TBE Chapter 61

  Ezekiel was highly amused at the way the four Tiny Servants that was made from the knives that he purchased from his system shopping site. The tiny warriors were very valiant and they were relentless in their attacks. He was sure though that the walking daggers wouldn’t be able to defeat the fat zombie chef and the two maids zombies but they were able to hold them off. He could see that soon, the knives would be damaged and he wasn’t sure if the walking knives would be able to continue if they were destroyed.

  He didn’t waste any more time and cast three Magic Missile spells toward the undead kitchen staff. The spells that he cast were as beautiful as fireworks glowing in the night sky. Ten glowing purple bolts appeared out of his hands and flew toward the heads of the monsters causing them to explode.

  Ezekiel noticed that it only required two bolts each for the heads for the head of the zombies to explode and the remaining bolts simply attacked the bodies of the zombies. The zombies fell and the Tiny Servant knives returned near him and acted as guards. He was falling in love with the Tiny Servants especially the way they acted. They looked like loyal soldiers guarding their superiors.

  He called Robert and Luke and they ran to him followed by Yuki Onna. Ezekiel wanted to make sure that his brothers were near him. While his brothers were looking around the kitchen but staying near him, he opened his browser system and on the first tab where the general information was located, it stated that his experience points climbed up to 30 percent. Ezekiel knew that the experience points did not solely come from the zombies but were also from the achievement points that he earned like the first monsters he killed or something like that but because he didn’t have any chat logs, he didn’t know for sure.

  Ezekiel still wondered why his system did not provide him with the details of the achievements that he received through some sort of chat log but then again, he was already thankful that he had a system and would not complain, at least loudly, about anything regarding it.

  He then explored the kitchen for anything they could take but even though it wasn’t empty like the main hallway or the possible dining room, all of the equipment in the kitchen was dilapidated or simply broken and unusable. He was still glad that he decided to attack the haunted mansion since it did increase his experience points and there was a chance that he would be able to level up to level four once he completed the mansion.

  Ezekiel and his brothers did notice another door, possibly some sort of storage room for food. Before he opened the door, he decided to upgrade his army. He decided to spend 2 silver coins to purchase ten sturdy butcher knives which were larger than the current knives he was using for the Tiny Servant spells.

  Because the cooldown of his spells was short, soon he had ten butcher knives in his army of Tiny Servants. Then he rearranged the spells that he would use if they encountered more monsters which in his opinion would be inevitable.

  Ezekiel didn’t dispel the first knives that he used for the Tiny Servant spells and just assigned them as his brothers' bodyguards. He wondered if he should increase the number of his Tiny Servants army but decided that the ten combatants and four bodyguards were enough but he would increase them if needed.

  He immediately commanded the Tiny Servants to open the door and as expected, there was a zombie behind it. Ezekiel didn’t know if he was disappointed or relieved that there was only one monster since they did increase his experience points. The ten Tiny Servant butcher knives made short work of the monster without Ezekiel needing to help them.

  Ezekiel was amused when he saw Robert and Luke cheering the knives when they saw them attacking the zombie. To be honest, the three siblings were impressed at the power that the Tiny Servants had shown them since they made short work of the zombie.

  “Woody is great!” Luke shouted.

  “They’re not Woody! They’re Knify soldiers! It's so fun to see them using their Knify heads to attack the monster! I want a Knify as well!” Robert shouted.

  “No. You can still play with the wooden blocks Tiny Servant but the ones made out of knives are too dangerous,” Ezekiel told his brother.

  Robert and Luke ignored him and kept on cheering the knives. When the zombie died, Ezekiel briefly checked his experience point and he saw that it climbed up to 35 percent. He commanded the butcher knives to inspect every inch of the storage room to make sure that there wouldn’t be any surprises then after a few minutes, the three brothers inspected the room. Unfortunately, nothing valuable was inside. It was full of possibly food that had long since gone bad. There wasn’t even a single piece of anything that could be considered as valuable like silver China or something.

  They did find a few skeleton corpses in one of the corners and Ezekiel thought that they may be some of the people who attempted to enter the mansion to inspect it. They did find a few purses containing some silvers and coppers and he immediately put those purses in his 4th tab space to be counted and inspected at a later time. Unfortunately, the other things of the corpses were broken and rotted.

  After they were done with the kitchen storage, they returned to the main hall. When Ezekiel checked the time, their adventure in the dining room and kitchen only took them less than an hour and that meant they still had plenty of time to explore the rest of the mansion.

  Ezekiel suddenly wondered if it was foolhardy of them to continue exploring the mansion. The fact that there were zombies meant that the existence of the supernatural was present and if there were some high-level monsters in the mansion like a necromancer or god forbid, a Lich, he thought that his power was not yet up to par to battle with those kinds of enemies.

  After a few minutes of thinking, he decided to risk his life and his brothers’ which made him feel a little guilty but because there were zombies, that meant that his supposition that he was the only thing magical for miles around was incorrect and that something magical could threaten him and his brothers and the only way for them to be truly safe was for him to increase his power as a mage.

  Then before they entered the right door, they heard some loud noises that scared the shit out of Ezekiel and his two brothers. It was a combination of a deep growl and some sort of high-pitched howling and he felt a deep ominous feeling from behind the door.

  It may be cowardly but that changed Ezekiel’s mind.

  “Let’s go and leave this place,” Ezekiel told his brothers and they hurried outside the mansion.

  He thought of sending his butcher knife army toward that room but he thought that there was a chance that if they couldn’t defeat the monsters in that room, those monsters would come out and attack them.

  They ran towards their cart that was parked in the nearby forest and saw Prince Charming waiting for them.

  While they were traveling back to the inn, Robert asked him something.

  “Why did we leave?”

  “My magic told me that the next monsters may be more powerful than me and I don’t want to endanger our lives,” Ezekiel told his brothers which was clearly just an excuse but fortunately, his brothers were too young to notice.

  Even though his last action was cowardly, it was better to be safe than sorry. He still had plenty of time to grow more powerful and in their travel, he hadn’t encountered anyone that could threaten them. He thought that his current power was enough for now and would probably wait until his body was older to embark on his goal of increasing his wizard level. He dispelled his butcher knives Tiny Servant Army and kept the knives in his 4th tab space.

  If he were alone, maybe he would have gone and continued exploring the mansion but he had to admit even to himself after a few minutes that he was just truly afraid. It was still early when they reached the inn and this time, the innkeeper asked him if they were successful in their hunting.

  Ezekiel knew that the fat innkeeper wanted to take advantage of him again but he didn’t want to bother himself in selling the meat so he told the man that he was. He had already prepared all the meat that he would sell, which was the remaining meat that he had received from butchering the animals that he had hunted.

  They went to the stable where the cart was parked followed by the innkeeper and presented the meat to the man.

  He received a total of 6 silver coins for the rest of the meat and he immediately kept them in his 4th tab space. When the innkeeper left, Ezekiel cleaned the cart and arranged all the wooden items that he purchased from the system shopping site so he could go to the market and sell them.

  Ezekiel then told his brother that they could go roam the village and play and he would send Yuki Onna to them with their lunch at lunchtime. The kids then ran off while he prepared himself to travel to the market.
