Dead man tells no secrets.

“You will learn plenty more if you practise.” Fausto then flew along with her as it urged him to join in on the fun. However after a few minutes of flying, Karma realised something….

“Wait. But how do I get back, I wonder?” Karma said as she was rather confused about it. She looked around as if it were empty space. There wasn’t a single entrance, nor was there a gate. How was she able to get out? Karma was really in panic, thinking she was forever stuck in a black hole. Fausto grabbed a hold of Karma’s head to calm her down.

“That is easy, just visualize where you were or just think about a door.” Fausto did that, and a door appeared. “Now you try.”

“Okay?” She then visualises the room full of dead people. In that instant, she created hers as well. “Amazing!!” She then pulled her hand out, and it did feel like she was somewhere else. Moving her head back and forth she was having fun with it poking her head out back and forth like a mole. For some reason, Fausto was urging himself to not whack the head.

“Now let's get out of here.” Fausto then got her out as she was still playing. It was really like a parent telling the kid to get out of the sandbox.

“Why? I was still having fun?”

“Because I have to warn you.”

“Warn me?” Karma was wondering what was wrong with the shadow. It was really useful as it could be a great way to hide, and especially fun for when you want to take a break from others. Karma was thinking of all sorts of playful things she could try to do with this shadow. However, the fun thinking was easily destroyed by the dangers it holds.

  “You see the shadow?”

  “Yes…”

“It is an infinite space for us however, you must remember that it only works when a shadow is present.”

“What do you mean?” Karma was still confused as there was a lot to take in. But Fausto was rather enjoying it, as this was the first time he had such a student. So might as well let her be stupid about it. He then closes the lights. “Ahhh!” Karma immediately ran to Fausto in fright as she wasn’t used to being in a dark room full of dead people. But then again, that goes for most people.

“Relax, you are fine. Actually since you are blessed with the shadows, you should be able to look in the shadows.”

“Really.” Karma then focused her eyes, and though it never happened before when she looked in the dark for some reason. Things were starting to get clearer, even compared to when there was light. “Everything is so clear, Fausto everything….” Karma then looked away as she realised that she was looking very close to Fausto. It was as though they were kissing.

“Well, on to the next lesson.” Unfortunately, he was so oblivious that it was hopeless for him to notice the event. “Let's go into the shadow.” In that instant, both of them went into the shadows. Karma looked around, and it was the same as before.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“What's so different about it?” But Fausto smiles as he then explains. He really doesn't know why, but teaching does really have to be enjoyable. But still she is really clingy, he pondered.

“Focus your mind and let the information of the shadow come to you.” She didn’t know what he meant but as time progressed. There was like a 3 dimensional feeling in the entire room. As though every part, even some gaps formed around the dead bodies were being imagined in her head. She wishes that part of the dead bodies were kept out as she got a 3d image of those as well. It was rather unfortunate for her that she wished she could get rid of those images. But at least she got it. “Now imagine going to a different part of the room.” Karma didn’t know why but she followed his instructions to the letter.

“I don’t see what it will do but..” Just as she said that she realised she was back out and at a different position. Not only that she then senses someone behind her.

“Impressive you can even sense my presence. You are advancing quite nicely.” Fausto said proudly. But this confused Karma.

“This is amazing so I can teleport anywhere I want.”

“As long as the shadow is connected to it, yes. However..” Fausto then turned on the lights. At that moment, Karma soon felt like she lost some of her ability as she couldn’t move freely for some reason. It was as if she was limited. “If light is present, it cuts where you want to go. This prevents you from being able to move. If you are in a shadow and light suddenly appears, you will be forced back out of the shadow.”

  “Why?”

“Because like the shadow, you only exist within darkness.” Hearing that Karma was scared about using the ability. Though it has great benefits, it still has its flaws.

  “That means….”

“Yes, which is why it is important to know, because you need to remember to use your ability at night and in a place with large amounts of darkness. That way, you have more chances of escaping.” Fausto warned. “If you try to do it during the day, it could be problematic. Especially when you are being hunted by Diviners.” Karma was nodding, realising it was no fun in games when it came to this power. Especially against Diviners, which then got her curious.

“Wait, they hate us. Why?” Karma first never heard of shadow dwellers before for obvious reasons but still didn’t know why diviners would hate shadow dwellers when they could easily defeat them.

“It's because we are direct opposites of them. Also, it goes against their faith. So if they find one, they usually will kill them.”

“I see….that is problematic.” Karma said as she just realised she was entering an underworld that she never knew. Fausto then patted her head.

“Don’t worry, since that is the case I will protect you.” Hearing that Karma was feeling happy as she felt like her worries were lifted. “Remember not to use your abilities openly and only when I approve. Got it.”

  “Yes!!!”

“Good...now you can go.” Fausto immediately went back into working mode as he was now looking at the tablet. Karma was puzzled as he went from being really caring to cold hearted very fast.

“But aren’t you going to teach me more?”

“No, I want to make sure you get this down. After that, we can continue.” Fausto was now acting like the emotionless doctor like before. Karma then sighed…..

“I wish you were more emotional,” Karma whispered.

  “You said something??” Fausto said.

“No!! I will be going to sleep now. I’m so tired…Yawn…” Karma then decided to leave the room. Hearing the door shut, Faust, who was on the sidelines, finally said something.

“Why didn’t you teach her about that?” Fausto then stopped as he looked around. Making sure the coast was really clear, he then took a deep breath before then doing something he usually prefers no one knowing about. He suddenly had blood running down his lips as he could no longer hide the damage to his body.

“Because that is a realm that even I regret crossing,” Fausto said as he then stretched out his hand. At first, nothing happened, but the shadow was pouring from all the dead bodies as they were now slowly flowing towards Fausto's hands. Forming into an orb, Fausto then let it enter his body. “Haa….” Just like that for some reason, he felt like his body was refreshed. His face that was starting to go pale grew in colour as he wiped the blood, showing he had restored his health. “Leonora really did take a toll on me. Thankfully all these dead bodies were able to compensate for that.”

“Then you should probably tell Karma. Because you should know that shadow dwellers' have other drawbacks.” Faust mentioned. But Fausto didn’t worry about that.

“Unfortunately unlike us...she is going to last far longer than any normal ones.” Fausto then left the room. He was cold hearted so she could leave letting him do what he pleased afterwards. He just said that to get it over with as he finally was able to relax. “The best person is a dead person after all.”
