Throughout the whole night Angelo could not fall asleep. He could not help but think about the job Mr. Ovid gave him. It was the very st job that Angelo had to do for him. After that he could go back to his family. And he wanted that more than anything. But this time it seemed that Mr. Ovid decided that he wanted to have a bit of cruel fun with Angelo. Like he wanted to torture him a bit. And Angelo did not want this job, but he had no choice.
What angered and worried Angelo the most was that no matter what he would do, someone he loved would die. That was the worst part of his situation. He wanted literally any other job, but Mr. Ovid loved to py tricks on Angelo. He hated that old genie, but if he wanted to see his family again he had to py by his rules.
Angelo spent the whole night trying to find some kind of gambit that would let him out of his situation. Some kind of third option that would let everybody to survive. Just a glimpse of hope for a victory against the genie. A way out of the deal. Especially since it would be a shame to give up on the final straight.
And then Angelo had an idea. Such a simple idea that Angelo was surprise he didn't think of it sooner. And it did give him a nice way out where everybody would get a happy ending. The only problem was that it was very risky. And if the pn would fail there was no saying what Mr. Ovid would do. Because he would punish Angelo, that was for sure. But even with that the pn and its outcome were worth the risk.
Angelo took his phone and messaged his friends. If the pn was to succeed they needed to know about it. After all they were the key parts of both the pn and the mission. And then happy Angelo went to sleep. He needed to be rested for the talk that was coming the next day.
Lily greeted the day with some post that came to her from the Fairy Realm. Reading about the recmation forces destroying the surviving small cells of the fairy mafia and reciming West Moonwing Isnd city by city was always filling her with hope for a better tomorrow. She dreamed that one day she would get back home after it gets liberated.
That morning Lily read something that gave her the most hope out of any messages she has read since she returned to the Human Realm. A message so hopeful, that Lily could not help but wake her sister up.
"Ursu! Ursu! Wake up!" Lily started to shout. "Listen what great news just came!"
Ursu was not too happy about being waked up so early in the morning. Especially not after such a long night of pying her favourite video game, Dread and Starvation. If it was her decision, she would have slept much longer. Especially on a Saturday morning.
"Well, I hope that the news are indeed great," said Ursu.
"Oh, but they are! Listen to this. The recmation forces recently recimed Anpesin Popom and captured Khoti Ni?fanat! Isn't that great?"
"Sorry, sister, but as of now I am too sleepy to comprehend a message in Moonwingian."
Lily chuckled. "They've got the capital and captured the remaining boss."
As soon as Ursu heard the simplified version of the message she became much more conscious. She was happy for her sister. This was indeed a great news.
"Holy crap, that is amazing," said Ursu.
"Isn't it? That means I can finally return home."
Just then Ursu noticed what Lily meant by great news. She became doubtful. Sure, Ursu wanted the best for her sister, but there was something she was not so sure about.
"Are you sure that going back to Anpesin Popom so soon after they recimed it is good?" asked Ursu.
"What do you mean?"
"We are talking about the goddamn capital. The greatest mess was going on there. And, sister, remember that you were the personal transtor of the greatest mafia boss in fairy history. Are you really sure it is safe for you to go back?"
"Oh, don't worry," Lily tried to calm Ursu down. "The recmation forces are doing a wonderful job. And ever since Hi?a Omiāk got captured the remaining mafia cells are like so disorganised. If you visit me it will be as if they didn't exist."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, if you say it is safe then I am happy. But do not go back to me the next day crying that you were wrong."
"Don't worry about that. It really is okay."
"I hope so."
Just before Ursu got out of bed she took her phone and looked at her notifications. She found a notification from Discuss about a message from Angelo. It was sent not only to her, but also to Giovanna and Sarah.
Angel Lost: Let's meet at MacBeth's this afternoon. I have something to discuss with you all.
"Look what Angelo just sent." Ursu showed the message to Lily. "It looks interesting, does it not?"
"Yeah. You pn to go?"
"Oh, you know me, sister. Of course I do pn to go."
"I could have guessed so."
Angelo and the girls met in MacBeth's. They were eating their dishes in a strange atmosphere. Angelo seemed to be fighting with something. As if he didn't want to move some topic.
"Well, I have to admit, you had an interesting idea for a meeting," said Ursu.
"So what did you want to talk about?" asked Giovanna.
"Yeah, you seemed to have something urgent," said Lily.
"Is it something about a new mission?" asked Sarah. "You know, I've been training magic on my own."
"Right, I should probably just spill the tea," said Angelo. "And yes, you've guessed, Sarah. It is about a new mission. You see, Mr. Ovid told me to kill you."
