Chapter 43: The Growth of a Summoner

Hiro had always known that his summoning ability was unique, but as he continued following the training recommendations from the Summoner’s Tablet, he began to realize just how powerful his bond with Chūta and Yamiha was becoming. The structured training had led to significant growth in both of his summons, refining their skills and unlocking new abilities he had never expected.

Chūta, once reliant on short bursts of wind to keep himself in the air, had now become so efficient with his wind gliding techniques that he could essentially fly. No longer just a creature that used the wind to support him, Chūta had mastered the ability to stay aloft indefinitely, shifting the air currents around him with subtle yet precise control.

It was an incredible development—one that gave Hiro a true aerial scout capable of sustaining long-term surveilnce or combat positioning.

His reflexes had also evolved according to the Summoner’s Tablet, now beled as intermediate. This was no minor improvement—Chūta had grown so attuned to the flow of air and movement that he could dodge thrown objects, sticks, or even kunai with near-superhuman reaction speed. Even while hovering midair, he could pivot, flip, and avoid incoming attacks as though he had precognition.

But what truly excited Hiro was Chūta’s newest offensive ability—Wind Bdes.

What had once been wild bursts of wind meant for propulsion had now refined into sharp, slicing currents of air that shot from Chūta’s wings like cutting bdes. Though the penetration was low, the speed and sharpness of these attacks made them capable of slicing through basic materials like rope, paper, and thin wooden barriers. It was a natural evolution of his wind-based attacks, making him not just an evasive fighter but an offensive one as well.

If Chūta’s development had been remarkable, Yamiha’s growth was equally, if not more, impressive.

Her woven silk had reached an entirely new level of durability. The webbing she now produced could withstand enormous amounts of weight without breaking, and to Hiro’s amazement, it had even become resistant to Chūta’s wind bdes. They had trained together, pushing each other to new limits—Chūta sharpening his slicing winds while Yamiha perfected the strength of her webbing.

Beyond sheer strength, Yamiha had also greatly reduced the chakra cost of weaving her silk, allowing her to use it more freely in both battle and training. What once drained her after prolonged use was now something she could maintain for long durations, weaving complex traps with minimal effort.

Her genjutsu-infused webbing had also evolved. Before, her webs only had the ability to induce sleep, but now she could infuse her chakra into them in more specialized ways. By adjusting the nature of her chakra as she wove her silk, Yamiha could now apply paralysis, hallucinations, or disorientation effects onto targets who touched her threads. The potency of these effects depended on how much chakra she infused, but even at a basic level, it was a terrifyingly effective tool for combat and subterfuge.

The final and most dangerous of Yamiha’s new abilities was the enhancement of her venom through chakra infusion.

With careful application of chakra into her venom gnds, Yamiha had managed to increase the potency of her natural toxins, creating a variety of different venom strains. Hiro had begun collecting small samples, and with Kaya’s assistance, Kaya had secretly passed them along to Serena for analysis. Kaya had helped cover up the true origins of the venom, crafting a believable story for why they had samples to begin with.

The results had been unexpected—Yamiha was capable of producing different venom types depending on how she infused her chakra. Some could induce temporary paralysis, others heightened drowsiness, and a particurly concerning strain caused muscle spasms and nausea.

At first, the increased supply of venom drew no suspicion, but as Serena continued selling the samples, it wasn’t long before Konoha’s authorities began asking questions. A sudden influx of rare and potent venoms wasn’t something that went unnoticed in a vilge preparing for war. One day, a shinobi came to question Serena directly, asking about her supplier.

Thinking quickly, she crafted a story about a traveling merchant who had passed through with a limited supply, selling her what she thought would be useful ingredients. Though skeptical, the shinobi accepted the expnation and left. After that, Kaya and Serena agreed to limit the venom sales, keeping Yamiha’s abilities a secret for now.

Despite the close call, Hiro couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of accomplishment.

Both of his summons had reached a new level of strength, and their synergy in battle had improved tenfold. Chūta dominated the skies with precise movement and sharp wind attacks, while Yamiha controlled the ground with her near-indestructible webs and debilitating toxins.
