As Percy and Jack rested and recovered their energy, Madame Vostik returned with lunch. "You two need to eat; this will help you center. After that, we will do it again except with six of them." She said with worry on her face and fear in her heart.
Jack stood up and said, “Are you out of your mind, we only had one and it took everything we had to get it back in the box.”
“Yes Jack I am out of my mind most days, but I am very clear on what I am doing this day. I will show you a new technique that will assist you.” She said.
Jack, standing at the door to the barn shaking his head in disbelief. “Madame I do not mean to be rude, however this is getting out of control. I am sure it will take longer to get where we need to be than just a few days.” He said.
“Jack if you can’t think quickly and focus or be pushed past your limits and still function you will be killed by these things, remember these are the baby ones, what you will come into contact with later will be so much stronger you will not win.”
“Then why are we doing this if we cannot win, I am sure there are better things I can do while the world burns around me.” He said.
“Jack is right Madame how are we to do this if there is not a good outcome or victory.” She said.

“I said they are much stronger than you two even together, but they are also not fast of thought or reason. I will show you how to trap them with special seals, ones you can make ahead of time and use without them knowing what is happening.” Madame said, pausing and she explained further.
“Percy you have an incredible ability to command and manipulate them into where you want them to be, use that to push them into these traps. Jack you have the power of many ancestors behind you bring them up in your mind and talk to them as if they were still here, direct them to what you need them to do. Both of you have gifts that I have never seen in anyone. I do not know how far you can push these skills, but we need to know beforehand. Before it becomes lethal, practice before you get fucked up, and maybe we will all live through this encounter.” She said smiling.
“But Madame” Percy said, “What happens if we start to lose control what is the backup plan?” She said.
“I do not know sweet girl maybe Father Murray has plans for that.” She said.
“Where is Father Murray anyway he has a bad habit of taking off right when all the questions are being asked.” He said.
“Jack, I will not tolerate your attitude when it comes to Nicholas, he is a good man and will give all he has to anyone in need, if you have a problem with him, me or this situation then feel free to leave. No one is forcing you to stay, your fears and insecurities might drive you off but only your true will can keep you here.” She said crossing her arms.
“Percy let's get started, Jack it has been a pleasure to meet you take care of yourself.” Jack looks at Madame Vostik angry and embarrassed,
“Jack” Percy exclaimed “Please won’t you try again, please I can’t do this on my own,” as she looked at him with fear, innocence, and promise of what could be.
“Fine I will stay!", he said "But I need to know what to do before you send those assholes out and let them run amuck again.”
