TBE Chapter 26

  TBE Chapter 26

Ezekiel and his two brothers Robert and Luke continue their travel towards their home. He was sure that he would reach level 3 before reaching their small shack on the outskirts of the Eagle Village since his experience points were already 95 percent.

After about an hour of walking, while his brothers floated behind him on top of the Tenser’s Floating Disk, they encountered two alligators in the river.

Ezekiel immediately provoked the two river animals by casting Prestidigitation on their faces that resembled showers of sparks and after that, the two ferocious animals became aggressive and swam towards him.

He immediately killed the two reptiles using two Magic Missiles that were slotted in the cantrip slots and then Ezekiel ignored their corpses without heads. He checked his experience bar and there it was, level 3.

Ezekiel was so happy that he danced in place and his brothers stared at him.

“What happened, brother? Why are you dancing?” Robert asked.

“My power increased! I can now conjure us a comfortable house! Come on you two dance with me!” Ezekiel shouted.

Robert and Luke cheered and jumped from the Tenser’s Floating Disk and joined their brother dancing. If anyone saw them, they would find three crazy kids dancing on a riverbank with two corpses of reptiles floating nearby. Soon the alligators’ corpses drifted away, dragged by the river current but the three boys just kept on dancing.

Ezekiel and his two brothers then went to a nearby large tree and camped there to rest for a few minutes. He spent a whopping 5 copper coins to buy an extra-large pizza topped with different meat and ingredients and a liter of cold water. He cast Prestidigitation on the bottle of water so it would taste like soda. When Robert and Luke saw the box that contained the mouth-watering pizza, their eyes grew wide.

  “What is that!” Robert asked.

“It’s called a pizza. It’s a large bread topped with different kinds of meat, some vegetables, and a lot of cheese baked until the cheese melts.”

“Yum! Yum!” Luke said while drooling.

Since Ezekiel reached level 3, he planned to stop hunting animals and would devote a large part of his time learning his letters, earning coins through the items that he could purchase from his system shopping site and selling them to the villagers, and being with his brothers. Once he learned his letters, he would then teach his brothers. Luke was already four years old but the kid was still only saying one to two words if he wanted to say anything. Ezekiel was worried about that so it was now time for all three of them to heal. He wouldn’t completely stop hunting but he planned to do it once a week for now.

“Now these small packets are called hot sauce. They’re delicious and used to top the pizza but they’re extremely hot and spicy so if you can’t handle something like that, don’t put it in your slice of pizza,” Ezekiel said then he showed the packets of hot sauce.

He then gave one slice of pizza to Robert and one slice to Luke when the pizza wasn’t too hot to handle anymore. He then sprinkled hot sauce on his slice then started eating. Robert and Luke watched him first to check how to eat the pizza then the two boys imitated him, biting on their slices.

Ezekiel almost choked when he saw his two brothers’ expressions which were the same. Their eyes were closed and it appeared that they had tasted a piece of heaven. He had to admit though that the pizza was the best tasting pizza he had ever eaten and remembered a funny tidbit about Isekai and systems. “Anything the system made is the best in the world”.

After they finished their first slice, the three brothers took another slice but this time, Robert bravely copied his older brother and sprinkled hot sauce on his slice despite several warnings from Ezekiel.

When Robert started eating his slice of pizza topped with hot sauce, Ezekiel and Luke stared at him since Robert’s face suddenly turned red and sweat appeared on his forehead. It looked like Robert ate poison.

Ezekiel knew that Robert must be suffering since it was the first time he tasted something hot but Robert just kept saying that it was delicious and kept eating the pizza slice. After eating a couple of slices of pizza, he stored the food in his space since they were all full and drank the cold water but Robert drank the majority of the 1 liter of the bottle of water.

Luke was laughing at his brother’s expression but Robert kept insisting that the pizza slice with hot sauce tasted better.

While they were resting, Ezekiel purchased 5 spells listed in the 3rd-level wizard spell list. The spells were Fly, Galder’s Tower, Glyph of Warding, Major Image, and Phantom Steed.

Ezekiel was tempted to purchase more but decided to hold off on spending more coins. He would purchase the spells that he wanted once he earned more coins.

After resting, he refreshed everyone's Mage Armor then cast Tenser’s Floating Disk. Then he cast the 3rd level spell Fly. Ezekiel didn’t fly too high, just around 5 feet but when Robert and Luke saw him flying, they cheered.

“Brother, you can fly!” Robert said excitedly and even Luke kept shouting “Birdy! Birdy!”

The three siblings traveled home with Ezekiel flying at around 5 feet off the ground while the Tenser’s Floating Disk followed behind. He had to cast the spell Fly every ten minutes which wasn’t too much of a bother since all his spells were instant cast. For the Tenser’s Floating Disk, he only needed to cast in once every hour. Because of that, they reached their small shack on the village outskirts ahead of the expected time.

When they arrived in their shack Ezekiel told his brothers that it was now time for them to say goodbye to their small, dilapidated house.

The three of them stood outside the shack for a while then Ezekiel entered to make sure that the fireplace didn’t contain any embers.

“Now let’s go and choose the best place where we can conjure our house!” Ezekiel said excitedly.

“I know! I know!” Luke suddenly shouted.

Ezekiel and Robert looked at Luke questioningly then followed the kid when Luke started running. Their youngest brother led to a copse of trees and they saw that the place was perfect. The trees would shade the tower from a casual look and it would make sure that it would be cool in summer and protected from the wind during winter.

“This place is perfect!” Ezekiel said and he praised Luke who laughed loudly.

Before casting the spell, Ezekiel made sure to imagine that the two-story tower would be made of sturdy stone and that there would only be one window. He also imagined that the window would be blocked by grills for defensive purposes although he knew that he would always cast Glyphs of Warding surrounding the tower to make sure that their home was secure.

He also chose a square tower instead of the typical round tower since round towers were usually associated with wizards and he didn’t want to attach any possible bad connotation to their home. He wanted the people who would see their house as just a regular house.

Ezekiel then chose to follow his plan. The 1st floor would be a dining space with a table and chairs, a magical fireplace, a magical oven, a cooking utensil, and a sink that would spew out water that he could use for cooking. At least he didn’t have to think about fuel for the fireplace and water from the sink since they were all made of magical energy. He wondered how it worked but decided not to think too deeply about it since he knew it was going to be a very deep rabbit hole once he started. He would just assume that the fuel and water were made with the “Weave”.

For the 2nd floor, he chose for it to be a washroom with a toilet, washtubs, a magical brazier, and sauna benches. The 2nd floor was accessible through a simple ladder and hatch.

When Ezekiel was done choosing, he cast the spell Galder’s Tower and a two-story house made of stone appeared. The door and window were very sturdy.

The three siblings cheered when they saw their new house appeared then they all ran inside. The 1st floor had enough space for the three of them. It was warm and dry and because of the magical fireplace, the whole room was exuding cheerful warmth.

Robert and Luke sat on the chairs that were on the dining table and on a whim, Ezekiel retrieved the box of pizza and the remaining soda from his 4th tab space and put it on the table. The two boys ran around inspecting every inch of the room. The excitement on their faces was so great that Ezekiel couldn’t help but smile when he looked at his brother’s faces.

“There’s a ladder!” Robert said when he noticed the ladder to the second floor.

“It’s the ladder to our washroom. Don’t climb up there yet. Let’s go check it out at the same time.” Ezekiel said.

So they all climbed the ladder and saw the washroom. There was a toilet separated by a privacy wall and door and there was an actual bidet. Ezekiel wondered about that. Was it because his imagination included the bidet and as a modern person the system allowed him to include modern parts? He didn’t know but he was thankful regardless.

The washtub was in another section and it was huge. It could be filled with water through a faucet. There were actually two faucets, one for hot water and one for cold water. The last area was an actual sauna with benches and it had a privacy door as well.

The three of them kept saying “Wow!” since the washroom was truly impressive.
