Chapter 30: Super Soldier Serum

[You have received 1 Skill Point for achieving your first S-rank evaluation.]

[Congratulations, Player, for clearing the scenario. New map and new elements unlocked.]

  [Your current alignment: Lawful Neutral.]

[Please select your reward as soon as possible.]

[Option 1: Randomly acquire three skills or specialties obtained during your previous transmigrations.]

[Option 2: Randomly draw three items obtained during your previous transmigrations.]

So this alignment is a new element... Julian Thorne mused. It seemed that each simulation would alter his alignment, influencing his actions in subsequent simulations.

His eyes lit up when he saw the rewards. He never expected an S-rank evaluation for this run. The rewards were incredibly generous: a whopping 29 Transmigration Coins and a precious Skill Point.

However, he found himself torn between the two options. The Legendary Vampire template he had chosen this time, although free, was even more powerful than templates like the God of Gamblers or the Ultimate Underworld Boss. Transmigrating with a template allowed for a chance to draw its skills, and there was a high probability of obtaining overpowered Expert or even Master-level skills.

But the items... the Super Soldier Serum was incredibly tempting.

After careful consideration, Julian chose the second option.

  [You have selected Option 2.]

[You have obtained the Epic-grade item: Super Soldier Serum.]

[You have obtained the Epic-grade item: Phoenix Suit MK 1.]

[You have obtained the Rare item: Broken Infinity Gauntlet.]

[Super Soldier Serum]: Epic-grade item. A diluted [Super Soldier Serum] (30% concentration). Can be directly injected. Enhances the user's metabolic functions and all physical capabilities, unlocking the body's potential.

[Phoenix Suit MK 1]: Epic-grade item. A suit created by the Phoenix, Tony Stark, from Earth-83716. Lacks thermal weapons but possesses a wide array of functionalities.

[Broken Infinity Gauntlet]: Rare item. A gauntlet broken after the Snap.

"Yes! Super Soldier Serum!" Julian was thrilled. The Phoenix Suit MK 1 was a pleasant surprise, too.

He opened his inventory and retrieved the serum. It was a 5ml syringe filled with a pale yellow liquid containing some small black particles.

According to the simulator, death was unlikely. Even if the serum failed, the worst-case scenario would be ending up with a skull face like the Red Skull.

Screw it, I, Julian Thorne, have never relied on my looks!

He took the syringe, inserted it into a vein in his arm, and slowly pushed the plunger, injecting the serum into his bloodstream.

A sharp, searing pain instantly spread throughout his entire body.

  "Hiss—"

Julian gritted his teeth as an unbearable agony coursed through him. It felt like he'd been hit by a truck, his body torn apart, even his bones seemingly shattered one by one. He nearly blacked out from the pain.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

After an indeterminate amount of time, the excruciating pain gradually subsided. Julian exhaled deeply, feeling utterly drained.

He checked the information panel, and it was flooded with notifications.

[You have used Super Soldier Serum (30% concentration). Integration progress: 48%. No vital radiation detected... Serum absorbed!]

[You have used Super Soldier Serum (30% concentration). Integration progress: 77%. No vital radiation detected... Serum absorbed!]

[You have used Super Soldier Serum (30% concentration). Integration progress: 100%. Integration complete! Compatibility: Perfect]

[You have gained +10 Strength, +10 Dexterity, +10 Constitution, +5 Intelligence.]

[You have gained the specialty [Transcendent Physique].]

  "[Transcendent Physique]?"

Julian was stunned. He checked his attribute panel again, and there it was, a new specialty: [Transcendent Physique].

"Is this... an Elite specialty?" Julian was astonished.

In the game "Apocalypse," there was a special type of specialty called Elite specialties. These were exclusive to Elite-template NPCs and bosses. They were generally very powerful, and even Elite NPCs didn't always possess them.

For example, Julian's [Transcendent Physique] increased his primary attribute growth by 0.35 per level. This meant that every 3 levels, Julian would gain an extra primary attribute point. Considering the level cap of 60 in the first expansion, Julian would have 20 more primary attribute points than others. Absolutely insane.

For Julian, the [Transcendent Physique] specialty undoubtedly secured his growth potential. He might even be able to challenge those legendary NPCs in the future.

  His panel had changed:

  Other details omitted.

Damn, I'm already an Elite NPC. Based on the description, he should be roughly equivalent to an average supernatural being at the start of the game.

This transmigration had been incredibly fruitful. Besides the serum, the other major prize was the Phoenix Suit MK 1...

This reward was a pleasant surprise for Julian. After all, every man dreamed of wearing a powered suit.

After making sure the door was locked, Julian selected the Phoenix Suit MK 1 from his inventory and equipped it.

Almost instantly, a gold and red suit materialized on his body. Helmet, arm guards, torso, back, and leg pieces all snapped into place, forming a seamless, crimson and gold armor.

His combat rating instantly soared to 995, a fivefold increase!

It's cool, it's powerful, but it's way too flashy... No wonder nobody asked Tony Stark to do their hair. Only he could pull off this aesthetic.

The helmet was half-covered, with two feather-like "ears" on either side, exposing his mouth. It was equipped with night vision and a thermal imager. The suit offered excellent protection, including fire, impact, and slash resistance.

The gauntlets had an adhesive property, making climbing easy. There were about a dozen buttons on the arm guards, their functions unknown for now. He dared not test them in the room, fearing he might accidentally fire some hidden weapon.

The utility belt contained a rope, a cutting tool, a breathing apparatus, and even two hidden throwing knives.

The cape seemed to be made of a special material that, when electrified, could unfold into a pair of wings, likely allowing for short-distance flight and gliding.

In short, it was like a less-equipped Batman suit, but it was still incredibly awesome!

This suit could serve as his trump card, but he'd have to change the color scheme later. It was way too conspicuous.

After admiring himself in the mirror for a while, Julian reluctantly unequipped the Phoenix Suit and turned his attention to his other gains.

[Detected that the player has achieved a perfect clear in "Endless War." You have one chance to retain a talent in the real world. Proceed with the draw? Yes/No]

  [Yes!]

[Draw complete: You have obtained the Blue talent (Athletic Genius).]

Athletic Genius (Blue): Your athletic ability is exceptionally outstanding.

Julian was a little disappointed that he didn't draw any of the purple talents, but the red dots on his achievement and mission panels quickly made him forget his disappointment.
