TBE Chapter 27

  TBE Chapter 27

Ezekiel and his siblings went downstairs after they inspected the washroom thoroughly. He had to explain to his brother what a sauna was and told them that they would try it out next time since it was already so late.

He also showed them how the faucets on the washtub function, how the shower worked, and how the bidet in the toilet worked.

Robert kept saying that everything was so magical and that they were now very rich, richer than anybody in the village, which made Ezekiel laugh.

They went downstairs and Ezekiel taught the boys how to use the faucet in the sink.

“Where are we going to sleep?” Robert asked noticing that there were no beds.

  “I’ll conjure us a bed.”

Ezekiel then went to where the window was and moved the table and chairs a bit. He decided to place the bed as well as a wardrobe where they could store their clothes although they only had two sets of clothes each since he threw away all of their old clothes because they were so old and torn that Ezekiel thought if the three of them wear those clothes they would really look like beggars.

He spent 5 silver coins to purchase a queen-sized bed with a mattress, pillows, bed sheets and pillowcases then spent another 2 silver coins for the wardrobe which he placed beside the bed. Ezekiel reckoned that a queen-sized bed was enough for the three of them since all of them were small.

When the things that he purchased appeared, Robert and Luke cheered.

“Wow our bed looks so nice and soft,” Robert said.

Luke pointed at the bed and the pillows and shouted, “Clouds!” which made Ezekiel laugh. The two boys were about to jump on the bed when he stopped them.

“Wait! You two are dirty! Let‘s clean up first before we try our new bed,” Ezekiel said.

“I want to try the washtub!” Robert shouted and Ezekiel decided that the three of them would use the washtub that night.

“Let’s eat first, then we’ll take a bath and then try out our new bed!” Ezekiel said so the three of them polished off the remaining pizza and the soda on the table.

The three siblings then went upstairs and removed their clothes. Ezekiel cleaned their clothes using the Prestidigitation spell then prepared the water for the tub. Since the three of them were so small and the washtub was so big, once the water temperature was perfect, they all jumped inside the washtub.

Ezekiel spent 5 copper coins to purchase a bubble bath soap and 3 sponges and soon the three of them were soaking in soapy hot water. He bought each of them a sponge and taught his brothers how to use them and after that, they relaxed in the tub for several more minutes. After that, they used the shower head to rinse themselves of the remaining soap then Ezekiel taught his brothers to brush their teeth.

It would be more convenient now since there was already a sink in the house both in the washroom and the dining room downstairs.

After they were done, they wore the clothes that Ezekiel cleaned and mended using the spells Prestidigitation and Mending.

“Taking a bath is enjoyable but it would be bothersome to do it every day!” Robert said.

“You could just take a shower if you want to wash yourself. Just turn on the shower and after you're wet, you clean yourself using soap and a sponge then rinse yourself using the shower. Easy right?”

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

  “Rain!” Luke said.

“Oh and you both need to learn how to brush your teeth at least two times a day,” Ezekiel continued.

That statement made both boys pout.

“If you do that I’ll give you each a toy at the end of the week but if you miss a day, no toy.”

Both boys ignored him. Ezekiel was guessing that the toys were not a good enough incentive. Well, he would just remind him every day and if needed he could use his Prestidigitation spell to clean the boys’ teeth. If worse comes to worst, he could cure them of cavities or tooth decay using the Healing Elixir spell.

The three then went downstairs and jumped on the bed.

“The bed smells so good and it is so soft!” Robert said and Luke had a smile on his face.

“Okay, I’ll dim the lights and then I’ll tell you a story.”

Ezekiel then thought of dimming the lights inside the house and it dimmed automatically. He guessed that the description of the spell was right, he could control the lights inside the tower. He then continued the fairy tale story that he had been telling the kids but this time, both boys were still awake until he finished it.

  Suddenly, Robert said something serious.

“I wish mother and father were here. They would have loved our new house. Mother would cook us food in the nice kitchen while Father helped her. She would hum her favorite song and we’ll listen to her.”

  “Mama, dada,” Luke said softly.

Then Robert sobbed and soon Luke was sobbing as well. The kid kept saying that he missed their Father and Mother.

“I’m sorry that Father and Mother are gone. I’m here and I promise that I’ll never leave you and we will live a wonderful life.”

Ezekiel was baffled when the two boys cried harder. He never had any siblings before and he didn’t have any relationship with any young children so he didn’t know what to do but soon the two boys cried themselves to sleep.

When the boys were asleep, Ezekiel got up from the bed opened the door, and cast the Alarm Spell in front of their house. Then he cast a Glyph of Warding on the ground under the door and one under the window. The Glyph of Warding would activate a Sleep Spell that he cast at the same time as the Glyph and he chose touch and the alignment “Evil” as the trigger so anyone who approached with bad intention would be hit by the Sleep spell.

At least the Glyph of Warding spell would remain until it was triggered so Ezekiel didn’t need to cast it every night. He then cast Mage Armor on all three of them just in case and prepared all of the spells that he thought might be useful in case of them being attacked.

Ezekiel of course didn’t forget the most basic, which was to lock the door and the window. He then joined his brothers on the bed and they all slept peacefully.

The next day, all three siblings woke up at the same time and when Ezekiel opened the window, the sun was already up.

He prepared breakfast for them which was one of the dishes that he cooked before, glasses of milk that he spelled to taste like strawberry milk, and their vitamins since he knew Luke would ask for the “Magic Pills” if he didn’t give them one.

After breakfast, Robert and Luke wanted to run outside to play in the forest nearby but Ezekiel stopped them and cast Mage Armor on both of them to make sure that they wouldn’t get hurt then he told Robert to return after an hour or two since they would need to go to the market to sell some of the animals they had killed.

While his two brothers were outside Ezekiel made sure to check the map once in a while to make sure that the boys were staying nearby. He then switched to his system shopping site. He planned to purchase a large cart with wheels that he could use to tow the corpses of animals he hunted. He chose one that cost 50 copper coins and it was a collapsable one so it would save him some space in his 4th tab.

Once all the animals in his 4th tab were gone, Ezekiel would then focus on finding non-suspicious items that he could purchase from his system shopping page that he could sell for coins. Right now the only thing that he could think of were fruits and berries since he could give an excuse that he found them in the forest.

Ezekiel then thought of arts and crafts. Maybe he could purchase cheap wooden arts and crafts and he could sell those in the market and he could give an excuse that he made them.

He also thought of purchasing and selling fruit wine. He could give an excuse that he made it using the fruits from the forest and that the recipe was taught to him by their dead parents.

He could also purchase some honey and jam and could give the same excuse. Ezekiel thought of a funny idea which was to open a farmer’s market or its equivalent. Maybe more like a farmer’s stall. It would hold wooden arts and crafts, fruits and berries, honey and jam, fruit wine, and any item that he could think of that could be made from materials from the forest.

After an hour of planning, Ezekiel called his brothers.

“We’ll leave now to go to the market. I conjured us a cart with wheels and you can ride it instead of the magic disk to prevent the villagers from seeing my magic.”

Ezekiel retrieved the cart that he purchased and when the boys saw it, they both climbed the cart. When he tried to drag the cart using its handle, it moved easily enough since the wheels were smooth and large enough for the rough road.
