AnnouncementSo I was sick most of this st week and got nothing written due both the illness and the meds. so only going to be 1 chapter again next week. Sorry. Chapter 62- Observations
Earth- Outside of home, over an Ocean- (Do dates matter?)
Him
He was a couple of, miles? Him thinks that's what they're called, from the odd yet amazing flying metal structure. Him had been on his way back home, after his exploring of the western continents. He was both surprised and shocked at how selfish life was and yet was also very complicated.
While he had expected the animals to only care about themselves and their cubs, he was a little surprised to see that even the humans, the dominant life form on this world were about the same. Some even killed and destroyed just for something as little as money.
'I can kind of see why the mage is so disgusted by the idea of currency.' Him thought, as he again scanned over the object that had caught his attention with his powers. He had glimpsed something completely new, and he wondered what it was. It took him a moment to find it again, they had moved to another room on the flying building.
Wondering what they were, he flew to the main open deck of the flying building. The humans who saw him stared and pointed as he passed them. He thought it odd that they needed masks, but he didn't question them. When he came to a metal door, Him tilted his head, and the door opened for him. Once open he continued heading for the room with the odd people in it.
Him got to a stairwell, before red lights turned on, and loud noises started bring all around in the building. There were other closed doors, which he somehow just opened. He wasn't sure what he was doing to them. He knew it wasn't the magic that Nath'aniel was teaching his disciple. But Him knew that he was maniputing them something when he was opening them as he was.
A loud bark noise preceded a small fast object striking his back, the pain this impact caused was even less than what White Tiger had given him back when he was first released. It didn't annoy him, not yet, but still, he was curious about what caused it. So he turned around and saw a human with one of the many pea-spitting devices he had seen in the western continents.
Recalling one of Nath'ainel's reminders to his disciple, Him reached into himself and willed some stored energy out of him. A line of cold fired from his outstretched hand causing ice to manifest and block the mouth of the pea spitter. Then he continued in his search of the anomalies.
Caution and worry increased from the minds around Him, but ignored it as he knew that he neared his anomaly. He found the hatch to the chamber that Him sought, and he repeated whatever it was that he had done to the previous obstructions. Yet this time the door remained the way he found it.
"Curious." Him muttered before nding and walking towards the hatch. However, before he could attempt to force the mechanism, more barking sounds and more small objects struck him and the hatch and walls beside him.
After a moment they stopped, and a voice addressed him. "Intruder you are aboard a cssified and protected vessel! You will identify yourself and expin how you got aboard!"
Him turned back towards the speaker. There were half a dozen people, mostly men, all pointing various models of pea spitters, guns, a name in their minds corrected for him. Him located the speaker, and reached into his mind, before telepathically answering. "I will leave shortly, but first I must identify the anomaly among you."
The man's mind must not been strong enough, as he started spasming and twitching, before falling into a mess on the ground. Yet Him did not see this as he turned back around and grabbed hold of the handles of the hatch.
The hatch quickly started to turn red as the metal heated up.
Him couldn't find the cause for the change but cared little about it, and yet still the hatch heated up before exploding in his face. While the fire itself did nothing to him, other than he absorbed some of it, the flying shards of heated metal gave him some bruises when they hit Him.
Still, Him stepped through the still burning melted doorway. On the other side of the hatch was a miniature-sized life form. It was less than half of his size, it had red skin and long coarse bck hair growing here and there on its arms, chest, and legs. The creature had jagged horns growing from its head, and needle-like bck cws in pce of its nails.
"Why aren't you burning?" The little man telepathically asked him.
"My body was tempered to be able to withstand the heat of re-entry of a pnet, your heat is nothing." Him replied the same way.
"There's another one?" Someone vocally asked after a moment of the two of them staring at each other.
The small creature then leaped higher into the air than Him expected it able to, still something about this strange creature bothered him, so he let out another type of energy stored within him. A beam of rainbow-like light fired from Him's outstretched fist. The beam seemed to blind the humans watching the two of them.
The beam did not hit dead on, instead striking somewhere near the lower half of the creature. Still, it seemed effective, as from the creature's two-pack abs nothing remained of it. The creature did not cry out in pain, instead, it just continued to try and attack him. Its tiny cws tore his flesh much easier than White Tiger's did.
"The power cosmic, how?" The thing screeched both vocally and telepathically. Him also heard the humans behind him cry out at the brilliant light that his beam generated.
However, unlike White Tiger, Him felt no desire to hold back against this thing. So he punched the thing in the head as hard as he could. The creature flew into the metal wall behind it spraying its yellow and green body fluids everywhere.
"I had wanted to ask how it was shielding its mind from me. But now I understand it was you're doing." Him said towards the humanoid in a glowing pink suit.
"What are you? You're not one of his heralds; I would be able to feel his link to you if you were. But few others would have access to the power you just dispyed." The stranger telepathically debated towards him. Him could see some sort of glowing cocoon attached to the wall behind the man, revealing the st one the man was protecting. "And yet even more disturbing, I can smell no soul off of you. Revolting."
"What are you, a being able to shield himself from me? Answer, or I will kill you as I did him." Him said pointing at the remains between the two of them.
"He's not dead. You simply sent him home." The stranger waved his hands like what Him had dispyed was nothing. But then his four eyes all changed from a soft yellow to a hot red hue, before he added. "But you did reveal us to them, and for that, I should repay you."
The stranger then released an unnatural scream at Him and the humans behind him.
While the humans screamed in pain and suffering, Him endured the odd tingling sensations that the scream was giving him. As he was basking in it, the stranger changed. His torso, legs, and arms all stretch and lengthen. As the man's height rose so he was too tall, as were his hands and feet grew cws. Skeletal small membrane-less wings popped out of the stranger's back.
Him had seen how effected the energy beam work on the smaller creature, so he aimed his left fist and fired another while the stranger continued his transformation. The beam unfortunately tore through the illusion that the stranger had made, it also continued and blew through the metal ceiling, as well as more ceilings and walls beyond. As the wind of the room started to rapidly flow past him and out into the blue sky beyond.
"Opps, I guess that was a miss." The pink monster muttered from the floor, where it had dropped to be on all fours, its real form only slightly bigger once transfromed. Then the creature pounced, its long talon-armed limbs shing out at Him. Him left his chest open, however, he did so that he could grab said limbs.
First Him tilted his head and did whatever it was he did to the doors, and a moment ter the wind stopped as the ceiling and walls were pulled back to the way it was before he fired the second beam. Then he tilted it the other way, as the creature asked. "Wait, how did you do that?"
"I do not know, but I would be more worried that your limbs are not as durable as a Newmen's are." Him said before stretching the creature as far as his reach would let him. The creature's arms broke at the elbows, as it cried out in pain.
The monster used its wings to limp away, while it cried out some more, but Him didn't wait beyond to point out. "You seem to be afraid of fire… good thing I can make my own." Him then reached out with another type of energy in him and massively increased the temperature around him, the air became thick like a heavy fog as the creature's body started to burn. Then he added. "But I think I will add a little extra in as well." The fmes shifted to look closer to white than to red.
Yet the monster didn't give up, it instead shed out with shes of psychic constructs and illusions. The shes did not cut Him, but it did make him flinch. So to speed up the creature's defeat he dove in swinging punch after punch into the monster. After the fourth, the creature's skull caved into the force that Him threw at it. To make sure he it was defeated, Him pushed the core into the deepest parts of the fmes, after a moment of no further resistance Him released it.
Then Him stood back, and watched the remains burn motionless for a moment, before remembering the fragile nature of the structure around him, so he recalled the heat and energy back into his body. However, something must have changed, because he felt full before taking all of it in. Furthermore, he felt feverish, his vision blurred, and he was about to fall over, but then suddenly a woman rushed in and supported him.
She was human with her blonde hair in a bun at the back of her head. She wore the same one-piece suits that all of the personnel of the flying building did. She looked at him, then gnced at the now clearly dead monster, and then back to him before asking. "You ok big guy?"
Him shook his head as his vision worsened. "My thoughts… I think... mind is split and fractured… I had not thought it possible to take damage from… from psychic attacks, I think I am dying." Him scanned and swept the chamber, he pointed towards an empty alcove opposite of the cocoon before he asked. "Help me there, please?"
The human woman nodded and started to help him walk, but then someone else behind them snapped at her. "What do you think you're doing Agent Morse?"
"Helping the guy who just saved our asses from god knows what!" She snapped back, and then the two of them limped the short distance they needed.
Once there, he motioned for her to back away. She did, and once clear of him, he stood up as straight as he could and willed his casket to him. "What the…" The female muttered as his silver casket appeared around him before closing around him. Him couldn't see it as he had passed out from the pain in his head, but a second ter the metal started to glow gold like the color of his skin.
Over the South Atntic Ocean –-Aboard Helicarrier Beta 3- October 29, 2008 (22:32 Zulu)
Danielle 'Dani' Moonstar- (Mirage)
"Captain, I am warning you right now, disturbing them may make matters worse. The psychic energy they are both putting out is whole levels higher than I or most telepaths can produce. Opening either may be as bad as triggering an atomic weapon." Dani told her senior officer.
Captain Olmos gave her the stink eye as his hand was inches from picking up the announcement horn and ordering the security team down there to open fire. His scared weathered face seemed about ready to snap at her, but he didn't get the chance as a communication officer piped up.
"Director Fury waiting on line one." The young man reported.
That pulled the Captain away from the security station and back to the command lecture. The mutant moved to be at his shoulder so both could talk should she be called on, but let her superior take the lead.
Olmos pressed the button to open the line, and sure enough Nick Fury's face was on the other end. He seemed to have just been woken up as he was only wearing a white v-neck and grey sweatpants. His was also cking his iconic eye patch, the damaged flesh seemed to be leaking some type of puss as he spoke.
"What the hell happened, Captain?" The Western Director of SHIELD asked.
"An unknown, person, boarded the helicarrier, sir. He seemed to be aware of two intruders who were aboard without our knowledge. This 'man' approached and did battle with. He then summoned some kind of recovery device, that he has locked himself in. All attempts to approach it have failed." The helicarrier captain reported.
"Failed how?" Fury asked.
Olmos turned and took a step to the side, to let Dani take center stage before she reported. "Every time an agent nears the device a small circle of heat and cold spontaneously appears around it, this causes a micro-explosion. Not enough to hurt anyone, but more than enough to push them back away from the area. Continued attempts see an increase in the amount of energy produced."
"He's threatening us." The captain said in his opinion.
"And he could have just as easily gone on his way and left those two intruders aboard our ship, undiscovered." The mutant pointed out in the stranger's defense.
"Any word on them, or what they left behind?" The director asked to change topics.
"The rger of the two is all charred meat, but the squints are still trying to find something that might have survived. As for the smaller one, there is plenty of meat and tissue left, but none of it makes any conventional sense to our science team." Olmos reports to the terminal, and then he adds. "As for thing, she won't us get near it." Jabbing his thumb at Dani.
"It's a cocoon. I can feel massive amounts of psychic energy from both it and the stranger. And Director, I recognized the smaller of the two intruders. It was listed on the dossier that we got from the Citadel at the st Entreatment Day. Director Fury, it was listed as a lesser demon." Dani stated what she knew. As Fury rubbed his forehead over and over again, she took the chance to point out. "Sir, this is textbook emergency consotion cause."
"What's Stark going to tell us, other than we shouldn't have burned the thing to death?" Their bosses snapped back.
"Not Stark sir, but as much as I hate the cold, Nath'aniel already knows what one of these things is, he may also know what the other two are too." The mutant agent suggested.
Fury leaned back from the camera he was using, and took a deep breath before he leaned back into view and ordered. "Captain Olmos, prep and fuel a quinjet, I want a team at the supply exchange a.s.a.p. And no more approaching the creature that both blew a hole in the helicarrier and fixed it without anyone knowing how. Observe and report." The captain saluted the director, as he added. "Agent Moonstar, this is a level 7 and above only mission, pick a team. And get moving. I want something soon."
