TBE Chapter 38

  Robert and Luke were still browsing the album with their pictures when Robert suddenly said that he wished their parents had pictures as well.

  “I wish we had a picture of them as well,” Ezekiel said to Robert.

  They were all looking at the pictures that Ezekiel had taken and good thing that he made sure that he was included in some of them by taking some selfies together with his brothers and was gd that even though the Mage Hand spell was a bit weak, it was useful in taking selfies for them.

  After browsing the pictures for a long time, the two boys went to the dining room to py with the toys again.

  Since this day was a celebration of Luke’s birthday, Ezekiel decided that he would join them in pying with their toys. He taught Luke how to shoot the bow and arrow although most of the time, half of his arrow shots towards the wall also went nowhere. He pyed with the horse and carriage and animal figures with Luke and set up different figures using the Lego sets with Robert.

  Ezekiel was just gd that his teacher Mr. Duvon understood that he couldn’t attend their lessons every day.

  When lunch came, they ate some of the birthday food remaining, and the boys still liked them a lot. After lunch, they spent some time in the washroom to take a bath and he also cleaned the clothes they were all wearing. Then he showed Robert and Luke the five sets of clothes together with the five sets of shoes and hats in the wardrobe and though the boys didn’t seem much excited with the new clothes, they still said they liked them.

  The boys then went back to pying with their toys in the dining room and Ezekiel spent time making sure that Prince Charming was fed and watered. He also cleaned the stable which made him thankful again for the Prestidigitation spell since because of it, cleaning the donkey’s excrement was as easy as waving his hands.

  While he was looking at Prince Charming thinking if he needed to buy a brush to brush the donkey’s coat and having doubts about it since because of his spell the donkey’s coat was clean Luke entered the house that was turned into Prince Charming’s stable crying.

  “What happened?” Ezekiel asked.

  “My bow broke,” Luke said while showing his bow with a snapped string.

  “You don’t have to cry. Let me fix that for you.”

  Ezekiel then cast the cantrip Mending and the bow was fixed immediately. He then followed Luke into the dining room.

  “Robert, Luke can you go to the bedroom and py there? You can use the small table there, even the bed. I need the table here to work on my woodcraft.”

  Both boys immediately gathered their things and went to the bedroom. It didn’t matter to Ezekiel if Robert and Luke dirtied the bedroom since he could clean them up using his spell.

  Once both boys were gone, Ezekiel retrieved all his woodworking tools and the wood that he was working on and put them on the dining room table. He then wondered if he should cast another Galder’s Tower for his woodworking activities that could also function as a shop. He decided he would do so using the location of their original shack but decided to do it at a ter time once he had already created more items.

  The glue that he used to create his first box had already been set a long time so he removed the cmps and checked the box. It was his first wooden box and even though it was rough, he liked it and thought that it had potential.

  He pnned to do another box but this time he was going to be very meticulous in making it. He would make sure that he would create parts with exact dimensions using the wood pner hand tool that he purchased and he would make sure that everything was smooth using the sandpapers that he bought as well. It would be easier for him since he pnned to do all of it using his Mage Hand spell.

  Ezekiel thought about the 4th level spell Fabricate. It stated in the description that normally he wouldn’t be able to create items that require a high degree of craftsmanship unless he had the proficiency with the artisan’s tools used to craft such objects. That meant that if he became a master wood crafter, he should be able to create wooden art objects using the spell. Right now he was very far from being a master so he would practice a lot. He wanted to have a profession of his own and thinking about creating his own art object with his own hands excited him.

  He still had a lot of wood from the firewood stack that he stored in his inventory so he chose the rger ones that he could create as a wooden box. Ezekiel then roughly cut them using his hand saw but he was still using his Mage Hand spell so it was amusing to see the hand saw floating and cutting the wood. It really looked magical and that was also one of the reasons why Ezekiel was highly entertained.

  Once he had all the parts of the box which were the sides, the bottom, and the cover, he began using the wood pner on them to make sure that they reached the correct thickness and to remove the roughness of the wood.

  While he was doing so, he wondered where about his decision to conjure the Galder’s Tower store that he pnned to use as his workshop and store. He decided that he shouldn’t choose the location of their old shack since it was almost inside the forest and a bit hard to notice.

  A shop should be easy to find so he decided to build it beside the road a few minutes’ walk from their Galder’s Tower houses.

  In no time at all, he managed to pne all the parts of the wooden box using the wood pner. Checking the dimensions using his measuring tape tool of the parts that he created, he was excited to see that everything looked exactly as intended.

  Ezekiel then stopped for a bit to check up on his brothers. He wasn’t really worried since Yuki Onna was looking after them from the top of the trees. The boys were still busy pying and he was amazed that they could do so using the same toys for hours and thought that maybe because the toys were new and the novelty of them kept them amused.

  He returned to the dining room and began creating the groove that would allow him to insert the bottom part of the box as well as the groove that would allow one to slide the cover to the left if one wanted to open the box.

  After that, he began putting the glue on all the parts needed and connected them softly using the cmps. Ezekiel made sure that the cmp connections were not forced so that they would not misaligned.

  Once the glue sets which would take around 20 minutes according to the guide, Ezekiel would then put a varnish coating on the box. Just to be safe, he pnned to leave the box cmped for about an hour.

  He checked the boys and they were outside pying in the forest. They were pying with the badminton set and was surprised that Luke was able to contend with Robert for a bit.

  Ezekiel then went to their old shack since he pnned to dismantle it. When he arrived there, he immediately went to work. At least it was easier for him since he only had to store the loose materials in his 4th space tab and then start dismantling again. The shack was so small that after an hour the whole shack was gone. The shack was so flimsy that Ezekiel was sure that a mild storm would ftten the house in no time.

  Soon, he knew that any traces of the shack would be gone since the forest would work its magic in the pce. Ezekiel pnned to put all the wood beside the Galder’s Tower house he pnned to conjure near the road that would function as his workshop cum store but he would do that another day.

  He returned to the dining room and checked the box. He saw that the glue had set so he started coating the box with varnish. The video said that if he were using a paintbrush, he should make sure to stroke the brush with varnish on the wood lightly or else clumps would form.

  After it was done, Ezekiel was looking at the box. Even though it was serviceable, it was far from selble in his opinion. One could see that it was made by an amateur but he was learning and knew that it would be a while before he could create a box that was worthy enough to be sold.

  When he checked the time, it was only around four in the afternoon. He thought of making another box but then Ezekiel thought that it would be better if he watched more video guides and read some online books regarding woodworking.

  It would have been better if he had some sort of master who would teach him but even if there was one in the vilge, he would avoid learning from them since it would be questionable if he produced exceptional wood arts and crafts knowing that his actual level in wood crafting was just a novice.
