"Battle Begin!"
Pikachu charged forwards with a newfound speed and weight to its steps. Dreepy darted forward using Dragon Rage and covering itself in dragon type energy in a sudo Dragon Rush dubbed Dragon Rage Armor. “Pikachu use Thundershock! Then Spark!” Ash yelled, exuding energy and excitement. “Dreepy keep on pushing forwards it won’t matter.” Pikachu’s Thundershock collided with Dreepy and Donny flinched. It looked like it actually hurt Dreepy! Next came the Spark as Donny was too shocked to change plans. Spark knocked Dreepy down with only minimal damage from the sudo Dragon Rush. Maybe Pikachu had still had some left over evolution energy? Donny focused again and was only slightly panicking, he never had to think on the fly since his strategy of speed blitzing had always worked. “Alright Dragon Rage Dreepy, get back and dodge any attacks out range it.” This is when Donny learned how fast lightning actually travels. Dreepy was faster than any pokemon that wasn’t legendary or a member of his species. The fastest Dreepy could travel maybe 430 mph (692 km/h) and our Dreepy could travel 390 mph (627 km/h) at his absolute fastest. 692 times faster. Or 270,000 mph (434,522 km/h) was how fast lightning traveled. Of course the little Pikachu couldn’t fire off lightning like a storm but his wasn’t slow enough to make any meaningful difference in the fact that Dreepy got hit every time. “Thundershock, Thundershock, Thundershock!” Ash yelled happily. “Dreepy forget range dive in again with Dragon Rage Armor!” “Then let’s use Spark Pikachu!” Dreepy and Pikachu collided and once again it looked as if Dreepy would lose. “Dragons don’t lose to rodents! In fact, dragons don’t lose! We don’t lose! Let’s go Dreepy!” Dreepy heard its trainer-dad’s word and pushed harder. “Pikachu if we’re gonna be the strongest we have to beat Donny let’s get that out of the way now!” That was a poor choice of words for Ash. Dreepy and Donny were both angry at that remark; it hurt their pride like they were just another trainer in his path. “Dree!” Dreepy pushed Pikachu back slowly. The breath of dragon rage was getting stronger, hotter even. Eventually Pikachu was thrown back and landed on its back with a thud. “We aren’t done Quick Attack Barrage while it’s down.” Pikachu tried to get up but Dreepy was too fast and began to pelt him with Double Team clones using Quick Attack. “Pikachu deal with them with Spark.” “Dreepy make them use Dragon Rage Armor.” Neither Dreepy nor Donny knew if this was possible but they were angry so they didn’t care much. Dreepy focused intently, the amount of clones going down significantly, but the ones that remained used a weakened Dragon Rage and charged forward. Interestingly instead of fading these Dreepy clones exploded on impact with spark hurting Pikachu. “Again Dreepy!” Dreepy shot of the clones again but it took a bit longer this time as it took a lot of energy to have 2-3 clones become what was essentially homing missiles. Luckily enough he was able to fire off 2 more clones that hit Pikachu now fallen out of spark from the unexpected damage. “Pikachu use Thundershock!” Pikachu did use Thundershock but it lacked the power behind the last one since it evolved. Dreepy still had been hurt, sure but not deterred. “The evolution energy is wearing off push your advantage Dreepy! Quick Attack Barrage! Dreepy despite being tired loyally followed the order sending 4 clones to swarm the weakening Pikachu while ash yelled for Sparks and Thundershocks that only prolonged the inevitable. After a minute or so of flailing Pikachu fell, fainted on the ground. “The winner is… Donatello Draco!” Oak announced as Dreepy floated back to Donny, tired from the genuine challenge that Pikachu provided. Joey, Goh, Serena, and Chloe all came down from the stands with their pokemon and Applin with Serena. Goh and Joey were the first to speak, “Donny, that was super cool, Dreepy's clones were like missles!” “Yeah I don’t think Rattata could do that even if he knew Double Team!” Applin called out to Dreepy praising its teammate while Eevee excitedly joined in. Serena Gave Donny high praise for his win, and Chloe feigning reluctance also congratulated Donny. Goh suddenly had a thought. “Hey Donny what starter are you gonna choose none of them are dragon type pokemon?” Donny himself hadn’t thought about that, Bulbasaur and Squirtle were off the table and Though Charmander and its evolutions looked like dragons the type wasn’t there. Charmander and its evolutions were too docile and leaned further into fire then other dragons. They were still fierce and dangerous but the rare pokemon were domesticated before being given out making them lose the dragon type a few centuries ago in exchange for the flying type. Feral Charmander were thought to be extinct and the few Feral Charizard that people knew off were almost of legendary power level and soon to die of old age. “I guess I’ll take Charmander.” Donny had remembered one thing though, Mega Evolution. Though only the most powerful and wealthy people in the world had keystones and mega stones and many mega Pokemon hadn’t been discovered due to the rarity of the stones, Mega Charizard X had been confirmed a dragon type when world champion Leon had mega evolved his in an exhibition match against his rival and showed the world the very first instance of the beast. “Yeah I think I’ll go with Charmander.” Goh seemed to catch on to his friends thinking. “You think you can find a mega stone! Come on even if we forget about keystones a Pokemon has to just happen to sense its stone after coming within a certain distance of one it’s like impossible!” “Yeah I was thinking that or I teach it to be feral again by surrounding it with dragons.” Chloe chimed in. “I don’t think that’s how that works…” “Well three ultra balls must be nice, those are super expressive I heard.” Serena chimed in. “You want them, I don't need them. Why add three to more than I could ever need? You Joey and Goh could all have one and I know Chole doesn’t even want to be a trainer so she doesn’t need one.” The three kids looked shocked they had almost forgotten that Donny was in fact filthy rich.
After a few minutes Oak had corralled everyone and taken them back to camp where Parents were waiting Lots of kids had run over to their parents excitedly while Donny had looked stunned not by his fathers presence but one of his older brothers was also there. Night Draco the family’s Salamence master known to Unova as The Trainer of The Blood Moon for his powerful mega Salamence.(for Rojune Mega Salamence when looked at from above its wings look like a crescent moon and its wings are red hence “blood moon” look it up) “what’s up Donny how’s it been besides being stuck without a license for the next 5 years.” His brother casually regarded him “Hey night I heard you got a keystone recently! How’d you do it? I need one now!” Even Donny’s ever intimidating father looked surprised by this. “Donatello, why would you ever need a keystone don’t tell me you want one just because your brother has attained one.” “No father it’s not that it’s- well I don’t need one right now but I will need one… because well I accidentally won a Charmander.” Now the Dracon family didn’t restrict itself to only dragon type Pokemon but they tried to stay away from Pokemon that only looked dragon-like unless they had taken well to the dragon type as compared to the rest of their species. “Show me” his dad ordered. “Well I can do that for you Mr. Draco if Donatello has already made his choice.” *Oak began to explain the tournament as he took out the pokeballs releasing Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. Donny spoke before his father but they would’ve had the same words. “No. You raise multiple of the starters right, take me to your lab please.” One look at Donatello’s father and opal knew that refusal wasn’t really an option.
After saying his proper goodbyes to his friends Donny and his brother took a seat on Salamence, his father on a Flygon, and Oak on a Charizard of his own. They all took off flying quickly towards Oak’s lab after everyone had left. Flying over the main building they headed towards a different part in the field behind it. They landed in a field that was charred or even burning in some places with lots of Charmander Charmeleon and Charizard. Donny, as if drawn to it, immediately locked onto a Charmander that was getting thrown around by a Charmeleon. Charmander was knocked away again. “Char!” It got up again undeterred and shot fire from its mouth while running at its adversary. “Fighting with its older siblings again… that one-” Donny cut the professor off “Is the one I want.” Charmander got thrown again before the Charmeleon walked off seemingly bored with its younger sibling. The Charmander still got up and tried to fight another of its siblings, a slightly smaller Charmander who it actually fainted against due to the damage from its prior battle. It reminded Donny of himself as a kid, he had always tried to fight his older brothers and sisters and had always lost pitifully. Even now back in the cave he’d lost plenty of times to dragons. He knew that this was the one that he wanted to partner up with. Now having fainted Donny was able to get a better look at it and was delighted to see that it did seem to take on more dragon-like traits longer claws and teeth, and interestingly when it was battling it shot blue fire from its mouth and seemed to have a blue tail flame but that went away once it fainted. Donny chalked that up to Blaze the natural ability of the fire type. Its most striking features however were the top half of its head was darker scales and multiple other stripes on its body that were darker patches. When the lizard awoke it looked up at Donny with bright blue eyes much brighter than the rest of its species a neon blue. “Char. Mander.” It spat. It was obvious he didn’t accept Donny as a trainer and wanted a battle. “Fine, let's do it, but when you're at full strength, not just after you woke up. Have a meal and chill for a bit.” Charmander did just that after being released into the field again. It came back an hour later, raring to battle. “Applin you can have a turn, it's been a while!” Donny yelled as he tossed the wyrm’s pokeball. Applin hit the field excitedly. It was so exciting to have a battle after so long. That excitement vanished when the Charmander fell to a single Rollout. “That was anticlimactic.” Oak coughed out. “It was expected.” The three family members next to the professor said simultaneously. But Charmander wasn’t done yet as they thought, it struggled to its feet, tail flame burning the same bright blue as its eyes. Rage overtook the small lizard and it ran forward at Applin. But it wasn’t Rage as in the move it was more primal, more fierce it was undeniably Dragon Rage. That was all the proof the Draco family needed, sure the species could learn the move but it was unexpected to see so early in life normally it was a sign they were close to evolving but there was no chance it was. Still the move did little to Applin and the apple lightly rolled into the creature signaling its true end. After the lizard woke again Donny asked his question. “So am I good enough for you?” Donny smirked. “Weakling.” Charmander tried to bite him at the comment but it was too weak from back to back losses and nodded slightly, turning its head away as if to say. “Only so I could beat you later!” Charmander was then encapsulated in an ultra ball signifying its capture.

After that the family left Oak’s lab and were taken home. Donny knew things were really about to get exciting just as he predicted he was going to Hoenn to see his sister and her tribe.
A few days later he was on a plane, a private plane owned by his father of course to be sent to Hoenn. Due to his Pokémon’s small size and the fact that he was alone barring the flight attendant and pilots, he was able to release them and let them scamper around the plane. Charmander didn’t even try to pick a fight with its new teammates; it had done so over the last few days and learned its lesson after they were annoyed with it. As a flight attendant made her way towards him Donny spoke first. “Drop the ‘young master’ crap, keep it to Donatello.” She nodded at his request restraining herself from using the very practiced title as she asked him if he needed anything to which he answered no. As he was on the plan Donny had a thought that he considered brilliant, he would go to Alola that was the safest region and hadn’t changed their laws on someone starting as a trainer there. That was preceded by realizing there was only one dragon in Alola that couldn’t be found anywhere else and he lost interest.
The flight eventually ended, the plane landing on route 114 before taking off again without Donny. Now Donny had to make his way into Meteor Falls and fall into Meteor Village. Donny sent out his Charmander as he entered the cave, its tail illuminating the immediate area around him. He came across a giant hole after exploring for a bit. A giant hole that he had to blindly jump down and hope for the best, Because Meteor Village was below Meteor Falls. After a moment to calm himself Donny jumped. “I… Won’t… Scream.” He said holding himself back and after around 5 seconds of falling light filled his eyes as opposed to the dark hole. Not that he had any time to admire as he soon hit water. Swimming back up to the surface he was met with a growling Bagon. “Hey who’re yooouuu…” the person's voice trailed off as they realized who they were looking at. Zinnia did a double take and rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn’t seeing things, her brother had just fallen into the village, she hadn’t seen him in years. “So you just gonna sit there shocked or you gonna call this Bagon off?” Donny asked as Bagon snapped repeatedly at him not letting him out of the water. Zinnia came back to her senses and called Bagon off with a pet that looked more like a punch so the dragon would feel it through its strong head. Finally climbing out of the water Donny decided to properly introduce his team to his sister. “So here’s my team so far, my starter.” He tossed Dreepy’s pokeball, releasing the ghostly dragon which tried to sit on his head before realizing he was soaked and backing off. “He’s my strongest not by far but he hasn’t lost to another trainer yet, well once but it was officially our win so it doesn’t count.” “I bet Bagon could beat him.” Donny let that one slide in the essence of wanting to change before battling. “Anyway next up is you.” He threw Applin’s pokeball. The green apple materialized and the wyrm popped out. “This guy was my second same with Dreepy this guy hasn’t lost a trainer battle yet. Lastly, my newest member from only a few days ago.” He released Charmander, who immediately tried to battle the Bagon, before being stopped by his teammates. “He’s stubborn but he’s determined so not much more I could ask for.” Zinnia nodded along as he spoke about his team before it was her turn. “This Bagon is my partner and we’re gonna battle after you change right?” “Obviously.” Zinnia took Donny to her home; it was nothing special about as good as a tribal dwelling could get thanks to their mother’s special position in the tribe. Said mother was shocked to see her son had appeared out of nowhere in her own home. “Mom, look who just randomly showed up.” Aster only knew her son through the description of the boy her daughter met years ago but that wouldn’t have been needed for her to tell the boy in front of her was her son. She just knew he was, she felt it. “So you're my mother? The woman blessed by Rayquaza.” She realized the boy must have been cold as he was dripping and offered him a towel as well as a change of clothes. After changing Donny took a quick look at himself, it was a change of pace from his usual attire but he couldn’t say he hated it. Rugged Heavy-Duty Boots with long socks, ripped pants, scaly fingerless gloves, a loose black shirt, and most obnoxiously a cloak with ends that looked charred and an oversized hood. Overall it looked like the male version of what Zinnia was wearing. It had dark colors besides the tan of the cloak and the purple accents where red would be for Zinnia. Returning to his family he was met with a back breaking hug from his mother now that he wasn’t wet. It felt weird to him, no warmth or love, it was awkward. He didn’t know this woman.
Apparently she knew a whole lot about him though, one of his half sisters had apparently frequented the falls and decided that it was a great opportunity to talk about Donny’s whole home life to his mother. Other members of his large family had come in hopes of attaining Keystones, and he’d been mentioned in passing. “That Charmander of yours is so feisty refused to eat for a while, but it came around.”
Donny was content here, he hadn't seen much yet but he had just felt surrounded by dragons, and he was looking forward to his battle with his sister.
