The next day.

  Gentle light of the morning flowed in and warmed the room, illuminating the view inside.

  There is a woman in a maid-like outfit waiting near the entrance door while Lumine slept soundly facing her baby boy, holding him in a tender embrace.

  “Yes, after you lost consciousness, Lady Alice briefed the head servants and me about the procedure and ordered me to watch over you and notify her if something happened.”

  “Also, my lady, would you like to take a bath or have breakfast.”

  “I would like to freshen up.”

  “I understand. Would you like me to call for lady Alice to look after young master.”

  As Lumine saw her exit, she started to remember about the series of events that happened yesterday.

  Then she noticed the worried look on Cecil's face and her heart tightened, Mother Alice consoled her, then went to Cecil, both of them moving out of her sight

  Her mind was cloudy and she was able to hear bits and pieces of their conversation.

  But her fear gripped her heart when she heard that child's life was in danger.

  She quickly collected herself and strained her ears to listen and relief washed over her when Cecil said that they can use Complete Recovery to save him, if she bears the burden for him.

  She felt as if she had seen light in pitch-black darkness. The thought of losing her lifespan did not deter her.

  After convincing Alice they quickly proceeded with the treatment.

  She saw her child nestled in Alice's hands and prayed for his life in her mind.

  After a few agonizing moments the baby's body twitched and he slowly opened his gem-like golden eyes.

  She finally relaxed when she heard the cry of her baby.

  “My lady the bath is ready.”

  “I see, wait for some time until mother arrives.”

  Sophie bowed to her and moved to the corner of the room, closed to door.

  They waited for some time until Alice arrived.

  A knock was heard and the door opened revealing Alice in beautiful beige coloured gown adorned with fine embroidery.

  Alice approached Lumine with a gentle smile on her face, while Sophie followed and prepared a chair for her to sit closer to the parent child duo.

  Alice gracefully sat down and thanked Sophie with a slight nod and smile and talked to Lumine.

  “You appeared to be in good health… How is the baby.”

  “There are no problems anymore mother, he had his meal yesterday and slept until just moments before you arrived.”

  “I see, it looks like he quite an appetite.”

  They both chuckled.

  Alice and Lumine observed the boy as he drank his milk in silence until Lumine broke the silence in a slightly hesitant tone. You can clearly see longing in her eyes, which Alice didn’t miss,

  “Mother, have you received any message from Lucien.”

  Alice chuckled a little as she saw Lumine’s meek demeanour. Seeing this Lumine blushed a little. In a light tone Alice replied,

  “Don’t worry, dear. He messaged me in the morning that he will try to return as soon as possible, but it might take him a week.”

  As Alice saw the sad look on her face, she continued while placing her hand on Lumine’s,

  “He also apologised and said that he will come with a gift as well as won’t leave your side for at least a year. According to him it took time to complete this time’s job and also make preparation for a long break.”

  A smile returned to Lumine’s face as she heard his message.

  His smile warmed both of their hearts and even Sophie had a smile tucked in her lips.

  While wiping the tear from her face Alice asked,

  “Have both of you decided on his name?”

  “Yes mother, we decided that Lucien will decide the name if the baby is a boy and it will be me if it’s a girl. So we will have to wait till Lucien comes back” replied Lumine with an awkward smile.

  When Alice heard this reply she frowned slightly,

  “Now that’s troubling, looks like I will be having a long chat with this negligent son of mine.”

  Lumine smiled awkwardly and averted her gaze.

  “Mother, what should I do about cleaning him. Is it okay for him to bath or should I simply use cleanse to wash him.”

  “For now use magic to clean him, we can start actually bathing him after he grows a bit strong. Also you should get ready before Cecil arrives I will take care of him.”

  “Okay mother.”

  Lumine wiped the baby’s mouth, hugged him one more time, and then handed him to Alice.

  As the baby saw Alice, he tilted face in confusion. Looking at his behaviour Alice smiled slightly and said in a gentle tone as she held him.

  “Hello, little one. I'm your grandma.”

  Lumine slowly got out of bed and left the room while the baby was not looking at her.

  Alice continued to interact with him for some time.

  After a while Lumine entered the room, she wore a beautiful light blue gown which complemented her hairs along with an azure necklace.

  Behind her Cecil also entered the room.

  They all settled on the sofa set and Sophie served them tea. Alice returns the baby back to Lumine and sat adjacent to her with Cecil in front of them.

  “So, Mrs. Lumine how are you feeling, does it hurt anywhere. Also how is the baby”

  “I am alright Cecil with no discomfort. The baby is also healthy, he is eating from time to time and sleeping.”

  “Okay, I will perform a quick check on both of you so please come close to me.”

  Lumine stood up and approached her. Cecil took a small disk from her pocked and put it on the chest of baby, as the disk settled on him a slight green light came from the device.

  Cecil brought her wrist close to her and tapped on her bracelet opening a bluish interface, she skilfully operated it to check the condition of the baby.

  After it was complete, she removed the device and placed it on Lumine and repeated the process. As the check-up completed, she looked from device and said with a smile,

  “There are no problems with both of you. Both of you are perfectly fine and healthy.”

  Lumine sighed in relief as she heard her, and Alice also looked relieved.

  She looked Cecil in her eyes and thanked her,

  “Thank you for your effort, Cecil”

  “Don’t thank me, also I will continue to check-up on you regularly. Take care”

  As she said this Cecil stood up, bowed to Alice, and left the room.

  Alice also stood while saying,

  “I will also leave for now, take care. I will visit you from time to time.”

  She stopped briefly and in a soft tone said to Sophie

  “If anything happens call me immediately.”

  Sophie gave a slight nod and opened the door.

  Lumine also stood up and went near the crib putting the baby down carefully and called out to Sophie.

  “Bring me the breakfast in my room. Also do the same for lunch and dinner.”

  “Yes my lady.” Replied Sophie and left the room

  Lumine also sat near the crib and started singing a lullaby to baby while patting him on the head.
