TBE Chapter 37

  Ezekiel changed the Arcane Lock in the dining room so that only he would be able to enter in case his brothers woke up before him. He wanted the decorations to be a surprise to both Robert and Luke.

  A good thing was when the next day arrived, he was still the first one who woke up so he moved slowly to make sure not to wake up his brothers then went to the dining room to complete the preparation.

  But before he did that, Ezekiel refreshed the Galder’s tower spell and made sure to cast Mage Armor on all three of them.

  He retrieved the huge birthday cake with candles numbering five on top of the cake and some of the typical birthday food like chicken poppers with gravy, baked mac, fruit sad, and beef with mushroom.

  All of the decorations, birthday gifts, food, and drinks cost him a whopping 40 silver coins so his remaining stack of coins were 9 Gold 27 Silver, and 80 plus Copper Coins.

  Ezekiel also remembered to purchase an instant camera that print out pictures immediately. It cost him 5 silver coins.

  Soon he heard Robert and Luke knocking on the dining room house door.

  “Brother! We can’t open the door!” Robert shouted and they kept on knocking repeatedly.

  Ezekiel shouted to wait for him and when he reached the door, he changed the spell required for the Arcane Lock and windows of the dining room to allow his brothers to open them. When Robert and Luke entered the dining room house, he shouted “Tada!”.

  “Happy birthday, Luke!” Ezekiel shouted.

  “What is that?” Robert asked.

  “This is the day when Luke was born! He is now five years old!” Ezekiel shouted.

  “What about me?” Robert asked looking envious.

  “You don’t need to worry Robert. I’ll celebrate your birthday too. Your eighth birthday will be in three months and we’ll celebrate then. Mine will be in five months,” Ezekiel tried to appease his brother and after a while of pouting, he bravely put on a happy face and both Ezekiel and Robert hugged Luke while telling him a happy birthday.

  “My birthday!” Luke shouted.

  Ezekiel then lit up the candles on the cake and started singing the ever-popur birthday song on Earth “Happy Birthday To You” and since he was the only one who knew it, Ezekiel was the only one singing the song. After he was done singing, he told Luke to make a wish and then asked the kid to blow out the candles so that his wish would come true. Of course, Ezekiel didn’t forget to take pictures of his brothers during the celebration.

  The kid’s wish was simple, which was just a new toy. That made Ezekiel gd since he did prepare gifts for the kids and all of them were toys.

  He then prepared a pte for each of the boys with a small serving of cake, chicken poppers, baked mac, beef with mushroom and fruit sad, and the ever-constant vitamin pill. They started eating the birthday food that Ezekiel prepared and the three of them looked and felt satisfied with the delicious breakfast they had just eaten.

  “Yummy. Thank you, big brother,” Luke said.

  “You’re welcome,” Ezekiel was happy to hear that Luke was beginning to speak whole sentences and he was sure that once he mingled with the others in school, he would learn how to speak normally.

  “Now the exciting part! Gifts!” Ezekiel then retrieved the gifts wrapped in exciting wrapping papers then put them all in front of Luke.

  Both boys' eyes went wide again when they saw the different gift sizes. Robert looked jealous for a bit but then Ezekiel hugged both boys.

  “When your birthday comes, I’ll give you lots of gifts too,” Ezekiel whispered to Robert.

  He would have given a toy to Robert as well but he had seen a short video once about a child birthday celebrant who looked so sad when her parents treated her and her siblings equally during her birthday making her special day not so special.

  At least, Robert seemed to understand because he put on a joyous face for Luke. Luke looked a little confused at the gift-wrapped gifts.

  “What do I do?” Luke asked.

  Ezekiel briefly wondered if this world didn’t have any form of gift-giving in the form of gift-wrapped boxes or if it was because this was the first time his brother received a gift.

  “Just tear open the paper. The gifts are inside,” Ezekiel said to his younger brother.

  Luke opened all the gifts and when he saw all the toys, his expression was a sight to behold so Ezekiel didn’t forget to take pictures. Both boys were confused every time he snapped a picture of them using the instant camera but he told them that don’t mind the action. He pnned to put all the pictures in beautiful picture frames and hang them in their bedroom house.

  Luke was a bit confused by the set of Legos and he taught his brother how to use it. The base model of the Lego was a house so he showed him how to form different shapes aside from a house.

  When Ezekiel saw Robert looking at the toys enviously, he told his brother that he could always borrow the toys from Luke and he was sure that their younger brother would be happy to lend them to him.

  They both admired the model of the horse and carriage as well as the model animals and Luke attempted to use the pstic bow and arrow with a plunger at the end. They all ughed when Luke failed but Ezekiel comforted the boy by telling him that he should be able to shoot successfully after some practice. He also showed him what the plunger at the end of the arrow would do and when Ezekiel stuck it on his forehead, Robert and Luke ughed.

  During that morning, the dining room was filled with joyous ughter from the three of them and even the Snowy Owl familiar Yuki Onna joined in on the fun.

  The three of them spent hours that morning celebrating Luke’s birthday. Robert and Luke started pying with Luke’s toys. Robert pyed with the Legos while Luke attempted to fire the plunger arrows from his toy bow and when the kid got tired, he pyed with the horses and carriage model and animal toy figures.

  Ezekiel snapped picture after picture until he had a pile of pictures but he wouldn’t let the boys see them since he pnned to put the best ones on picture frames and compile the rest using a picture album.

  When they got hungry, Ezekiel would ask his brother what they wanted to eat amongst the birthday food which expectedly, they would always choose the cake so they ate cake and drank fruit juice then they would return to pying again.

  Robert and Luke then turned their attention to the floating balloons and he had to expin to them why the balloons were floating since they thought that the reason was because of magic. Luke brought one of them outside and intentionally released one when Ezekiel wasn’t looking then the kid ran back inside with a panicked look on his face and informed Ezekiel about the balloon that floated away.

  When Ezekiel heard that one of the balloons floated away, he just ughed and told the kid not to mind it. He brought one outside as well and released it and the three of them looked at the balloon floating away while he told Luke that the balloon should be able to find the first balloon that flew and that they would now go on adventures together.

  Ezekiel decided that they wouldn’t leave the house that day and would spend it together. He told Robert and Luke that once they were done pying with their toys, to put them on the table inside the bedroom house and they nodded absently while pying with their toys.

  While they were busy pying, he was beside them searching for clothes simir to the ones he purchased from the vilge market that the boys could wear in school on the system shopping site. He easily found them so he purchased four sets each for Robert and Luke and the clothes were different from each other in terms of color and design. Now the boys would be able to wear different clothes every day when they go to school. The clothes cost him 160 copper coins.

  Ezekiel went to the bedroom house and put the clothes he purchased in the wardrobe and was happy to see the five sets of clothes hanging there together with the five sets of hats and shoes for each of the boys. The best thing was that he didn’t have to wash them since he could clean them using his Prestidigitation spell. He returned to the dining room to accompany his brothers and while they continued pying he searched for picture frames and picture albums.

  He found one that would fit the pictures from the instant camera and it was a set of ten picture frames with an elegant design that could be hung on a wall. He also found a cute album where he could put the rest of the pictures so he purchased them. The frames cost him 2 silver coins and the album cost him 20 copper coins. Ezekiel’s remaining coins were 9 gold and 19 silver coins with a few copper coins left.

  Since Robert and Luke were still busy pying, he went to the bedroom house again, put the pictures on the frames, and hung them on one of the bedroom walls. Then he spent several minutes putting the rest of the pictures in the album. When he was done, he called his brothers to show them the frames and the album and both boys were surprised and in awe when they beheld themselves in the picture frames. They were also excited to browse the album.
