Chapter 83: Parallel Run

  ———Wiina———

  <2: 39 pm>

“Hmm… Ah. I see…” She mumbled to herself as she stared at me. Those eyes gring at me really betrayed the beautiful pink hue of it that might’ve implied serenity and benevolence otherwise. “Well, how you chose to allocate your strength is none of my concern, but should you really be at anything less than a hundred percent in front of someone you are apprehensive about?”

“Knock it off. It’s not as if we’re enemies.” I said as the other two stared at us. Why are you acting so suspiciously? “Anyway, now that the transaction is done, now what?”

“Just as my boss said. I’ll accompany you to the dungeon and make sure no funny business is happening.” She casually said.

“...Aren’t you one of the top offi- Oh one of your bodies is permanently here isn’t it.” I was about to ask a question that I could’ve easily figured out.

“Yep. Now let’s get going. Karra Lein and Kenni Krale, was it?” She said while walking over to greet the two. She extended her hand, showing some courtesy. “Nice to meet you two.”

“Y-Yeah, likewise.” Karra seems unsure of how to react, so she simply shakes her hand and does not think further on it, then walks back over to me.

“Same here.” Kenni said, sounding a bit more apprehensive as she shook her hand.

“Alright then, follow me. It’s a bit of a rough walk through the forest.” She said before leading us away from the mansion and making our way to the nearby forest.

“Who the heck is that?” Kenni asked as we followed her towards the dungeon. I’m not really sure talking behind her back is the best idea, but I doubt she’ll care that much.

“An angel.” I said without eboration. It’s what she called herself, and I’d rather not try to expin something I don’t have much clue on.

“Seriously?” Kenni is obviously rather skeptical of that sort of cim. Of course, from how she worded it, it’s not what we all probably thought, but that is also a mystery I doubt she’ll eborate on.

“Is she that strong?” Karra suddenly asked as we continued navigating the forest. Guess she is a bit worried by how on-guard I am.

“Don’t worry about it.” I said, trying to sound the most dismissive I can be. The fact of the matter is that we’re not enemies, and that kind of talk isn’t that important, especially right now.

“Gossip all you want, just make sure not to cause a massive commotion around here.” She casually said, clearly picking up on the few words that were said. Karra’s face stiffened up from the response while Kenni simply shrugged.

Looks like the dungeon is pretty deep inside the forest here. That does help expin why only the people here even know it’s there.

As for the other side, onto floor fifteen with no problem at all, the two siblings are still tense around each other, but they’re given more chance at dialogue here than ever, so it should resolve itself soon enough.

“Well if she doesn't mind I’m just gonna ask straight up. How are you in comparison to her right now?” Kenni doesn’t seem to care about being tactful at this moment as asked anyway. It’s not like I don’t have an answer to that, but it just feels odd to say it out loud.

“At this moment, from what I managed to analyze, her power right now is actually a bit lower than mine. It’s not significant enough for me to outmatch her though, and she probably has a lot of techniques to pull out whenever.” More importantly, she could easily split herselves into multiple copies. I don’t know the exact limitations on it, if there is even any, but unlike my own way of doing it, which does reduce my power with each copy, therefore necessitating allocating each body with a portion of my power, each one of hers is at full strength. And like myself, she can definitely control them simultaneously.

Unfortunately, despite scanning the area thoroughly, I cannot sense any spare bodies around here. Either she hasn’t actually deployed them, or more likely, each body is either in stasis or suppressing their power. In the first pce, I can barely tell how much power she even had, I can only intuitively tell that she’s on my level.

“Don’t you have a lot of hax of your own? Surely it’s an even match.” Kenni said even though my tone makes it clear that’s not gonna be the case. She’s screwing around more than anything.

“Alright, dies. We’re here.” Mori said as we stopped at a pretty normal-looking cave entrance. Obviously, it’s hard to distinguish a normal cave and an actual dungeon at a gnce, but if you have the ability to read mana in the atmosphere, the fluctuation of it around the entrance is very apparent. Since it leads into a new realm entirely, therefore breaking the natural w, there is a disturbance that could be felt, and this pce definitely has that feeling in the air.

“Somehow, this looks even more mundane than most entrances.” Kenni remarked as she got a good look at it. You could easily mistook it for a weird shallow hole in the ground instead of an entrance to a byrinth of monsters.

“All the better. This is our exclusive dungeon that no one else knows about. As you already know, this is an extremely high level dungeon. All of our combat members can handle it and can clear at least ten floors, and there is valuable loot inside. This time around we’re basically just doing a tour, afterward you can come here at your leisure, just make sure to not share the loot with anyone aside from our organization.” Mori said, having quite a long expnation. “Well then, let’s not waste any time and go in. You two, make sure to not fall behind.”

  *Cnk*

“Argh! Just what the hell is this thing made out of!” I screamed out at this giant bnk doll that barely has any scratch on it.

  *Shine*

“[Reflect]!” Orrel screamed out as the eye embedded in its left hand lit up, staring right at me.

  *Bst* *Pwang*

Before I could even comprehend what’s happening, the beam of light didn’t hit me and instead bounced off and hit the wall instead.

  *Leap* *Shine*

“[Light Ssh: Burst]!” Jass screamed out as he jumped towards the giant figure.

  *Ssh* *Boom*

An intense pressure is felt as he swung his sword down towards the giant figure’s chest, and once the fshbang is over we can now see an exposed chest with what seems to be its core.

“Trener! Rousi! Give me the boost here!” Histon shouted out as I saw him gathering all the mana he had into his fist, the two he shouted at quickly rushed over.

  *Leap*

He jumped on top of the two’s hands and they used their strength to throw him towards the exposed weak point.

  *Punch* *Crack* *Shatter*

With one punch he managed to shatter the core. An impressive feat, but…

“Woah there.” Jass catched him on the way down, but his right arm is completely mangled. His expression conveyed all the pain he felt, barely suppressing his need to scream.

  *Crash* *Thud*

The boss fell down without its power source, crashing into the hard cold floor below, ending the encounter.

In terms of casualty, only the siblings are in any real danger, but Jass should be able to heal them back up.

  *Cw* *Rip* *Crush*

“Damn. No kidding that this pce is dangerous.” Kenni remarked after she managed to kill one of the cyclops, plunging into its chest and ripping its heart clean out, and even crushing it into paste for good measure. Her mana is at less than half with how much she needs to put in to weaken it enough for that to even work, and at most she probably can only spare enough energy to kill one more.

  *Ssh* *Sizz*

“Yeah… No kidding indeed…” Karra is also out of breath after taking down only one as well. Plunging her knife into the its leg and setting it abze, almost charring herself in the process. Neither of them looks like they have much energy left. Looks like I need to step in already. There are about twenty-two of them left, slowly walking over as if not recognizing the threat the two bystanders pose.

  *Ssh* *Slice* *Chop*

I turned the rest of the cyclops into nothing but minced meat, ending the battle quickly. No time to react, no time to defend. Just this thin sword and raw power is enough to get rid of them. Even so, it’s not like I used a lot of power anyway.

“Looks like those two still have a long way to go. We’re only on the second floor.” Mori remarked.

“Those things are as strong as a boss monster in our dungeon, and there are a crap ton of them!” Kenni pointed out. “How strong is your organization for this pce to be a training ground?”

“Plenty strong.” She nonchantly answered. I do think their force is more than enough to conquer the world at this point, if you disregard other ludicrously powerful factions or individuals hiding in the background. “Of course, we mainly just do wetwork and such, we barely made our presence known.”

“Should you really be saying that out loud?” Kenni pointed out.

“It doesn’t matter. Outside of Wiina here, neither of you pose a real threat.” She dismissively said. She basically just said she can easily silence them both. “And I doubt you want to cause something complicated like a battle against us. We gain nothing from antagonizing each other.”

“Indeed.” I replied. Can’t say I’m a big fan of their shady dealing, but I really do not like the possible consequence of us cshing. The fact that they haven’t made a big name for themselves before or after the Eclipse at least tells me they’re at least trying to keep it to themselves. Perhaps that’s just my wishful thinking.

  *Shine*

The loot dropped and there are four items. In the dungeon closest to us it usually only gave us one or two.

“All four are potions. That’s neat.” Mori said as she walked over and collected them. While I should probably be the one to get it, we already agree to hand over any loot from this introductory dungeon run. “How are you two doing? I assume you can at least move.”

“Yeah. We can still walk, or run if we really push it.” Kenni said with sarcasm dened in.

“Good, let’s go to the third floor. The two of us have plenty of stamina to go to… Maybe triple-digits floors. You two can sit back and rex if you want.” Mori said, sounding like she’s boasting. Of course, there is no falsehood in those words. The two of us need to spend barely even a percent to get rid of those giants in one fell swoop.

“Did we skip a few hundred chapters?” Kenni asked. That is quite an apt description. This pce is maybe a few arcs ahead of where they should be right now. Maybe in a year or two they can tackle this pce more comfortably, but right now they can only make a dent against the fighting force of each floor.

We all walked down to the third floor. There are a lot of knights in shining armor, but all are simply animated golems in the shape of knights. One in white and gold armor stood in the back of this unit over a hundred strong. This floor is massive, so there is a lot of room for them to move in and encircle us if need be.

“One of those knights is roughly sixty-percent in strength of the cyclops from the previous floor.” I break the bad news to the two. This is unfortunately not gonna work in their favors. Maybe they could use an AoE attack to wipe a few dozens, but that’s only if they aren’t at half their strength at the moment. Right now, individually, they can take on maybe one or two each before their stamina and mana run dry. Worse still, that special-looking golem is stronger than a cyclop.

I raise my hand towards them right before they take notice and start marching toward us.

  *Shine*

I erected a barrier to shield us from the aftermath of my next and only move.

“Bang.” That’s all that needed to be said.

  *BOOM*

One explosion ter, that was left were scraps of metal on the floor. The over hundred golems were destroyed alongside its commander. One fell swoop.
