  <2: 44 pm>

  “You know, you look like someone who has a lot on their mind right now.” Kenni remarked as we rested on the benches. “Anything happened recently? Did you and Wiina already break up?”

  “Where the fuck did you get that idea from!?” We haven’t been doing anything! No dating, no nothing! Where did she get that idea from!?

  “Whoa, chilx.” She said with a grin. “So what’s the crisis?”

  “...I was talking to Jass yesterday, and suddenly it turned out to be a fox girl casting a disguise spell over herself.” That’s the best way to describe what just happened.

  “The hell? Seriously?” She seems to find that hard to believe. “That’s kinda out there, but is it really that arming? You think she’s going around disguised as other people?”

  “It’s not that…” I didn’t even think about that, to be honest. “I didn’t figure out she was disguising herself because she said something Jass wouldn’t, but because I noticed a spell covering her.”

  “...Oh.” She quickly realized what I am getting at. “So you think it actually was Jass or…”

  “I don’t know!” I said, letting out my frustration. “I didn’t actually talk with Jass after that. I’m more confused than anything.”

  “Huh… Well why don’t you go talk to him about it? Is it really good to be so uncertain?” Kenni advised.

  “...I guess not.” I said before getting back up.

  “Are you going straight for the source?” She asked.

  “Obviously. I got a few things going on already. I should nip this problem in the bud.” I said, feeling a bit better to have someone to tell this to. I know where Jass lives, so it wouldn’t take long to figure out what’s going on.

  <3: 21 pm>

  *Crumble*

  “...You gotta be kidding me.” I mumbled under my breath as this hulking beast walked out of the rubbles unscathed.

  “RRRAAAHH!!!” He screamed out loudly, and everyone began running for their lives. Just my luck that I have to run into this guy again!

  “[Fire Wall]!” Suddenly I can hear Karra’s voice chanting out a spell.

  *Sizz*

  A rge wall of fmes suddenly appeared and surrounded the giant man and kept him contained.

  “Jeff, get the hell out of here!” Karra’s figure gets into my view as she has a serious look on her face. “Last thing I want is for you to be put in the hospital again.”

  “A-Are you crazy? Don’t you need a little help?” I asked, feeling like I should-

  “I said get the hell out!” She remained adamant.

  “Ugh, fine!” I reluctantly comply before running away, but I can’t help but still be worried.

  Despite the fact that I should’ve gotten the hell out of dodge. I want to at least observe the fight and be on standby in case she does go down. I mean. It seems very likely, just look at this juggernaut! I don’t even know how she fights this guy to a standstill by herself.

  *Dash* *Evade*

  The first thing I see to start the fight off is the giant man running out of the fire and right towards Karra, who dodged the punch aiming right at her head.

  *Leap*

  “[Thunder Rain]!” Karra shouted as she jumped into the air and away from the guy.

  *Zap*

  She manifested a bunch of lightning bolts raining down at the giant, which seems to only discomfort the guy considering he’s not screaming or anything. He’s flinching, but that’s about it.

  “RAAAAHH!!!” He screamed out loudly and broke her concentration with that alone.

  *Shine*

  “[Great Shine Attack]!” She shouted and aimed some sort of energy attack right at the big brute.

  *Boom*

  A massive explosion consumed the street and left me unable to really see anything. That looks extremely deadly I gotta say!

  <3: 27 pm>

  “Monster…” I can’t help but say as this brute walked out of the smoke. I didn’t pull any punches with that and he just tanked it.

  I can see a drop in power, but considering how strong of an attack that was, it’s not something I can keep pulling off.

  Dammit, why does he have to appear now? I’m nowhere near 100%, so a dub is definitely not in the cards. Do I just stall for time then?

  *Leap* *Evade* *Smash*

  I got out of the way as he jumped towards me with a fist formed, and the aftermath is a rge crack in the road where his fist meets the ground. That can seriously turn bones into paste!

  *Swing*

  “[Freeze]!” I shouted as I aimed my ice magic at the arm swung right towards me.

  “ARGH!” He shouted in pain and surprise as his arm was suddenly encased in ice.

  *Shatter*

  Unfortunately he quickly shakes it off by smashing his arm against the ground. That spell didn’t even come close to giving him frostbite, but it does distract him for enough time!

  “[Dome | Reinforcement]!” I quickly cast a spell to cover him in a dome made of rock, encasing him inside and of course making sure it is well-maintained, pouring my mana into it and strengthening it to be so tough he can’t just smash out in a few hits.

  I can feel some resistance, but I’m not going to let him leave so easily! I’ll make sure he puts in so much effort he tires himself out by the end.

  Compared to my stamina and general fatigue from training, my mana pool is in a better shape, so focusing on wearing him down with spells instead of general stalling is for the best.

  Now then, let’s follow up with this!

  *Shatter* *Crumble*

  He soon escapes the dome I set up and is running towards me, but let’s see how well he’ll escape this!

  “[Ice Prison]!” I shouted as I threw the concentrated mana at him.

  *Crackle*

  Quickly he was suspended in a giant gcier completely encasing him. He can barely move in this kind of state, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he still gets out one way or-

  *Wee-woo* *Wee-woo*

  Oh! Looks like the police are here, guess that’s my cue to run and let him deal with this on his own.

  *Leap*

  I jumped onto the roof of a pretty tall building just to catch my breath and watch the scene unfold. I at least want to see the guy get apprehended in real time. Give me some catharsis here!

  The cops all surround the ice prison with the guy still inside, struggling to get out. They all are obviously confused as to what’s happening, but they should at least be grateful that their job is a bit easier now that he has been immobilized. I doubt he can muster much strength with all the ice surrounding him. It’s probably zapping his strength rapidly at least, and even if he managed to break free he’d be very winded at minimum.

  *Crack*

  Oh dear, that was faster than I thought…

  “RAAAAH!!!” He screamed out very loudly and for whatever reason his power output is even higher!? How!?

  *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

  A bunch of gunshots can be heard and yet this guy is running circles around them! In fact I’m pretty certain some of them do hit and yet no damage to be seen! How is he now so strong even bullets can’t do anything?

  *Smash* *Punch* *Throw*

  He’s pying with them like they’re cheap toys! This ain’t good!

  *Sparkle*

  “[Thunder Cannon]!” I aimed the spell from the rooftop.

  *Zap*

  Bsting him with a burst of electricity to slow him down, and yet his power only seems to rise! What is this guy’s problem? Why is this happening? Spells of simir caliber worked on him just a minute ago!

  *Throw* *Evade*

  “Shit!” He threw debris at me once he noticed where I was hiding. Those are enough to avoid. I’m more concerned that he’s going to cause a lot more colteral damage if I remain up here.

  I guess I have to jump back down and deal with the guy.

  …I don’t really want to use this, but with a lot of my mana reserve already gone, this is the best thing going for me.

  “[Overclock]!” I shouted as I could feel the energy pouring into my body, reinforcing it more and more as well as making my body feel stiff and strained…

  *Dash* *Punch*

  <3: 43 pm>

  “Whoa!” I can help but said in surprise. It looks like she was trying really hard to avoid having any physical contact with the guy, but here she is punching the guy in the gut! Why was she so worried before then?

  They’re starting to csh with their fists and fight melee. It’s looking pretty damn close!

  <3: 48 pm>

  *Punch* *Kick* *Crash*

  I followed it up with another punch before kicking him into the colpsed building.

  …My body is burning, it’s starting to get numb… I’m pretty sure this isn’t even five minutes in and the effect is getting to me. Trying to overclock your body with mana might greatly enhance your physical strength, but it’s basically like using drugs, it’s destroying my body.

  **Dash** **Strike**

  “Ugh!” He quickly recovered and both of us ran into each other and cshed fists.

  *Duck* *Kick*

  Instead of letting the struggle continue, I let go and ducked under his attack before kicking his arm away and getting up-close while he was still staggered.

  *Punch* *Leap*

  I then do another punch in the gut before jumping away so I can have some roo-!?

  “Augh!” Am I at my limit already!? “Ough! *Cough*”

  …I’m actually coughing up blood. He’s nowhere near finished, how am I going to continue like this? My arms and legs are failing me, I can’t actually move anymore.

  If I was at 100%, maybe I wouldn’t have tried to force the fight to end so quickly that I would have burned myself out before he did.

  “DIE!” Heh, that’s the first actual word I heard this guy said and it’s that? This is definitely not good, he definitely holds a grudge.

  *Dash*

  I close my eyes, trying to brace for what comes next.

  …

  …Nothing?

  “You fought well.” Wiina’s voice rings in my ears.

  When I opened my eyes, I saw her figure standing here, holding back a punch from the giant rampaging beast with one hand.

  She briefly looks at me before changing her focus to the rampaging man.

  *Flick* *Crash*

  With what seems like just a flick from her free hand, the man is sent flying many feet back, crashing and rolling down the ruined road.

  “Sit back and rex. You’re safe now.” She said with a small reassuring smile on her face as she looked at me one more time.

  “RAAAAH!!!” Meanwhile the monster quickly stood back up and ran towards Wiina.

  *Dash* *Punch*

  Unlike my attempts at fighting this thing with my arms and legs, just one single strike alone was enough to show the difference in strength.

  His form quickly crumbled, legs shaking and expression filled with pain. While my own attacks merely cause him temporary discomfort, hers completely overwhelm him with pain.

  *Kick* *Crash*

  Then with a straight kick towards his chest, he was sent flying up high and crashed down onto the pavement.

  He still gets up from that, but he’s visibly shaking and starting to hesitate. His behavior quickly changed just from two clean strikes.

  “...[Sky Judgement]” She calmly chanted with a finger pointed at the man slowly comprehending what he’s up against.

  *ZAP*

  A massive thunder was summoned from high up in the clouds, striking true and quickly charred his body. The level of power from it that I can feel is completely out of my reach. I can’t comprehend it, to be honest,

  *Thud*

  With that, the rampaging berserker completely stopped moving, lying there on the ground motionless.

  …Nothing but silence as she lowered her arm and turned her back on the victim of her power.

  “Let’s get you out of here.” She said as she carried me in the same way as she did the st time.

  “Yes… Let’s…” Like st time, I barely have any energy left, but this is far worse than st time…

  “Hang in there, alright?” She sweetly said to me.

  “Yeah… I will.” I said, despite struggling to even mutter a single word.

  *Fly*

  She then started flying off with me in her arms. Going to who knows where…

  “Here we are. Right at home.” She said as my vision is starting to get blurry. We seem to be in front of a house, but I can’t really make out the details.

  She carried me indoors and up the steps, getting me into a room on what I think is the second floor.

  Whose house is this? Is this actually hers?

  “Let’s get you on the bed. Just rex…” She said as she put me on the bed… The interior of this room feels a bit familiar. I’ve seen it, but I’ve never been…

  *Glow*

  A pleasant wave of light covered my body as she put one hand on my chest. I can barely cling on to consciousness at this point… but still… I can’t help but have my eyes opened, even just a little bit, when I am seeing this strange scene in front of me.

  …I don’t know if it’s an illusion or my own hallucinations. But the woman in front of me started shifting in appearance multiple times. One moment, I saw Wiina, another, the fox girl from yesterday, and yet in another instance, I saw Jass…

  “Shhh…” She put a finger on her lips in acknowledgement…

  …I guess…

  …That’s all… I needed to know…
