The Monarch being a Babysitter

It's mid-December now, so my time here is drawing to a close.

Currently, I'm taking care of Anastasia in my house, Kratos dropped her off here. Pying with the kid. She's a demigod, so her growth is unnaturally fast.

In just over a few weeks, this child had developed significantly. Especially her hair, the familiar silver color of Greek, had grown to cover her entire head.

Oh? She was reaching out to Marmyadose, seeing the sapphires sparkling. Curiosity is what makes children cute.

I touched Marmyadose, "Can the child touch you?"

The sword spoke to me with a small hum. It agreed.

I carried Anastasia in my arms, letting her touch the sword— what the fuck?

She just picked it up, swinging it around. Hitting my Domination a few times.

"Now now, you can't swing a sword indoors, Anastasia.", I carried her with one hand and took the sword away from her.

Seriously... how can a literal newborn pick up a sword that is heavy to me?

  Hmm? What is it, Marmyadose?

The sword expined to me, making me nod and feel a bit frustrated.

The Sword of Hero has no definitive weight, as it is the weight of responsibility one has. A baby has no responsibility, so she can pick it up anytime she wants.

Still... Anastasia, you can't just py with my property as you like. But because you are so cute, I'll let this slide.

She still tried to reach out to the sword. Her azure eyes were focused on the gems.

I put her back into her crib, smiling, "Do you want to see something cool?"

"Ooou?", her attention returned to me.

I snapped my finger, summoning the Book of Akasha.

"Oou!!", she reached out to the book, full of excitement.

But can she safely touch it?

  "Mitsuki.", I called her out.

Running down the stairs was my new best friend, Hoa will be leaving soon so that position is up for grabs.

Huh, she's my only friend now.

  I really am a loner.

"What do you need?", Mitsuki smiled, then she looked at Anastasia, her eyes sparkled, "She's so cute!!"

Startled, tears began to well up in Anastasia's eyes, "U... uu..."

"Aah!! I-I'm sorry!", Mitsuki rushed over, "Big sis won't do anything!!"

"Mitsuki, you are being too loud.", I chided her a bit.

"Waaaah!!!", the baby burst into tears, crying loudly.

"Come here now, Anastasia.", I hold her up patting her back, "It's okay, Mitsuki didn't mean to startle you. Auntie is here with you."

I began to sing a lulby,

"Hush now, little one, close your eyes,The moon is shining in the skies. The stars are dancing, soft and slow,Guiding you where dreams will flow.

Rest your head, my precious dear,My love is always near. The world is quiet, calm, and deep,It's time to drift to peaceful sleep.

The breeze will sing a gentle tune,Carried by the silver moon.So sleep, child, safe and sound,In dreams, the sweetest joys are found.

Hush now, little one, night is here,With every whisper, feel no fear.Tomorrow’s light will greet your smile,But rest in my arms for a little while..."

I pced her back in the crib, then I gnced at Mitsuki.

"You need to reign in your excitement.", I stated as I pat Anastasia's head.

"Sorry...", she smiled wryly, gncing away, "But why did you call me here?"

"Well, can you touch the book?", I pointed at the Book of Akasha.

Mitsuki grabbed the book from the air, flipped it open then frowned, "There's nothing in here."

  "Okita Mitsuki.", I spoke.

Then letters began to fill the pages. Mitsuki widens her eyes, flipping through the pages.

"Damn, you can really doxx anyone.", she muttered.

"That's essentially what Argent Alexandria is, didn't I tell you before? It's a massive global doxxing site.", I said simply.

"Yeah, but reading this book... you knew everything.", she looked up at me, "Can I... check out someone?"

  "Who?", I asked her.

"He isn't on the website...", she averted my gaze.

That means either this person is an alien or... he is dead.

  She continued, "Orikami Matsuba..."

I snapped my finger, and the text on the book changed. He is dead.

"Oh...", her voice was small, "He was... killed by the Records of Beast."

Oh yeah... that. They came after I was exhausted from fighting the Fragment of the Universe. Well, at least that thing isn't a problem anymore.

"Was he someone precious to you?", I asked.

"Yeah... he was like a big brother to me...", she was sulking.

"Grab something from the fridge, Enna bought some ice cream yesterday.", I advised her, "You follow me, you have to live my way if you want to continue on this path. Break off the past, do not care about it. Live in the moment for the future to come."

That is my decree as the ruler.

"Yeah...", she replied weakly and headed to the kitchen.

  =0=0=

"Uu?", Anastasia looked at the paper in front of me.

It's an alchemical circle, an eight-ring one. Mostly comprised of gold and silver symbols with the element of phosphorus in the middle.

"I'm an Alchemist, do you want to see it?", I reached my hand out, grabbing a random trinket from the Book of Akasha.

  "Oo!!", she cpped her hands.

It has been a while since I taught someone Alchemy.

"Do you want some candy?", sucrose is pretty hard to make but I can manage.

  "Mhmm!!", she nodded. So cute.

"Deconstruct.", the trinket burst into particles, glowing brightly as it floats around the center of the ritual.

Anastasia tried to roll over and touch it. But I just pick her up and put her into my p. You are the safest person in the world right now, my dear niece.

  "Reconstruct.", I snapped my finger.

The particles clumped together, changing and becoming one... in a fsh of bright light— I immediately covered Anastasia's eyes, shielding them. What was created is a block of sugar... baby can't eat this.

Picking the baby up, I put her back in her crib. I smiled, "Auntie will be back after a bit."

"Uu?", she continues to stare at me.

I picked up the block of sugar and headed into the kitchen. Getting some milk from the fridge, I poured it into a pot, then added some water to make it less thick, and finally, I added the sugar cube.

  "Waaah!!", Anastasia cried out.

"Just wait for a bit, Anastasia.", I told her off.

  "WAAAAHHH!!!", she cried even louder.

In the end, I turned off the stove and moved her crib into the kitchen. With one hand, I carry her while the other stirs the pot continuously. I lowered the heat just for her.

Babysitting my niece is hard. But nothing I cannot solve.

After three minutes of boiling, I turned off the stove once again. I looked at Anastasia, who was getting sleepy again.

I gently put her back into the crib, then I took out some ice from the freezer, put a cube into the pot, and stirred.

  Hmm... this temperature is good.

Pouring the milk into a baby bottle, I carried it over to Anastasia.

"Anastasia, here.", I put it in her mouth.

She sucked on it quietly, enjoying the taste. Yes, this is how a baby should be, ignorant of the world.

I stare at Marmyadose in the living room... anyone can hold it, but not everyone can unleash its true power. Children is the exception to the rule.

  However...

Anastasia Silvi... my niece, do you think she is worthy to hold you?

  Marmyadose hummed to me.

The Fate of a Hero, huh... interesting.

In the evening, Kratos came to pick Anastasia up.

  "Da! Da!!", she called him.

"What is it, Ana? You want to say goodbye to Charlotte?", he turned to face me.

"Char! Char!", she waved her tiny arm at me.

"Feel free to come see me when I'm here.", I smiled, "Goodbye, Anastasia."
