"A new delivery is needed for honey cakes to the New Dawn event!" A small girl standing four nine wearing a sharp white uniform and a white cloak with brown hair, freckles and golden eyes shouted from the front of a bakery.
"This event is insane... our delivery of optimum might not be enough to keep up with demand at this point." A large man wearing a similar uniform and bushy brown mustache and ragged hair muttered from the back of the bakery's kitchen. "How many orders does that make so far Delilah?
"Two hundred and twelve, Dad, with another fifteen on top of that, so two hundred and twenty seven." She shouted while rapidly packaging white sealed boxes of cake with a heart logo.
With a jingle of a bell the front door peering out to the bustling mega city center opens and a man enters the front door walking with military bearing wearing a emerald green exo-suit with black hair and a sharp scar down his forest green eye looking around curiously at the bakery's options. Honey cakes, chocolate glazed biscuits, doughy disks with a blue light floating above them, and multiple trays full of different suits depicted as cookies.
"Mr Cane has out done himself again! How are you doing today Delilah? Keeping busy I imagine but maybe you've found the time to attend the ongoing event?"
Delilah glanced up from her packaging and smiled when she saw the Emerald Jack
"I haven't but all my friends have been talking about it and I'm so jealous because I would love to do nothing more then to drop all of this and run out there and see the awesome sights and feels that are being portrayed! Could you take me?!"
She word dumped onto the chuckling Emerald Jack.
"Well we would have to see how your father feels about it but I'm sure he can be convinced to let you go for a single event hm?" Emerald said while throwing a glance towards the back.
William Cane looked at the imposing Jack grabbing boxes of emerald themed cookies and the wide eye pleading look his daughter was giving him and knew in that moment he lost. "Alright, Delilah you can go."
"YES YES YES YES!! You won't regret this dad I'll even bring the delivery and make you proud!" Delilah nearly screamed in excitement as she did a little dance.
Emerald Jack couldn't help but break out in full blown laughter at seeing how wrapped around her finger Will was. He thought about how he was before the bakery and nodded to himself that nothing could've helped Will more then adopting Delilah.
"Alright Delilah you better go get dressed and grab your experiments to bring with you. The key to getting clients is?" Will asked
"Demonstrations, enticing smells, and discussing flavors!" Delilah said while running out the front door.
Will chuckled watching her go before turning to Emerald Jack.
"So, did you just come to take my trouble maker away or was there something else you needed?"
Emerald Jack smiled. "A large part was checking up on you and making sure you're okay. The other part was discussing something serious regarding the event and part of the reason I'm bringing your daughter with me."
Will's eyebrows furrowed with concern "Bad or good? Nothing dangerous I hope?"
"Critical, from what we can tell there are advantages to observing the event in progress." Emerald said while idly biting a cookie "We've seen large increases in memory retention, processing, and most importantly revelations in scripture."

"How is that possible? Are you trying to take her to a experiment?!" Will started to grumble out with veins starting to pulse.
"No, it's a natural resonance from one or more of the Mythos Entities affecting the show. As you may have heard we have apparently tapped into a vested interest they have in showing us what happened "authentically" Emerald said while eating his seventh cookie.
"Not only do they want us to see what happened, they are actively affecting the event to protect viewers from memetic effects and other hazards. You heard what happened during the first show I imagine?"
"I heard it was almost a total shit-show with half of the attendees requiring medical attention. Are you telling me that our protections failed and the only thing holding the show together is this Mythos blessing us?" Will asked breathing deeply to stabilize his mood.
"Partially, we of course also had more focals implanted and better scripture of course. Your daughter is safe I assure you I'll bring you a souvenir from the event. Oh, and Will?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm really happy you're alive and well. After the war and you lost your mental... I was worried we wouldn't see you live to see you rise through." Emerald said solemnly while gazing at a painting on the left side of a group of men in black exo-suits holding tower shields and glowing maces standing in a line facing off against humanoid creatures made of shadow.
"After... while struggling with everything and heading home.... I saw Delilah making mud patties and trying to sell them... and I thought to myself "if this girl of maybe seven can try to pick herself up from desperation with something as simple as trying to sell mud bricks of all things... I can do more myself... I can be more... I can be what's needed in this small way." Will said while tightening his grip on the counter.
Emerald looked over at Will and smiled. "I had always wondered where she came from when you came back with this random kid offering me mud" Emerald chuckled glancing out the door seeing Delilah impatiently tapping her feet and staring at them both mouthing "SHOW"
Will and Emerald chuckled. "I better get going then I wouldn't want to face the wrath of that Shadowling"
Will held out a large bag to Emerald. "Take these with you? it's some of her earlier experimental delights. I've never told anyone but I think she may be blessed. I was able to take these before she realized but I think it's time she shines."
Emerald's eyes widened into saucers while looking inside the bag. "Holy shield guard save us, is this real?! Why have you waited so long?! I would've showed her display to the Five Jacks meeting!"
Will shook his head "She wasn't ready and besides, can you imagine how big headed she would've been if I had done it earlier?"
Emerald laughs and waves his gauntleted hand behind him while walking out to Delilah who Will now sees distantly berating the Emerald Jack for being late.
Will chuckles and turns back to making a orange and red cake wondering how things would change.
