Chapter 16: Sister and Brother (2)

  Volume 1 Chapter 16 Siblings (2)

"What do you want?" Fang Zixuan put down her pen and looked at Fang Zipeng seriously.

"Of course I'm going back home." Fang Zikai couldn't get through a single day like this.

"I'm afraid in a few days, Mother will take us directly to the Zhang's house." No matter which family she was in, she didn't have any sense of belonging, anyway it was all drifting around, and this quiet Fang's house wasn't uncomfortable for her to live in.

Fang Zikong's face fell, and the siblings were unwelcome in both the Fang and Zhang households. They had never liked either place anyway. "We should at least think of a way to go out and have some fun for a few days, get a good meal before we lose our heads."

  "What's the solution?"

"Find those friends of yours and have them ask you out, then bring me along too. You're already ungrounded now, so it's fine to go out for some fresh air, right?" Fang Zixuan was already a middle school student, and her family allowed her to go out on her own, but Fang Zipeng was different. After the incident with Fang Ziyuan buying a snake, Old Lady Fang had become especially strict with these kids, so he could only rely on her.

"I have no friends." She was not used to making friends with strangers, and others found her difficult to get along with. She had long been accustomed to being alone, and as for the original Fang Zixuan's gang of friends, she would naturally not be in contact with them again.

"Who are you kidding? You don't have any friends, so who do you spend all day drinking and clubbing with?" Fang Zikeng said disdainfully, then suddenly seemed to remember something, "You two didn't break up or anything, did you?"

  "I suppose so."

"Damn, it's really not the right time." Fang Zikeng muttered, "Otherwise, you could just say you want to go out and fight to the death, and bring me along for convenience."

Fang Zi Xuan paused for a moment, and surprisingly nodded her head, "Alright."

Fang Zikong didn't expect her to agree so readily, he was overjoyed, "Then why don't you go and say it?!"

Mrs. Fang was at home with her eldest daughter-in-law Su Yang and fourth daughter-in-law Chen Ge, arranging flowers, when she heard that Fang Zixuan wanted to go out, and her expression was somewhat hesitant.

"Zi Xuan has just been punished by Old Master and forbidden from leaving the house, but now that two weeks have passed, she's eager to go out. Old Master might get angry." Su Yang spoke with a concerned expression, like a good elder.

"Eldest sister, you're thinking too much," Chen Gejiao said with a smile. "Zixuan has been confined for two weeks, she must be bored to death, let her go out and take a walk, I think it's understandable. She's been so obedient these past two weeks, Old Master's anger must have dissipated." Due to Fang Ziyuan's relationship, Chen Ge had long since hated the eldest branch of the family, intentionally trying to sabotage Su Yang's reputation.

"Alright, let Zixuan and Zipeng go out, but have the family driver follow them." Old Lady Fang pondered for a moment, "Zixuan, you're the older sister, you must take good care of your younger brother and don't let Zipeng leave your sight."

  "Yes." Fang Zixuan replied seriously.

Fang Zikai, who finally had the opportunity to sneak out, was excited like a bird out of its cage, pulling her and chirping, "Fang Zixuan, let's stick to our old routine, after we get to the city center, find an excuse to shake off the driver, then we can do our own thing..."

"Don't even think about it." Fang Zixuan looked at him calmly and ruthlessly cut off his wild fantasy.

Fang Zikun was stunned, "Fang Zixuan, what's wrong with you?"

For a long time afterwards, no matter how he ranted and cursed, she remained silent with her eyes closed.

The car stopped in front of a bookstore in the city, this new bookstore had just opened not long ago and was very popular among young people in the city. It didn't sell mass-market books that catered to the market, but instead sold various specialized and niche professional books, as well as many foreign original-language books. Fang Zixuan would often come here during her university days to look for some original-language books that couldn't be found in the library, however within a few years this bookstore went out of business under the impact of e-commerce.

He wouldn't believe Fang Ziyu would go to a bookstore to buy books unless it was a comic book store, but thinking of this possibility made his face slightly brighter, maybe he could even find some game discs.

The bookstore was very quiet, with just the right number of people inside, each engrossed in their own favorite book. Except for the owner's slight surprise at the arrival of the two children, no one paid any attention to them.

Fang Zixuan dragged Fang Zipeng to the humanities and social sciences section, as soon as Fang Zipeng entered the bookstore, his heart cooled down, this was obviously a regular bookstore, where could they possibly sell comics or games, he struggled even harder at that time.

"If you don't behave yourself, I won't mind knocking you out." Fang Zixuan growled impatiently.

"Let me go! You're the one who wanted to come here, why drag me in!" Fang Zipeng had never known about being polite and was recklessly causing a scene in the quiet bookstore.

The people who were reading with their heads down immediately cast them an unpleasant glance.

Fang Zixuan expressionlessly looked at him, pulled out a handkerchief from her bag and stuffed it into his mouth, then like magic, pulled out a rope and tied him up tightly with a few quick movements. The other end of the rope was firmly grasped in her own hand, as if leading a dog, she dragged the fiercely struggling Fang Zipeng along.

  The world suddenly became quiet!

  Everyone was shocked!

What are these two kids trying to get up to?

"You have to follow me out, grandma told you before we left that you can't leave my sight. Since you won't cooperate, I have no choice but to take drastic measures." She calmly returned Fang Zikai's incredulous gaze.

"Cough cough, little girl..." The shopkeeper couldn't help but say.

"He is my brother. I'll buy a few books and leave right away." The shop owner was still hesitating about how to speak up, but she was shut down by her explanation.

  "Hmph!"

A suppressed laugh came from behind Fang Zixuan.

As he looked away, a young man wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, looking very sunny and clear, had curved eyebrows and eyes, and was so handsome that even Fang Zi Xuan, who didn't have much aesthetic sense, couldn't help but admit that he looked good.

The young man did not hide his smile full of interest, looking at Fang Zixuan's emotionless eyes and Fang Zipeng who couldn't speak but had fiery eyes, he simply raised his right hand and made a series of apologetic gestures.

Although she didn't think there was anything funny, nor could she stop others from laughing, she could only choose to ignore it, her eyes quickly scanning the bookshelf, and with great purpose, took down several books. Seeing the books in her hand, the young man's interest became even more intense.

"This translation is a bit better." With his height advantage, he took down a book from a slightly higher shelf and handed it to her.

She didn't pretend to refuse, flipped through the German Civil Code he handed over, carefully compared it with the one in her hand for a few pages, and found that what he said was indeed reasonable. One was translated from English, and the other was directly translated from German. After comparing them, she nodded seriously at him, "Thank you!"
