There is something nice about bringing a pet to css, you can both rex and study at the same time. Well, I don't really need to study as everything is already in my mind.
"Charlotte, are you paying attention to css?", Alfred got close to me.
"I am.", I give him a firm gaze while stroking Avalon on my p.
"Then can you solve the problem on the board?"
Hmm, a math question. Well...
"The answer is x equals 1,25 and x equals -1,25.", I said the answer out loud.
"Correct! Haha! You seem to be good at math!", he ughed, heading up to the front.
I am good at everything. There is no need for me to study, as I just need to stay here for a couple of years and socialize.
"You seem to be quite x, Charlotte.", Hoa called me out, still fiddling with her phone.
Hoa, the Regent of Fire Vampires. Someone chosen by an Eldritch God... I want to see her full strength in action. I want to see the gap between me, the Records of Humanity, and the Strongest Vampire...
"The power to Calcute the World has its merits, I encounter math every day after all.", I look up at the ceiling fan, spinning. I can see the rotation speed of it, the numbers, the vectors, and the energy it consumes.
I can see everything.
"Above the Earth and under the Sky, I alone am the honored one.", I grinned.
"Stop it with that high and mighty smug, we all know you are the best at everything.", she rolled her eyes, "Anyway, how do you do this one?"
She showed me the problem on her paper. This isn't too hard.
"Do you want me to write the whole solution out?", I asked her.
"Yes.", she nodded.
"Buy me a drink after css.", I smiled as I began to write the equations, setting the formus for her.
"Nothing too expensive, okay?", she sighed.
"Of course, if I want to bankrupt you I would do other things.", a chuckle left me, "Well, here is the solution."
She took the paper back, she nodded, "Huh, this isn't too complicated. Thanks."
I am just that good. I smirked, returning to my ptop. Just watching videos, like, how to make Sarin on the dark web. I know how to make it, but it doesn't harm anyone to just waste time.
Everything is pretty boring now, after fighting Selen. I need better stimution, like, fighting an Eldritch God or something— wait, I did that before. An endless horde of tentacle monsters wasn't a challenge under the destructive force of Malice.
Destructive... that's the reason I don't use it so often. Nothing would remain when burned with the fire of evil.
The css passed by quickly, just some simple math for me. Hoa is still struggling with math, and she's Asian... wait, no, she's an alien so that doesn't really count.
"Alright, this is the end of today's css. For Friday, we will learn about natural geography.", he smiled, "I will also be teaching you that subject!"
Some of the css celebrated since Alfred is a pretty x teacher. As long as you can fulfill what he asked for, you can do anything.
I disconnected from the dark web, folded my ptop down, and packed it in my portfolio. I'll just jump out of the window like normal.
"Hey, Charlotte.", someone called me out, and I gnced back. Oh, it's one of my cssmates, Dan was his name.
"Uh... are you free this evening? We pnned to have the whole css go out for a group party. Would you like to join?", he rubbed the back of his head, blushing.
I can see the boys in the back giggling. This is some kind of bet from what I see.
"Sure, tell me the location and time. I don't really have anything pnned for today.", aside from maybe picking a fight with the resident Dragon here.
"Y-You will? That's great!!", he turned to his friends, "Guys, I did it!"
I rolled my eyes. Well, I am the strongest person in the academy after all. Being intimidating comes with privileges, like people regards you in a higher light, and have better expectations of you.
But I am only human.
"We will meet at Outback Steakhouse in the 22nd Street! We hope you will be there at 6!", Dan said to me.
"Cool, see you guys.", and I hopped out of the windows.
Landing on the ground, I see there aren't many people giving strange looks, since me jumping out of the window has become a common scene.
I got over to the parking lot, got my sportbike, and rode off. Enna is still in the sky...
There are a lot of things I need to do now. Since I've known defeat for the first time... I want to feel it more. The feeling of being beaten when you did your best is frustrating... but it feels so good... the knowledge of I can do better next time, I can be stronger...
My loss awakened something in me, a craving for power... a lust for domination...
Aah~ this feels nice. My blood is boiling with excitement...
=0=0=
Getting back home, I y on my bed to get some rest. I feel strangely sleepy... this has never happened before.
Because your body is giving out, my dear. You are exhausted, with Survive and me managing extra adrenaline so you can keep going as normal. But...
But too much of something can affect me badly, right?
Correct, my dear. You need a few more hours of sleep for it to naturally regenerate.
Then... I'll go to sleep now, I'll wake up at 4 p.m and get ready.
Closing my eyes, I went to sleep instantly like normal. But... instead of waking up, I entered a dream...
But I never dreamed before.
I find myself inside a city made of metal, blue circuit lines going around. Where I stood was in the middle of the road but with no cars. There is not a single soul here...
Is this my... Mental Pace? No, it couldn't be. I haven't even made a concept for it yet...
"This pce is more special than that.", a feminine voice came from behind me... taking me by surprise.
I swung my fist— but it was caught by the figure standing there. There a pin woman was wearing a white toga, a silver neckce adorned with several jewels, golden bracelets signifying her status. Bearing golden eyes, shimmering with a calming light in them. She looks beautiful with that long glossy brown hair.
"Who are you?", I asked.
She looks around, checking for something, "We should head to a different location. This pce isn't appropriate for us to talk in."
"Sure, whatever floats your boat.", I smiled and followed her from behind.
She feels... so familiar to me. As if I've seen her before. She certainly isn't Erin, their body structure is too different.
We reached a building, where we began to walk up it.
"By the way, my name is Charlotte Silvi.", I introduced myself.
She gnced back at me, "Pandora."
I stopped on my track... Pandora... damn.
"That Pandora?", I widen my eyes.
"The very same one.", she nodded.
Pandora, the woman who opened the Pandora's Box, unleashing sins and evils upon humanity. I wonder how that story came to be... and why is she here?
We got into the building, going up the stairs. Everything here is made of metal, so my shoes made a lot of noise. While Pandora is... barefoot, her steps are almost silent.
This is getting awkward.
"Pandora, why are you here in my dream. Are you something that my mind made up?", I asked her to break the silence.
She gnced back at me, thinking about it, "No, not really. You see, I am more than just a figment of imagination."
"Being vague doesn't make one look cool.", I pointed it out.
"Just because you are correct doesn't mean you are right.", she retorted, gncing back at me.
That doesn't even make sense.
We got onto the rooftop, where a table and two chairs were id there. I sat down on one and Pandora went for the opposite.
I got right into it, looking over at the city of metal, "Where is this pce exactly?"
She hummed, "Hmm, this is Aeolia, my home. At least what it looks like during my time."
Aeolia? What kind of city is this? Reverie, expin.
...
No voice answered me. Anyone? Are you there?
...
Still nothing... I can't communicate with them.
"Are you trying to communicate with your powers?", Pandora asked.
I nodded, "Yes, but I can't speak to them for some reason...", it annoys me.
"Hmm, they respond to your desires, becoming what you want from the deepest part of your unconscious mind.", she expined, bringing her hands together, "Even if you don't realize it yourself, there are things you want. And when you obtain them... the voices will disappear."
So I have Schizophrenia?
"That doesn't expin why I can't hear them.", I continue my questions.
"The reasons are simpler than you might think. Because this pce is the Akasha.", she drew a circle on the table with her index finger.
"Akasha... you mean the Akashic Library?"
Pandora shook her head, "Yes and no, the Akashic Library is only a part of Akasha... it is something much, much bigger."
"Stop it with those vague words. Speak clearly.", I huffed, smming my hand on the table and staring her down.
"Fine, fine~", she raised her hands surrendering, "The Akashic Records is the pce where all information about humanity exists at the same time. And this pce is where all of that information comes to life..."
"Then why are you—", aah... I see.
She smiled, her golden eyes shining brightly as I found out what she was...
"I am Pandora, Keeper of Hope. As you realized, I am the Records of Mankind, one of your previous incarnations.", she stated with her arms wide open, presenting herself.
"...", I stared at her chest, bountiful and..."Your toga slipped, I can see your nipple."
"Ah!", she quickly pulled the right side up, covering her chest, "There goes my cool introduction."
I chuckled, "At least that broke the ice."
But really... Pandora... this doesn't make any sense. The time between Gilgamesh and Remus was more than three thousand years, and Nyar said Chaos, or Azathoth, only wakes up every three thousand years, give or take. The Great Game shouldn't be happening when Pandora was said to appear, during the Greek Dark Ages.
"I know what you are thinking.", she chuckled.
Is she going to reveal that she's actually Gilgamesh?
"Because humanity had separated itself from the World a long, long time ago. Our cycle doesn't work in the same way as the others, it's more... erratic, yes, sometimes an Akasha will be born outside of the Great Game. I am one of them."
Huh, not what I was expecting. So I am not being controlled by Theia, this is good...
"Then what's your story?", I asked her.
"Nothing too exciting.", she shrugged, "My main enemies were the Greek Gods, they had the bright idea of trapping all of humanity's sins and evil, sealing away what makes humans... human. They succeeded, so it all comes down to me to steal the Jar of Sins, what people today call Pandora's Box. With the help of Prometheus and Epimetheus, I managed to steal the jar, and... the rest is history."
"It was the right thing to do, after all."
There was a nostalgic air hung around us... I can feel her emotions. Maybe... because she is me, my previous self.
Someone who took the burden of being beled the Mother of Camity. Someone who selflessly made herself the vilin... or the victim of it all, as mythology told it.
Because it was the right thing to do. Just because removing the sins of humanity was the correct thing to do, to make people live a virtuous life, it doesn't mean it was right, our sins are what make us unique...
I see a story here... Gilgamesh kickstarted the end of the divine, Pandora showed opposition— defying the cruelest Pantheon, showing that humanity can deny the divine and Remus... he ended the divine era for good.
So... what is my purpose? I feel something sinking in me...
What can I do?
B????e???y????o????u????r????s?????e????l???f?????B???e???y?????o????u????r?????s???e????l???f????B???e????y????o???u????r?????s?????e????l????f?????B?????e????y????o????u???r????s????e????l?????f????
No... there is nothing for me to do now. But I am sure I can find something to find a purpose other than... defending humanity. Babel has already done a very good job at that.
—As I was thinking about it, I heard something shattered. I look around, seeing reality is... cracking away.
"It is time for you to return, Charlotte.", she smiled, holding my hands from across the table, "Remember, no matter what your choice is, we will always be by your side."
She continues, "Because we are you, you are us. Your choice is our choice."
Then the entire world shattered—
"After all, we are humanity itself—"
I returned to the pitch bck world, familiar it is. I never had a dream before, not one I can remember anyway.
Waking up in my bed, I look at the time on my phone... 4 p.m.
It is time to get ready. Going out with the css, huh.
Still, something Pandora said stuck in my mind. 'Because it was the right thing to do'.
"Because it is the right thing to do...", it doesn't roll off my tongue, "But... how about... for the right cause..."
Because it's for the right cause... yeah, that sounds better.
I think I mulled over this for long enough, let's get ready.
