“If all of you truly have a problem with my capabilities, we could settle things here right now.” He dryly said. “To make it simple, all of you may gang up on me at once.”
Is that really smart? That’s a massive number disadvantage.
“You can’t be serious, dude.” Trener said, looking quite concerned.
“Sounds great, actually.” Histon meanwhile seems rather confident with the odds being in his favor. Why are you even picking a fight with a teacher…
Well, it feels a bit odd to call him that. He only looks a few years older than us. He does give off a mature vibe, but definitely not middle-aged vibe, if that makes any sense.
Then again having an old dude as a P.E. teacher seems rather counterintuitive, so maybe I just need to stop with that line of thinking.
“If anyone wants to opt out, you may do so.” He said, keeping his cool despite the beatdown he might get. ‘Might’ since I doubt he’ll offer that chance if he doesn't think he can win, so he probably has some chance at least.
Now what should I do… I guess I’ll sit this one out.
“Let’s go sit on the bench, Glery.” I dragged her to the bleachers and sat at the top to get a good view. Trener and the others are rather perplexed at my decision it seems. I guess it’s kinda weird that I’m the one to pull a smart move first.
“Well? Who else?” He asked, his tone unchanging.
“I’ll do the same.” Then the resident quiet guy also followed us.
“Then I’ll assume the rest of you will follow through?” He asked, while everyone else looked quite puzzled as to why he even went through with this.
A guy who seems to be in his early twenties with rather pin clothing outside of his minty puffy short jacket. It definitely doesn’t scream athletic. He is a tall guy and decently muscur, but not overt enough to make it seem like he’s a dedicated bodybuilder or a professional athlete. Also, that golden neckce of his really stood out.
“It’ll end in seconds anyway.” Histon said with a smirk. Do you really have to sound like a third-rate vilin? I know the guy doesn’t seem to care either way, but that doesn’t mean you get to act like that.
“Very well then.” He said before pressing a few buttons on the tablet.
*Throw*
He then suddenly threw it into the air. Isn’t that supposed to be important!?
*Shine*
Suddenly a barrier forms around the area the two sides are in, and the tablet is covered in a sphere of light, floating in the air and out of reach.
And suddenly a… I think it’s called a bamboo sword or something. It’s a training weapon in Japan, that’s all I know. A bamboo sword suddenly appeared in the guy’s hand from nowhere.
“Now then. Let’s begin.” He said with an unchanging expression.
*Swing* *WHIRL*
It was as sudden as a lightning strike. A simple swing of his sword and suddenly what seems to be a hurricane manifested and blew everyone away.
*Crash* *Thud*
All of them fall to the ground or crash into the barrier with no chance to react. The cries of pain echoing through the rge room.
“...I believe it is my victory.” He said without a hint of satisfaction in his tone.
*Leap*
He leaped up into the air and grabbed the tablet, then used it to dispel the walls surrounding him and the other students.
Just what the hell was that? It wasn’t even really a fight, if you think about it. It’s more akin to someone swatting a fly annoying you, or squishing an ant trying to get on your food.
There were no signs of exhaustion on him at all despite that devastating attack, so it seems like that was a very basic attack as far as he’s concerned.
“...Terrifying.” Kroin muttered, breaking the silence. It is quite shocking, and I don’t think a guy who doesn’t get into a tussle often like him will be able to stomach it well.
I’m honestly more concerned with the guys and gals down there. Are they alright?
“You three may come down now.” He nonchantly said like we didn’t see him just humiliate a bunch of students by making them look like paper scraps blown away by the wind.
Of course, no sane person is gonna try to pick a fight with a guy like that, so it’s best we comply, even if he has no reason to try anything else. Not like us three provoked him in any way… Okay, I was judging his appearance, but that was just an observation! I wasn’t shit talking the guy!
“...So what now?” Words came out of my mouth without really thinking. At least it’s a simple question. I wasn’t provoking him.
“At this point and time, I am supposed to begin lecturing to all of you about how to use the various facilities reted to combat-training. Unfortunately, most of your cssmates chose to compin instead of going along with it.” He expined. I can’t imagine him not being able to afford to dey that just because some people were being rowdy. “Admittedly, we were all supposed to test you in combat at some point, so this isn’t exactly unwarranted. However, I need to make a point to you all to not make a fuss when you are blind to what your opponent is capable of. If it was simply a sparring match, I would’ve held back a lot more.”
A lot more!? Just how much strength is this guy hiding!?

*BOOM*
“*Cough* *Cough*” I coughed from all the smoke caused by the explosion. It completely obscures our figures, causing visual clutter that means that we can’t perceive each other with sights alone. That magic csh took a lot out of me, but for her it’s no doubt a drop in the water.
And that’s really bad for our side. We might be able to sense energy, but when our opponent has the ability to conceal her own, that is no longer an option.
“[Storm]!” Kenni yelled out as a strong wind blew away all the smoke in the area before it could cause us some serious issues.
“Aren’t you quick to act?” She said with a subtle smirk as the dust clears.
She doesn’t look like she has even taken even a little bit of damage. Not even a small bruise or cut.
“This bitch sure is tough.” Emmie said with a grin on her face. She really isn’t intimidated despite the fact that everyone else is down for the count except us three.
…Though I guess it’s better to say that one person opted out while the rest never had a chance.
Still, this is a bad matchup in a lot of ways. I still remember that spike in power she demonstrated a few months back. It was like having a knife on your throat, basically touching your skin and she could’ve cut it like cake whenever she wants.
This power she’s showing is but a small fraction. She has been using nothing but simple magic bsts and straight-forward swordpy. No esoteric elemental magic, no special abilities, just sheer power.
I heard something from the juniors that yesterday they got into a fight with their P.E. teacher that did not end well, it was only a second, practically speaking. Hopefully our result will be a lot more dignified than that.
“Well? Aren’t you three supposed to be strategizing and come up with a complex pn to beat me? Why don’t you put those brains to work?” She mockingly said as she rested the wooden katana on her shoulder.
“Emmie, I need you to distract her while-
“Got it!” She didn’t even listen to the whole thing before rushing in immediately.
*Csh* *Parry*
The giant scythe cshes against the dull wooden bde, yet the comparatively small weapon holds up. It’s pretty clear Rico is entertaining her more than anything, as she swiftly counters anything coming her way, yet remains on the defensive.
“Kenni, the two of us need to use our strongest spells. Once Emmie got hit away, unch it right at her.” The pn is pretty simple, and it really only works because she’s toying with us.
“...So what sorts of spell do you-
“Just any will do, just prepare it quickly.” We don’t really have the time to contempte on our options here.
“[Vacuum Ssh]!” Emmie yelled out as she swung her scythe and a rift of darkness appeared where she strikes.
*Swoop* *Ssh*
Rico, who dodged the initial ssh without issue, was sucked in by the short-lived rift and lost her footing, allowing Emmie to get one good hit in.
This should be as good a time as any to unch a spell of my own!
“[Shine Burst]!” I yelled out as I unched a massive energy attack right towards the staggered woman.
*BOOM*
“[Wind Force Cannon]!” Kenni yelled out.
*Whirl* *Burst*
A powerful torrent of wind was sent towards her as well, a strong enough force to shred through vehicles with ease.
…Wait, did Emmie manage to avoid the two attacks in time? I was caught up in the opportunity to notice.
*Throw* *Crash*
“Gah!” I screamed out as something was thrown right at me…
“Well ain’t that embarrassing.” Kenni snarked at my misfortune, and by that point she already dispelled her magic… Oh. It’s Emmie that was thrown at me.
“Bastard…” Emmie muttered under her breath as I got back up and moved her away, seeing bruises and burns on her body. Guess she actually got hit by the crossfire. Sorry about that, I was really in the moment.
“Can’t say letting your companion be a sacrificial mb is the most noble way to go about it.” Rico said as she looked at me with… rather scary eyes. It’s not like her expression is particurly intimidating, but something about it feels off.
Speaking of Rico. She looks as pristine as she was a few seconds back. So none of that did any damage to her at all.
*Thud*
My knees gave out. After all that I don’t even have the energy to stand anymore.
“Welp. My chances ain’t looking so hot.” Kenni said, keeping up her usual tone, but with a sense of hopelessness in it. “So… What’s the chance you end the fight right here? It’s not like you’re meant to beat us all to a pulp.”
“You’re certainly not wrong.” Rico said with a smile. “I guess I can end that here, if you lose the will to fight.”
The tablet then fell back into her hand, and the barrier keeping us all trapped in here dissipated, and a warm light filled the area, a sense of relief washing over everyone.
Everyone starts getting back up with a groan or a stretch, all looking at the senior who seems to have zero remorse at the spectacle she created.
It started with her striking down anyone that gets near with that wooden katana, and then started sending out small explosive spells that wore us down, and then the final stretch with a good string of attacks that also did nothing. It’s rather unsatisfying, but that is probably the main point of it all. The st thing the school wants is for their students to feel overconfident and start walking around like they own the pce just because of the power bestowed upon them. Everyone has that, and some will completely crush you, so you need to be humbled.
I do think it could be done more gently, and I don’t think our css has that kind of issue going around, but I feel like trying to argue otherwise is a losing battle, especially since the establishment phase is already over.
“Alright then. I think you guys did pretty well.” Rico said with a few cps. “Go take a break, I’m sure you’re all raring for a nap, even.”
If this is just the first phase of the new ‘subject’ so to speak, what else could there be in store?
