Dean of Libertas

Just like everyone, there are things I like and don't like. For example, I don't enjoy sour food, it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.

The same with seaweed, I don't like the taste of it. No amount of rice is going to cover up the taste.

"I don't like it.", I gave the rest of my dish to Hoa.

"It's not good to be picky.", she scold me.

"I like things that taste mild, the fish and seaweed aren't for me.", I smile, standing up to go to the food stand.

"Charlotte!", Mitsuki greeted me, in a sushi chef outfit no less, "Did you find the sushi to suit your taste?"

I shook my head, "It's unfortunately not for me."

"Not everyone likes sushi, that's okay! C'mon, Charlotte! I have some other street foods! Takoyaki? Dango? Onigiri? Taiyaki? Pick whatever you like!"

She handed me the menu board. Well, I'm in the mood for something sweet.

  "A dango skewer.", I ordered.

She nodded with a smile, "Dango, coming right up! Oda-san, a dango skewer for this girl!"

The girl in the back, looking very straightforward, brought out a dango skewer in a box for me.

"Thanks.", I took it and paid for the snack with a phone scan.

"Have a try!", Mitsuki urged me.

Taking the skewer out of the box, I found three balls with the colors pink, white, and green in that order. Representing spring, winter, and... summer? Or is it fall? I don't bother to remember.

Taking a bite out of the pink one, and pulling it off the skewer— I ate it whole. Mhm, not that sweet and pretty chewy, I get why people like this.

After a solid minute of chewing, I swallowed with a satisfied smile. Hm? Why are the four vendors, including Mitsuki, looking at me?

  "I like it."

For some reason, all of them jumped up in joy, high-fiving each other in celebration.

"Oda-san!! Quick! Hang up the sign!!", Mitsuki directed.

Oda nodded, hanging a sign saying... 'Approved by Charlotte Silvi'. Well, I'll let them do their thing—

"My favorite daughter!!", I was lifted up from behind by an all too familiar person.

"Let go of me!!", I created a knife, stabbing Seria in the neck—

But a hand caught it, "Woah there, calm down little dy."

I snapped my azure gaze over... huh, another dragon. This one has purple hair that turns to teal halfway down. Her eyes are heterochromia, with her right being light blue and her left being magenta. She's taller than Seria too. With her business suit, she gives off that responsible adult vibe.

"Abby, please put her down. You shouldn't do things people don't like.", she then took me from Seria, hugging me instead. With my feet dangling in the air.

  What the fuck?

"Hello, little one.", she spoke in a gentle tone, "My name is Selen Champin, Dean of Libertas Academy in Texas. Nice to finally meet you."

Selen Champin... damn. She's more normal than I thought.

I thought she would be crazier for the woman running the worst Academy for Gem Holders...

"Abigail, I want to transfer.", I stated.

Everyone just stares at me... what? What's wrong with moving?

Seria chuckles, "I won't let you go unless you do something for Selen over there~"

"Selen, what do you want?", I look up at her.

The Dean put her thoughts in, looking around, seeing everyone waiting for her response, "Be here for two years, and I'll wait for your answer."

Two years here... well, not too bad I might say.

  "What will I be answering?"

"I don't know, little one. I would come up with it at some point.", she patted my head.

  "Okay.", I nodded.

She put me down, gently. Kind words, gentle gestures... I like Selen.

"Well, it's time for me to mess with John and Setana. Catch you guys ter.", she went on alone towards the main building.

"So what are you doing today, Charlotte?", Seria asked.

"Shoot an arrow with my feet while blindfolded. Enna."

Hearing my call, a bow dropped down from the sky. I grabbed it and pulled the bowstring right away, while also manifesting an arrow with Ars Goetia.

I shot the arrow at Seria— which she caught right away.

"I'm looking forward to your performance.", she grinned, handing me back the arrow.

"I will always be the very best.", because I am Charlotte Silvi.

Before I went to prepare myself, I got a great idea!

"Hey, Abigail. Could you do me a favor?"

Her eyes became sharp, grinning ear to ear, "What would you like to do?"

"Something to make the event more interesting..."

As night fell, everyone gathered in the Colosseum, sitting around to watch the coming talent show.

After some amazing dispy of their power or skill, the reflection of a person's ego can be reflected by how they act, and what they show.

And the person everyone was looking forward to finally came... everyone wonders who she truly is.

"Next up is The Silver Princess of Humanity, who captured everyone's heart with her daring moves, and her prideful personality!! Please make way for... Charlotte Silvi!!", the announcer pointed his hand over to the entrance, and the crowd went wild.

Wearing a simple and pin white shirt and shorts, humming to herself an ominous tune. Her azure eyes were covered by a piece of cloth, but it did not stop her all-knowing gaze. Her oppressing presence alone silenced the crowd, as they felt like they needed to prostrate in front of her...

With the target board across the arena from her, Charlotte stood on her hands, while using her bare feet to pick up the bow and arrow. The bow is a simple one, made out of wood. Not a compound bow, nor a longbow, just a bow made for hunting critters.

With her feet she pulled the bowstring, using her back as the anchor.

Taking in a deep breath, she expanded her world. From the insects crawling on the ground, the breath of the people, the soft breeze, the movements of the people outside...

  She can see it all.

A target 60 meters away was like child py for her. So she let go.

  —Pnk!!

The arrow became a blur, only stopped by the target board can people see the arrow properly.

  "Justice.", she whispered.

Then hundreds of weapons made of Justice Mist dropped down from the ground. Everyone wonders what she will be doing.

"Listen to me, one and all.", she smiled, standing upright, "I will be fighting someone as my next act."

"Uhm... you can only perform what you signed up for—", the announcer choked on his word as Charlotte took off her blindfold.

Her intense gaze shut him up, "Look at me, does this face look like someone who would listen to rules?"

"Anyway.", she turned around, "Since she has agreed to this... I want to see how powerful..."

  "...a dragon actually is."

Stepping out from the gate is a woman in a robe made of purple scales, reflecting the faint light of the moon. Her smile was a confident one, exposing her extended fangs. She brushed her purple and teal hair with her draconic hand.

"Greetings everyone, I am Selen Champin. You may know me as the Dean of Libertas.", she gave the crowd a courtly bow, with her left hand on her chest and her right arm up to the side.

"Due to the request of my best friend's daughter, I am here to satisfy her bloodlust.", her eyes gleamed a dangerous light.

"But not everyone can see— not everyone can know what I can do."

Everyone held their breath, wondering what Selen would do. But those who have heard of Selen Champin was tense, gripping their seat with a heavy heart—

Many had challenged her in the past, and few had survived fighting her. And most of all, no one knows how she fights.

Mysteries upon mysteries, she earned herself the Epithet of... the Champ Monster— the Leviathan of Victory.

  "Request: ???? ?? ??? ????????? ????? ????? ???? ???? ??????. ???? ?? ??? ????????? ????? ????? ??? ??????? ?? ??? ????.", She spoke the Draconic Tongue.

Reality cracked open, the sky rend itself apart— and an eye, serpentine in nature - bearing an ocean blue sclera with vibrant red iris - bore down upon the stadium. Everyone was thrown into panic, trying to run away from the eldritch scene happening before their eyes, some sat still in their seat bearing witness to the monstrosity before their eyes.

Looking up to the sky, Charlotte instinctively knew whom the eye belonged to.

"Theia...", she whispered the name, "Ego of Earth."

The sky further cracked, and a massive hand, bigger than Mu, surrounded by a mist of darkness extended out—

  —It gives a thumbs up.

Then everything returned to normal. Everyone looked confused, looking around wondering what the fuss was all about.

Shrugging, they returned to their seat to watch the duel between the Silver Princess of Humanity and the Leviathan of Victory.

"Are you well-prepared?", Selen asked Charlotte.

"Enna.", she snapped her finger, and from the sky dropped down three items. Ars Goetia, Fallen Starlight, and Quirinus.

Dawning on her back is the Garment of Solomon, her left hand holding the Barrel Pointed at God, and her right carrying the Lance of the World.

  "I am ready..."

A spark of silver fshed in her eyes, disappearing as soon as it appeared.

She awakens both Fallen Starlight and Quirinus, both weapons glowing with the power of Justice and Malice. She is going all out, in order to defeat the Leviathan...

"By the Rite of Steel and Gunpowder!! I will never know defeat!!"
