Interlude: Lord of Samsara

The Earth remembers, that is a common saying. It means everything happening in the world, no matter if it was forgotten, even if time destroys every trace.

  The World will still remember.

Kalpas, the Records of Nature, is the closest being to the World. So it too remembers.

If Akasha was the Anchor separating the Past and Future. If Pan was the ever-flowing Stream of Time.

Then Shar is the river bank encompassing all.

  The Earth remembers.

Sitting alone in the desote wastend of South India, watching over a dimming ember. Kalpas' crystal body, one of its many puppets, watches as time goes on.

The other two Records, Akasha - Charlotte Silvi, and Pan - Avalon, do not approach it. As they know, out of all three, Kalpas is the strongest.

As the World itself is its pyground. It will be fighting against Chaos first, but... there is a problem.

As the World remembers, there is a pattern to Chaos. When Akasha obtained their first victory, the Records of Chaos was the Bull of Heaven, Guganna - an animal. When it became the Victor of the next Great Game, Chaos was World Tree, Yggdrasil - a tree from nature.

There is a pattern. If it were to follow this pattern... then the next Chaos would be...

  A human.

This poses a great problem, it does not know where to start looking. There are over 10 billion humans, and to single out one out is difficult.

Unlike a giant tree in the middle of Scandinavia, or a giant bull whose head can reach the atmosphere. A human is small and usually unnoticeable until too te.

"Only I can match the power of a fragment of the universe... but with each Game, Akasha and Pan grow stronger.", Kalpas muttered, looking upon the stars, "Yet I am still the same."

The Earth knows. Charlotte and Avalon pnned to jump it when it defeated Chaos.

The logical choice would be to catch them off-guard by attacking first. But no, Kalpas decided to wait it out and focus more on building its army.

There is always a pattern. Avalon focuses on killing themselves over and over again, as each death makes them stronger, they are always the strongest attacker. Then Charlotte, who has all the cards humanity has to offer and knows how to use them effectively, is the wildcard she is. And Kalpas itself, with its endless supply and ability to create an army, the strongest defense.

Chaos, however, is unique. As it takes characteristics from the Records it mimics. So combine the power based on the Original One and the unpredictable nature of Akasha...

  A terrifying monster is born.

"I guess I should move out...", it stood up, looking to the East, "Akasha... no, Remus. I shall fulfill the promise of my previous self... to end the Great Game."

  But it fell silent.

"Are you sure about ending it, my child?", a cryptic voice, full of malicious intent came from behind.

"Yes, Mother.", Kalpas replied and turned around.

There, a Dragon of Darkness, bigger than any Dragon on Earth... it does not have eyes, instead a veil covered its face. With two beefy hind legs, four arms as wide as the biggest pilrs, and two wings covering the starry night sky.

Only a part of its head was lit by the fire, but that was enough to show the overwhelming presence of the Ego of Earth itself.

"What name do you go by this time, Terra? Gaia? Or Tiamat Abzu?", there was clear, unveiled distain from the Records of Nature.

"It is Theia now, my child.", it bellowed a ugh.

"To take the name of the sister you swallowed, you are truly despicable."

"Rex, you brat. Who cares about someone who is dead? And you are hardly the only one who talks behind my back, except for Neferima, every other pnet doesn't like me."

"Of course, only the most toxic pnet could handle the cruelest one. Now, go back to your room, Theia.", it shoo'ed the Ego of Earth away.

"No.", Theia crossed all four of its arms.

  "Go."

  "Nope."

  "Stop acting like a child."

"I am the Ego of Earth, I do whatever the fuck I want. You can't ground me.", it pouted, looking away.

  "Theia..."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!", and in the end, Theia crushed the puppet into glittering dust.

"You have become agitated more than normal, Theia.", but another man made out of crystal rose up from the ground, "What is wrong?"

"So, Akasha tore apart the fabric of reality. I had to move them all across the world and fix them ONE BY ONE!! That cunt really doesn't know what she just did!! It was fortunate enough that the Lord of Tindalos didn't come!! But the Beasts of Tindalos is another fucking matter!! Mobilizing ALL of the Dragons to deal with the tears was a fucking chore! They are zy as fuck!! Nobody fucking listens to me!!"

Kalpas just stood there, listening to Theia's rant. At some point, it disconnected from the body and went somewhere else...

To Iraq, where its real body was.

Here, Kalpas stood in the ruins of Uruk, the First City. Here where there once was a great city and the base model for all other cities in the world... only the foundation still lingers.

Over five thousand years, for the greatest city before Rome, Kalpas can see the ghosts of the people who once lived here, their daily lives...

The Earth remembers, even now Kalpas can still feel the great power of the Original Hero... its burning form, like a torch under the night sky, head towards the former pace of King Gilgamesh...

Commanding the earth itself, parting the ground of the pace ground... to reveal a staircase leading down.

Upon the first step, it felt an immediate disconnection from the world... the stairs, as well as the entire room underneath, were made out of metal.

"So this is why I cannot feel anything..."

Meteoric metals are its weakness, as it cannot control things coming from space.

Without hesitation, Kalpas continues to walk down. Its body lit up the walls... the murals depicting a story.

A king born with power beyond imagination, a king who was a tyrant doing whatever he wanted...

  Until that faithful day.

A man made of mud and cy came to Uruk, and challenged the king to a fight. A fight for the rights of the people.

Seven days, seven nights. The fight between the tyrant and the mud man was unrelenting, half of the city was destroyed at the end of their bout...

  With the tyrant still standing.

It is the nature of life for the weak to die at the hands of the strong. But the nature of humanity had a different outlook.

Instead of dying right then and there... the mud man became the comrade of the tyrant, the only one he saw as equals. Some perhaps say... they were roommates.

These murals tell a story. The oldest story of humanity, the Epic of Gilgamesh.

And at the bottom of the stairs in a wide room made out of metal. In the middle y an altar with a box on top...

But something appeared before Kalpas, a mirage of sorts. Standing in front of the altar, a suit of living armor imbued with a purple aura...

  The Earth remembers.

A vestige of a great king, standing here eternally to guard the tomb of his... friend.

"So this is one of the reasons why Akasha became so... weak. A fragment of their power, so selfishly ripped out to protect the corpse of your friend."

The armor spoke nothing— it appeared right in front of Kalpas, and almost punched the Records of Nature in the face. But Kalpas moved back just in time.

There was no time in between the attack.

  Again and again.

Kalpas barely dodged the onsught from the vestige. Even if it was just a mere fragment of Akasha's power... it still embodies a fragment of humanity.

  And this power affects causality.

"This... will take a while.", Kalpas sighed.

The Records of Nature took a step back, cracking its knuckles and neck. Its mask of the Samsara wheel began to spin and its body began to produce even more fire.

The Avatar of the End, Kalpas, the Sharric Records, begins to take things seriously.
