling left out. After lunch we head back to the palace, where we separate from Core, and head inside.
At Mercy’s request, we head to the suite to have some fun before she has to leave. Since I might not see her for a while, not until the wedding at least, I agree to her request. I am expecting her to ask Brightfire to leave so she can have some private time with me, but that doesn’t happen.
Instead, Mercy directly brings Brightfire in to join us and I am not about to complain. We are having a lot of fun when suddenly the gate activates and Lin comes through. Seeing what is currently happening, Lin puts some papers on the desk and then joins us on the bed.

Several hours later, I find myself once again exhausted, but not feeling sleepy at all. It would be a perfect time to take a bath and relax, but moving would mean waking up someone. Instead, I use my mana to float a manga over to myself and start reading it.
I was getting worried that the girls would sleep through the night, but luckily their hunger wakes them up. I have already read a couple of manga by the time they wake up wanting dinner. Thanks to the pouch we don’t need to go anywhere to be able to eat dinner together.
After we are done eating, the three of them are planning to go back to sleep, so I get up. Before I can leave, Lin tells me that the pages she put on the desk are my enchantment. I quickly grab them and leave the room before the temptation of them on the bed makes me change my mind.
However, I also grab the rest of the manga in the series I was reading and take it with me. Then I head to the throne room, sit in my throne, and start reading through the enchantment. I want to see what Lin changed so that I can learn from it and see if I can find anything else to improve.
Unlike other enchantments, this one would be hard to remove because of the data it will collect. It would cost too much mana to scan someone and determine their potential. So, the enchantment is going to scan everyone covered by the system a bit at a time and store the data.
Then, when someone with the system inspects them, it will show the collected data. That means that it won’t be very accurate at first, but it will improve with time. However, this is the only way I could think of to get it to work without using a huge amount of mana.
Besides, having complete data on everyone in my kingdom can come in handy in several situations. The only problem is that that much information could be dangerous if used improperly. So, I also plan to add some security measures as to who can inherit access to the system.
I trust the people that I am giving access to personally, but I can’t be sure of people they may choose in the future. I have thought about making Jarvis the administrator, but I am not comfortable giving him too much power. It is nothing against Jarvis, it is just leftover worries from watching certain movies.
I am actually thinking that Kechara would be a much better choice, but I don’t want to force it on her. I will wait a while and then discuss it with her and see if that is something she would be willing to do. Out of the kids, Kechara is the most mature, but she is also the oldest, so it makes sense.
Next to her, surprisingly Mulan is the next most mature, but that might be due to her previous lives. If you count her past lives, Mulan might be even older than the dragon, but that is just a guess. If Kechara decides that she doesn’t want to do it, Mulan would be my next choice.
It isn’t really important right now, it is something I will need to deal with later. For now, I will just add a setting so that others cannot grant system access above the basic level. The basic level should be enough for anyone newly recruited and I can always grant them more later.
As to the enchantment, Lin made several small improvements, but I can’t find any more to add. So, I add the enchantment to the system, which takes me about an hour. After that, it only takes me a few minutes to add some security measures and then I am done.
Technically, I could leave right now to head towards the land bridge, but I won’t. I will wait until the girls wake up and I can say a proper goodbye before leaving. They apparently already have enough worries about me running away without me making it worse.
