Chapter 3 The Fragility of Love

Chapter 3: The Fragility of Love

Yang Qianruo seemed very satisfied with her reaction, a triumphant smile on her face: "Yan Jin, do you still dare to say that Yiyuan loves you?"

She stepped down the stairs and approached her. She thought Yang Qinger wanted to push her down, so she instinctively turned sideways and held onto the handrail of the stairs.

But before she could react, all she heard was a loud "ah" and then saw Yang Qiner rolling down the stairs.

She stared at Yang Qiner as she rolled down the stairs, completely unable to understand how she had rolled down.

Until she rolled down to the last step and then saw a figure quickly running towards the woman who was lying on the ground groaning, rushing over to hug her.

She seemed to have forgotten how to react, and all she could hear was that person's tense cries of "Ruòér, Ruòér"

Until Chu Yiran picked up Yang Qinger, coldly staring at her who was standing on the stairs in a state of shock.

Those black eyes seemed to be brewing a storm of anger. Like a whirlpool, it made people unable to help but sink in incessantly.

Yang Qianruo weakly opened her mouth in his arms: "Don't blame Jin'er, actually she...she didn't do it on purpose, she was just afraid I'd snatch you away, and got a bit emotional."

She suddenly widened her eyes and stared at the woman in his arms with a look of astonishment.

The next second, she felt a fiery gaze directed at her. She raised her head to look at him, only to see him staring at her like winter ice, as if he wanted to see through her.

She immediately understood that he didn't trust her.

"I didn't, I didn't push her, believe me, you have to believe me." She repeatedly tried to explain to the man in front of her, with a terrified look in her eyes.

"That's enough, I only believe what I see." He said in a low tone. Then he looked at her with a pained expression.

Then, without hesitation, he hugged Yang Qiner and ran out of the villa quickly, with anxiety between his eyebrows and urgency in his eyes.

She watched him leave with his back to her, and her tears instantly blurred her eyes. Her heart was filled with grievances and heartache.

She finally knew what Yang Qinger's smile meant.

She finally realized that there was no basic trust between them at all.

She fell ill after returning from the hospital that day and had a high fever for three days.

On the third morning, she finally woke up with a reduced fever, feeling as if she had just returned from a trip to the gates of hell.

As her consciousness slowly returned, she clearly felt someone holding her hand, a familiar feeling that instantly spread throughout every part of her body. However, she also felt the icy coldness in the palms of their tightly clasped hands. Her consciousness suddenly cleared, and as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw him sitting beside her bed.

She stiffened slightly, then thought of the indifference at the bottom of his eyes that day and what Yang Qinger had said that day.

"Yan Jin, do you think Yi Ran really loves you? He's just temporarily interested in you, and once he gets bored with you, he'll discard you!"

"The Yang and Chu families are neighbors, and no matter what, Yi Ran will still marry me in the future. You're just his temporary bedmate."

"And you're just an orphan, what qualifications do you have to marry into the Chu family?"

"Yan Jin, you probably don't know, but Yi Ran and I had a relationship, it was on your birthday."

  ……

Those scenes and words instantly filled her mind. She immediately felt a chill spread from the soles of her feet throughout her body. Her hand involuntarily clenched.

Chu Yiran's body stiffened, and he stared blankly at his empty palm before looking at the woman on the bed, seeing the fear in her eyes. His heart ached, and he pulled her hand over, sighing softly "Jin'er."

Hearing his familiar yet hoarse voice, the pain in her heart immediately engulfed her entire body like a large net.

She slightly shrunk back, then trembled as she spoke: "You go ahead and busy yourself, no need to accompany me. I'm fine now. I still want to sleep a bit more."

Immediately followed by another silence, the bedroom was quiet and only heard the sound of two people breathing.

She really didn't want him to care about her anymore, and the distrust between them had completely changed. The once intimate lovers had already hurt each other a thousand times over.

She wanted him by her side. But as soon as she thought of that day, and the fact that he had a relationship with Yang Qinger, her heart began to spread coldness again. Even breathing was painful.

She always wonders what makes their love so fragile and vulnerable.

What makes him treat her like this?

  What should she do?

My heart hurts so much, it's hard to breathe.

It feels like I'm going to die soon.
