“Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” I sarcastically said with both of us staring at each other with a sense of tension permeating through the air. It’s rather odd, we have no quarrels, but something about the scenario feels naturally tense.
“Guess we have the same pn today.” Emmie said, resting the scythe on her shoulder with a rather bloodthirsty-looking smile.
“Then let’s not waste any time then, unless you’re afraid.” I taunted her as I slowly moved towards the stairs to the second floor.
“Shouldn’t it be you who is fearful, jester.” She said while mirroring my movement. Are we turning this into a competition now?

*Cnk*
“Agh! Glery, backline support please!’ I said as I noticed that my axe isn’t doing the trick against this weird cube golem. How did Karra make it look so easy?
*Crackle*
“Raaah!!!” She screamed out as multiple bolts of lightning struck the boss golem, all unched from the mouth of the snakes in her hair, managing to stagger it for long enough for a follow-up attack!
“[Strong Swing]!” I shouted out as I jumped up and hit it with an attack further enhanced by more magical power than normal.
*Crack*
I managed to cause a rge crack in its body, but it is still functioning.
“Coming in hot!” Who the fu-
*Punch* *Crack* *Crumble*
What the hell!? Who just… Oh you gotta be kidding me! Why is she here!
“That was my kill!” Another person I didn't want to see shouted out as both of them ran to the sixth floor. What the hell are they doing!?
…Both of them didn’t even give us so much as a gnce before they kept going. Just what the hell is with that disrespect!?
“Those bitches…” I said out loud, trying not to shout. We were so close to killing it too!
I look down in frustration and see a bck feather…
*Stomp*
“Ugh. What a pain in the ass.” I said as I grinded the feather against my shoe, feeling more and more bitter.
“H-Hey. At least they didn’t steal our loot…” Glery said, trying to be more positive.
“Yeah, I guess.” I replied, even though it seems like that’s only the case because they were in a competition and doing all this for shits and giggles. “Let’s gather the stuff and get out. We’ll just get in their way if we somehow catch up.”
She silently nodded and we started gathering the shattered cores and the rewards that spawned in. With the two of us here it shouldn’t take that long.
“Would be nice if there’s another dungeon nearby, just so we aren’t all crammed into one pce.” I can’t help but say, even if it also means taking up more space and being a bit of an eyesore to look at. They don’t really blend in well with the towns and cities. At least this one protrudes out in an abandoned park that was quarantined due to… stuff happening to it. It’s a long story.
“Would that even happen again?” Glery asked, being rather skeptical that such an event could happen ever again.
“The best we can hope for is another eclipse.” I said despite not being sure if it even had anything to do with what happens. Like, was it just a good time to do it or what? “We still don’t actually know why it happens. We probably never will.”
“It’s the source of everything, and yet…” She trailed off as she collected the st of the golem remains. “Looks like we got everything. Should we leave now?”
“Of course. Let’s get our chump change and go find a pce to eat. Could use a nice meal.” If your mood is bad then eating usually fixes it. Delicious food can solve a lot of problems.
Both of us grabbed our bags full of material and made our way back to the surface. Let’s not think about those two any further and take the rest of the day off.

<1: 14 pm>
“It’s been quite a while since I made a stream like this.” I said to chat as I walked along the main street. It’s still the weekdays and many are busy at work instead of roaming around randomly like I am.
{It’s scenic if nothing else}
{So are you just gonna rex and talk?}
{Got some stories to tell?}
“I wouldn’t call this stream a storytelling livestream. I’m just showing off the angles this tech can give me.” I said while the camera moved from the side to above then below, moving around me and letting people see me from multiple angles. It then ended up holding the camera low and pointing up, with the chat mainly seeing my chin more than anything. “How does this view look?”
{Uhhhhh}
{It’s a no from me}
Obviously that’s a shitty angle. I’m just messing with them. Let’s put it back to a little above my head and pointing at me from the side.
“That should be a little better. I still think we could use more height.” I said before looking for a good roof to jump to. Would anyone compin if I jumped up there? Maybe if they’re using the rooftop for something, let's look for one that seems empty… There.
*Leap*
“This will get a nice view of the small town.” I said while the arm slowly panned the camera around to see the town better overall. It doesn’t consist of many rge buildings, very few are more than three stories tall.
{It’s not exactly rural tho}
{She never said that dumbass}
“It’s nice not having to use my actual arms to hold the camera. Completely hands free.” I said while showing myself holding my arms up. “I can sit here and rex without anyone bothering me. Any of you in the chat got something to ask? Now is as good of a time as any.”
{So how much do you get from going into the dungeon?}
“How much do I get from a dungeon… Well. I only did a few runs on it so far, and I didn’t put all my effort into it. Just going to the tenth floor for a casual run.” I said before shutting my mouth and trying to remember how much I was paid for… “It was like 6 bucks for ten floors, and that’s assuming you weren’t doing it with someone else.”
{6 bucks for possibly dying!?}
{That’s not a lot}
{Is that the average or highest you get?}
“It’s the highest I got from ten floors. It’s mainly to do with varying quantities of drops and monsters.” I said, seeing people’s dissatisfaction. If I end up making this whole deal look very unlucrative and not worth the risk, I can see Wiina getting pretty sad and disappointed.
I really don’t want to end up doing something that could ruin her mood, especially after what we did two nights back…
“Now you all are probably wondering why it’s so low, especially since monsters don’t respawn frequently in the first pce, so it’s overall less gain for one dungeon than you may expect..” Some might have already heard of this, but I should repeat it for anyone who might take all of this too harshly. “One. We need to carry a bunch of heavy materials back to the surface. You guys remember my return stream to the dungeon right? I had a rge bag with me. Two. Right now they forbid us from collecting anything that could spoil like monster flesh, which is a good deal of the monsters in this particur dungeon. Three. No one has a clue which is more valuable as far as material goes. They can’t sp a price for each item arbitrarily, not even the potions and weapons you get as rewards. It’s not like the economy is stable right now either, so they can’t really afford to pay much for an operation that might not work out.”
{But the fact that they even started it means they know something right?}
“Hm? I guess that’s true, they wouldn’t do something so bold if they’re not confident of some sort of information they have. Still, like I said, it’s still a new territory and they need to tread carefully. Otherwise it’s just going to be another bubble that’s gonna pop.” I replied to a pretty reasonable comment. I’m not trying to defend those guys, just pointing out things working against them. I’m being as objective as I can. “But I’m not really here today to be a conspiracy theorist. I’m just in a good mood to talk.”
{Guess you can’t say?}
{What could that be about?}
“Now then…” I said while making the camera get a good shot of a good deal of the town. “I think it’s time for me to log off, unless you guys have something else to say.”

<1: 42 pm>
“How the hell do you have so much stamina?” I asked as both of us slowly walked down the stairs with way less vigor to it.
“A lot of work.” She said with a rather creepy smirk. “Now then, I’ll be the one to kill the next boss, you can stay in the back like a squishy little mage you’re supposed to be.”
“How the hell can you categorize someone who rams into people and cws their eyes out as squishy.” I said with a sneer. “If only I check for stamina potions…”
“Go get it for all I care. I can kill the next boss no pro-
“What the hell are you two even doing here?” Huh? Oh. It’s her. I kinda forgot she actually does enter the dungeon from time to time. She isn’t exactly needed for anything, and nothing to prove against these monsters. She’s way above them. What is she doing standing in the middle of this floor? “Thirtieth floor and below are already cleared by me. You two should go back home and recoup your stamina.”
“Is this a joke?” Emmie said with a clear showing of hostility. I know you know that you can’t hurt her even if you tried, but that attitude is gonna be seen as real questionable if it was with anyone else. “Ugh. Why do you even need to be here of all the time? Go find something else to kill.”
“I still have some things to do down here. It’s none of your business. We can call it a bad coincidence and leave it at that.” She calmly expined. Shouldn’t she be hanging out with Karra right now? Surely they have more fun things to do together.
*Dash* *Swing* *Grab*
“Is that really wise?” Wiina asks as she gres at Emmie who has brandished her scythe against her. She looks unfazed even though Wiina caught it with her bare hand. “I have taken you for more than a barbarian wearing maiden’s clothing. Where has your mind wandered off to?”
“Tch. What a killjoy.” Emmie said as she retreated. Looks like she doesn’t like being lectured like a child. Honestly what did you expect when you tried to attack someone unprovoked, even if you know it’s not gonna do jack.
She doesn’t have the same information as I do, but everyone did get a sense that Wiina wouldn’t do anything out of line even if she was slighted.
“Whatever. If you’re going to block my way anyway, I’ll just go back up to the surface.” Emmie said before walking back up and leaving the two of us by ourselves.
“Emmie, am I right?” I said jokingly.
“She was never this aggressive before, so I wouldn’t say that.” Wiina commented.
“It’s a new her, so I’d say it counts.” If this is how she is now, then that’s that. “She was always rather reserved before anything that interested her gets her pumping, this is just a more extreme version of it.”
“Hopefully she doesn’t get in trouble for it.” She said while looking directly at me. I know full well what that stare means, no need to py coy.
“Hmph. Am I that troublesome?” I said with a slight grin on me.
“You’ll be a bigger problem in the future, at the very least.” She ominously said. “But enough about that. Do you want a quick ride back to the surface?”
“I’d love something like that.” I quickly replied. Unfortunately my ability to fly isn’t very valuable in a dungeon where it is basically a bunch of basements stapled together with stairs.
“Very well then.” She said while holding her right hand up.
