Edicts of the World

Today is Magic Study, which I just decided on a whim more than anything.

Hoa is with me today since she just wants to fill her schedule with something she already knows. We choose to sit next to each other, on the row at the top. This pce is a lecture hall, with a giant bckboard for us all to see.

More and more people walked in, taking their seats and chatting to those they were familiar with.

"You know, yesterday... I want to ask you about something. Who was the person you hung out with?", I started a conversation

"You mean Uvoma? I sucked him dry. Though I got a headache from his songs...", she clicked her tongue, "Should've brought some earplugs."

"There was an assassination attempt on me, nothing to worry about.", I mentioned in an off-handed way, like it was nothing.

"You are the daughter of Abigail Silrco, I expected it to happen more often.", she nodded.

"That's what Enna is here for, she is my bodyguard after all.", even though I have no idea what she does half the time— but I know there is some sort of deal between her and Seria.

Oh, Vd walked right in. Still the tall man in a red trench coat, red wide-brim hat, and red shades. His presence made the entire room go quiet.

  Seems fun...

"Greetings, I am Alucard Strigoi. For this Course and this Course only, I will be teaching you about the wonders of magic and how to use it."

He smmed the table, grabbing all of the attention.

"Before we begin, I will y out three important Rules of Magic, these are the rules created by King Solomon in order for Magic to not be the end of humanity."

  Hey, I have his jacket!

Vd began to write on the bckboard, "The Law of Preservation, Magic cannot be used to harm another and only be used for protection."

I doubt people would listen. It is human— no, the nature of all life on Earth to find the most efficient way to kill one another.

"The Law of Empathy, Magic cannot be used to cause suffering and only be used to understand each other."

Again, I doubt any sadistic person would ever listen. Plus, it's the rules of humanity, not just the world - suffering is the motto of Earth, after all.

"The Law of Diligence, the path of Magic is one of no return, if you have committed yourself to it then you must see it to the end."

Not for me~ I can't even use Magic. I smiled, tapping the table with interest.

Hm? Vd stares directly at me, "Miss Silvi, would you like to say something?"

I stood up with no hesitation, "Nothing in particur, no. I am someone incapable of using Magic, you see."

"Then why are you here in the first pce?", he questioned me, giving me an inquisitive gre.

"I want to learn about Magic, to find ways to counter it.", I let my Imperial Aura bsting at full power, letting the oppressive air make myself clear, "Why? Because I like crushing people who are high on their horses."

Aah~ those hostile gres, it feels good to be the center of attention. It feels good to be... hated. Hehahaha~

"Tell me, are you so confident about your abilities to the point of invoking the ire of almost everyone? Are you sure that you can fight everyone at the same time?", that was a provocation statement.

  I shall take the bite~

"You have no idea how confident I am.", I crossed my arms with a wide grin, "Even without my weapons, I can easily bring this pce down if I wanted to..."

"Go.", he pointed over at the door, "Get out of this pce."

I casually sat down, "Why? I wasn't going to open my mouth in the first pce, you called me out and I just said what is right. You are the one at fault here."

He let out a sigh, I could feel his frustration going down a bit, "Charlotte Silvi, if you are so confident—"

A bde made of Justice Mist appeared right beside me, pointing directly at Vd.

"Continue your lesson, while I am still being nice.", I ced my words with Euphoria, making everyone calm down.

"Hmph, alright.", he looked away, "As I was saying, the Three Laws of Magic are what kept Mages from going overboard, as they will be prosecuted by the Witch Hunters if they break the first two Laws."

"So keep in mind when using your powers.", he looked over all of the students, then his gaze nded on Hoa, "Miss Hoa, did you listen to all I said?"

Hoa looked up from her phone, "Yes, loud and clear."

"Good, but please refrain from getting distracted in css.", he sternly said.

Hoa just shrugged, putting her phone away... only to gnce over at my ptop, which has Minekraft pvp videos. She is bored as fuck.

"Now onto the basics.", Vd wrote on the bckboard again, showing three kinds of Magic.

"First of all is the Heavenly Edict, using your voice to command the elements of the world. It is the rarest type for non-Gem Holders, only one out of three billion humans are capable of using it.", he looks around, "Can someone name a few of them?"

Several people raised their hands, "Mister Foster."

A guy covered in shadow stood up, "I can name a few on top of my head. Queen Morgan, the Great Sage Merlin, and the Witch of London."

Vd nodded, "Good, can someone expin more about each individual Mister Foster just mentioned?"

He looks around, picking another student, "Miss Moore."

A girl with vibrant green hair stood up, "Queen Morgan Pendragon is the person who united Britain under her rule. As legends told, she made a deal with the Fairy King, Oberon, to gain eternal protection from the Fae in exchange for resurrecting his Queen. Now she resides in the Lost Isle of Avalon with her brother, Prince Arthur Pendragon, as the legends said."

Speaking of Avalon, I wonder what happened to the original inhabitants after my Avalon took over.

"Good.", Vd nodded, "Queen Morgan was said to be able to bend nature to her will, creating giant tree golems capable of altering the ndscape at will."

He looks around again, "Mister Bismarck."

A man covered in burning armor stood up, "Merlin, or as people call him in the legends, The Great Sage. He can see through everything— the truth of the world itself. However, he never revealed it."

"Wonderful, as Mister Bismarck said, Merlin can see the truth of the world, whatever it may be. As a bonus, he has a version of foresight— that may be a reason for why he sealed himself. Legends said he will emerge once again when Britain need him the most."

Merlin, huh. Who can use foresight... a power gifted by The World itself. I wonder, will I have to face one of these beings?

Vd's expression turned grim. Well, the next person is someone incomprehensible.

He began to speak with a grave tone, "I will brush over the Witch of London, as she is a topic for another day. As some of you know, in 1566, a woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the middle of London— she burned down the city, and then she destroyed half of Britain at that time... then she vanished from the annals of history."

None was the wiser, Seria wasn't someone chosen by the World. She is just an insane bitch.

"As Gem Holders, we are capable of using the Heavenly Edict due to the connection of our Devil to the World. Command the world with your will, and it shall obey you. Some of you are capable of reaching the power of the true Mages."

"I hope none of you go overboard and go mad with power."

Well, I am already mad with power. I had nobody to teach me how to hold back, after all.

He then continued to write the next Edict, "Next is the Earthly Edict, using Runes to write the nguage of the world. This is something everyone can do, you just have to be precise enough to not get anything wrong."

Runes is something I am quite familiar with at this point. After working to modify Fallen Starlight, I can say I am an expert in Runes.

"Currently, we have found 30 different Runes and deciphered the correct way of drawing 20 of them. You can find them online, and attempt to draw them in your free time."

Runes are pretty dangerous if not drawn properly, like creating a fire that's a bit too strong for one to handle.

"I will get more in-depth as we make it further into the course, as this will be our main focus.", he tapped the board, "And I want to introduce you to the oldest form of Magic, what we now call Spiritual Edict."

Murmurs started going around since not everyone had heard of the Spiritual Edict. It is the one, in order to use, that has the highest price to pay.

"Using your very soul as fuel to bend the world to your will, is dangerous. I advise you not to use it, as depleting your life force reduces your lifespan, and a takeover will happen.", he gnced around, then he stopped at me, "Miss Silvi, how were you before you obtained your Gem?"

  He is targeting me again.

"I honestly can't remember, I was very young then. And frankly, I don't care.", I lied, smiling while crossing my arms, "What do you want me to do?"

"Because it seems to me that you have no control over your Devil.", he stated, making everyone murmur.

Did he really just insult me? Me? The Silver Princess of Humanity?

"You really... hah~ you know, I have full control over them.", I closed my ptop, pushing it over to Hoa's side.

I stepped on the table, smiling while my eyes dited to red, "You don't know me, at all. I am always in control."

Reverie... give me the Book of Vd Tepes the Third.

Information about his life flooded me... ah~ what a sad, miserable little shit.

"Vd the Impaler, the Most Evil Man in History. Do you want me to reveal your entire history? Let's see...", I closed my eyes, "When you were captured by the Ottoman... you were ra—"

I leaned my head to the side, avoiding a rusty spear coming from Vd.

"Don't you dare say anything, brat.", he warned me.

"Then don't provoke me... or else."

"Tch.", he clicked his tongue, muttering under his breath, "Bringing you down a peg is harder than expected..."

You can't bring me down, you can never make me step down... because I am humanity after all. I alone stood on top of the world.
