TBE Chapter 46
The journey so far was uneventful and Ezekiel and his brothers did not meet anyone on the road. It almost felt like they were the only ones left in the world that sometimes he felt that this was not a fantasy world but a post-apocalyptic one. He wasn’t even sure that this was truly a fantasy world since Ezekiel hadn’t seen any signs of magic or magical creatures aside from his.
According to his brothers and his brief encounters with the villagers from the Eagle Village, there were myths and legends about magic users like witches and wizards, and there were also myths and legends about dragons and other magical creatures but just like on Earth, myths and legends were not proofs of their existences.
Ezekiel could argue that this world could be considered a fantasy world because of his existence, but what if he were the only one who could wield magic? He doubted it since another argument was because of his existence, a man capable of wielding magic, it meant that there was truly magic in this world and maybe the reason why he hadn’t seen any signs of it was because he transmigrated to a specific place that didn’t have or rarely have the presence of magic.
Mr. Duvon did say that far to the west, or was it east? The existence of magic was rampant. Ezekiel was actually hoping that before he met any magic user be it human or other creatures, his level would be higher so he would have the power to defend himself if those magic users turned out to be a contentious lot.
Lunch arrived and they briefly stopped by the roadside to eat what Ezekiel already prepared that he retrieved from his 4th space tab. After that, he inspected the food left in his inventory and was satisfied to see that there were plenty of them left but he would prefer to have more so he planned to prepare more after about a week.
He also thought that it would be best if he stored some food and water in their cart as a front for any travelers they encountered who were curious enough to inspect their belongings.
He spent 4 copper coins to purchase a loaf of bread, 1 liter of mineral water, and a water bottle that looked like leather water skin but it was still made of plastic, it just looked like leather water skin. Ezekiel transferred the water from the plastic bottle to the faux leather waterskin then put it together with the loaf of bread inside the box in the cart. More than likely, the bread and the water would remain unconsumed until they went bad which basically meant that he wasted the copper coins but it was a necessary expense.
They continued their journey only stopping briefly to relieve themselves for a few minutes. They still haven’t met anyone on the road but Ezekiel was happy because of that because it meant that it would be harder for anyone to trace where they went if someone wanted to.
At around five in the afternoon, Ezekiel decided to look for a campsite since he didn’t want to repeat his mistake the night before wherein the dark arrived before they set up camp. They found a cozy little campground just beside the road.
Ezekiel set up the tent but he just set up the tent in the middle of the camp and the tent unfolded itself. Then he set up a pole from one of the wood in the cart then hung the gas lantern there. He also used it to tie Prince Charming’s leash onto the pole. Then he enclosed the tent in Leomund’s Tiny Hut spell, which was big enough to cover their tent, the pole where the lantern was hanging, Prince Charming, and the cart.
He then purchased three sleeping bags for 1 silver coin and placed them inside the tent.
“Are we sleeping inside that tonight?” Robert asked and both boys were looking at the tent curiously.
“Yes. It’s a practice run for those times that can’t sleep inside the magical house,” Ezekiel answered.

Both boys entered the tent and started playing with their toys. Luke asked him to “wake up” the wooden blocks so he cast the Tiny Servants spell on them.
Ezekiel fed and watered Prince Charming and when the donkey defecated, he cleaned them up immediately using his Prestidigitation spell. He brought the lantern inside the tent then they all ate dinner. Once they were all ready to sleep, they slid inside their sleeping bags and Ezekiel turned off the lantern.
He was woken by Luke in the middle of the night wanting to go to the toilet and Robert woke up as well and joined in on the fun. Good thing he bought a flashlight so he used that to light up their little tent and led the two boys by the side of the tent and there they did their business. It would have stunk to high heaven but thanks to Prestidigitation, it was all cleaned up in no time, including the boys and their clothes, and after that they all went to sleep.
Ezekiel knew that he would probably rarely do that again, camp using their tent since it was highly inconvenient. He knew that there were instances that they wouldn’t have a choice but he would worry about that when that time comes. When morning arrived, at least Robert and Luke were cheerful about their first experience using the camping tent and the sleeping bags but Ezekiel would still prefer to use Galder’s Tower. They didn’t actually need to use the tent. Just the sleeping bags would be fine since the spell Leomund’s Tiny Hut would remain comfortable and dry regardless of the weather outside.
The main purpose of using a tent was some sort of camouflage so Ezekiel could hide his use of magic but he was beginning to think that he shouldn’t care about that anymore just because not using his magic could be uncomfortable.
While eating their breakfast, Luke didn’t forget to remind him about the multivitamins and he praised the kid about that since in Ezekiel’s mind, they truly needed the vitamins since they still looked a little undernourished.
After breakfast, the three siblings cleaned up their campsite. Ezekiel put the sleeping bags and the tent in the cart since he purchased them as a cover for other people to see. He then fed and watered Prince Charming and cleaned the donkey using his spell. He did the same thing to himself and his brothers and soon they were on the road again.
After a couple of hours, Ezekiel noticed a gigantic animal moving inside the forest. He stopped the cart and observed carefully what the animal was and made sure to ready himself to cast his spells. When the three brothers finally got a clear view of the animal, it was a giant moose. The moose only observed them briefly and slowly went away.
Ezekiel was tempted at first to kill it but he was averse to harming a non-aggressive animal. It was just walking by and it would be villainous if he harmed it just because he wanted to check if it would provide experience points. Based on the rules that were indicated on the first page of his system browser, non-aggressive animals wouldn’t provide him with experience points anyway.
When lunch arrived, they stopped briefly to eat. Ezekiel still found it weird that they hadn’t encountered anyone yet and was hoping that they didn’t lose their way going to the country of Delantan but according to the geography book that included a map the road to Delantan was straightforward enough. Just follow the road to the east.
Of course, there would be many villages and towns along the way but according to the book, there were no split roads that would confuse them.
Around five in the afternoon, Ezekiel drove the cart towards the trees. He then cast three Galder’s Towers that were slotted to the 2nd level slot so they would have only one floor. One of them was the bedroom, one was a washroom and the last one was the stable with a door big enough to fit the cart inside.
After leading Prince Charming inside the stable, Ezekiel fed and watered the donkey. After he exited the stable, he cast the Alarm spell, the Arcane Lock spell, and the Glyph of Warding spell paired with the Sleep spell in front of the houses.
Yuki Onna was still above the trees watching the surrounding area. Ezekiel then joined his brothers in the bedroom so they could eat dinner. Ezekiel had to admit that the Galder’s Tower was infinitely better for luxurious travel.
After dinner, the three of them took a bath and then went to the bedroom to rest. That night Robert and Luke didn’t ask him to “wake up” the wooden blocks but requested a fairy tale so he read to them one of the thousands of fairy tales from the internet. The two kids fell asleep after a few minutes.
Ezekiel then continued thinking about his plans while his brothers were sleeping. He wanted to get as far away from Eagle Village before they interacted with other people and he was a bit glad that they hadn’t encountered any travelers on the road so far. After that, he planned to earn coins selling the wood art that he already purchased from his system shopping site.
