Automata: Steampunk Golem

  Description:

The Steampunk Golem is an infrequent evolution path for the common Golem species. Two special evolution requirement key items are needed to unlock this path, namely the "Gear of Life", a machinery gear that is required for "biological lifeforms" to evolve into an Automata species, and the "Grand Steam Engine", an item required for non-Steam Automata species to evolve into their "Steampunk" variants.

Other than that, Steampunk Golems' rarity is only beaten by their popularity. Their steam has not only healing properties for humans, animals, and machines alike, but it is also an incredibly potent source of energy for "Steam Aether Engines", a recent invention that takes the Steam-type aether from the steam and other types of vapor and converts it into further energy. Regular steam gives a lackluster result, meaning the Steampunk Golem is the best user of this new engine. They even beat the other Steampunk-type Automatas on this aspect!

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Since the items needed to evolve into a Steampunk Golem are so valuable and rare, only the most efficient Golems ever seem to be able to reach this evolution line. They are often successful merchants, great maniacs within certain subjects, or sometimes both. One thing is for sure: a Steampunk Golem is going to be anything but inactive.

  Appearance:

The appearance of a Steampunk Golem is a large, humanoid automaton with a body made from bronze and black metals, with wires commonly seen connected to its joints. As expected from a Golem-type species, their height is often above 2 meters, and they have quite the "big boned" shape.

The "charm points", so to speak, are the large pipe pointing out from the top of the Steampunk Golem's head, along with the smaller ones sticking out from the side(s) of their mouth. The former gives the impression of the Steampunk Golem wearing a large tophat with smoke (actually steam) coming out of it, while the other pipes make one think it is chomping on some cigars. Relax. The "smoke" from these "cigars" retains their healing properties, though some bad breath might be included.

Also, each Steampunk Golem has a varied number of these "cigars", ranging from a single one to the world record of a whooping six! These cigars can also be retracted, preventing the Steampunk Golem from leading a daily life. The "hat" mentioned before, on the other hand, isn't that easy to deal with.

  Abilities:

  Danger rank: D

  Rarity rank: B-

In battle, the Steampunk Golem can be quite sturdy. Their metallic bodies give them a high natural defense, same does their nature as golems. Add their regenerative steam to the equation, and you find yourself with a prime candidate for Path of Armor-type roles.

Other than their impressive stamina, Steampunk Golems do not have much when it comes to attack options. Their bodies are strong, and they can release scolding steam, but as with other Automatas, they have an almost impossible compatibility with magic, preventing them from using any Magician-line classes efficiently.

In conclusion, the best Steampunk Golem is one centered around defense. Don't even bother to try to breach that unless you have some anti-machine abilities on hand. Or, since it's more than likely that this Golem will be a merchant of some kind, try to strike a deal with them. It should work most of the time.

Bloom's comment: AHA! This Golem must be one of those evil mastermind merchants! How else could you explain his sick plan of spreading volcanic magma poison across the desert?

Garami's comment: I seriously doubt any of that. What is wrong with some strong spices...?
