036: Fight!

"Your servant 'Skeleton Guard' has died."

"Your servant 'Skeleton Sentinel' has died."

"Your servant 'Skeleton Warrior' has died."

"Your servant 'Skeleton General' has died."

  "Your servant..."

  In an instant!

Dozens of messages flooded Lucas's attribute panel, all reporting the deaths of his skeleton minions!

Earlier, Lucas had taken control of the only Skeleton Commander under his command to check on the battle situation more than ten kilometers away.

After being surrounded by the three skeletal legions belonging to the Skeleton King, those legions did not immediately attack. They only encircled Lucas's forces, seemingly waiting for the Skeleton King to arrive.

  Now,

dozens of skeleton minions were killed almost simultaneously... something only the Skeleton King could have done!

  Switching his perspective.

When Lucas focused his attention on one of his skeleton minions within the skeletal legion, he indeed saw that towering figure.

The enraged Skeleton King charged into his skeletal legion, its massive two-handed warhammer slamming down. A violent shockwave erupted from the impact, shattering every skeleton within a radius of dozens of meters into dust.

The Skeleton King had joined the battle!

The Death Castle was about ten kilometers away from the battlefield. Conservatively estimating, it would take the Skeleton King about five to six minutes to travel from the battlefield to the Death Castle.

  So...

The soul fire in his eye sockets flickered slightly, and his skeletal body tensed up like a coiled spring. Lucas burst forward like a leopard, his target being the Bone Sniper in the arrow tower!

  One step.

  Crossing more than ten meters.

When the Bone Sniper and the two Bone Archers beside it came into view, Lucas raised his bone glaive high... and slashed down with all his might!

  "Death Cleave!"

  Ten dark light blades erupted.

Encasing the Bone Sniper and the two Bone Archers in a cage of deadly blades.

With the sound of razor-sharp cutting, large amounts of bone dust scattered into the air.

The ten light blades—the two Bone Archers withstood the first four, while the remaining six were all absorbed by the Bone Sniper.

When the dark Cleave disappeared, the three skeletons had been sliced into several pieces, lying on the ground.

  Crack!

  Crack!

  Crack!

Three crisp sounds followed as Lucas shattered the skulls of the three skeletons. Only then did he crouch down to absorb the remains of the Bone Sniper.

"You have slain the 'Bone Sniper.'"

"You have gained 5,000 experience points."

"You have slain 'Bone Archers' *2."

"You have gained 1,000 experience points."

"You have absorbed the essence within the bones, your body has grown stronger."

"Your strength has increased by 3 points."

"Your agility has increased by 45 points."

"Your constitution has increased by 2 points."

"You have obtained the class change information for the 'Warrior Class Template - Bone Sniper.'"

The second warrior class template was his!

After glancing at the information refreshed on his attribute panel, Lucas ignored the remains of the two elite skeletons and immediately left the arrow tower, heading toward the center of the castle.

  He was in a hurry.

The remains of the two elite skeletons could only provide him with a limited amount of attribute points, so he decided to abandon them.

The other three arrow towers on the walls each housed a Bone Sniper. However, their attention was primarily focused outside the Death Castle. As long as he infiltrated the castle, he could essentially avoid their detection.

Recalling the information he had obtained from the Skeleton Commander, Lucas carefully moved along the edges of the castle corridors.

This was the core of the Land of Buried Bones.

It was filled with the densest death aura.

Naturally, there were no plants in this castle.

However, the abandoned open spaces and training grounds were littered with broken bones.

Even in the corners of the castle corridors, there were piles of bones and skulls—remnants of skeletons killed over the long passage of time.

Carefully making his way through the castle's front courtyard and into the interior,

  Lucas paused again.

Ahead of him, two skeleton squads were passing through a corridor.

One squad was led by a Skeleton General and consisted of Skeleton Warriors, while the other was led by a Bone Archer and consisted of Skeleton Archers.

Judging from their paths, the Skeleton Warrior squad was heading to the front courtyard for patrol, while the Skeleton Archer squad was heading into the castle's interior for patrol. The two squads crossed paths at the intersection ahead of Lucas.

  Moving slowly.

Lucas calculated the timing of the two squads' movements.

When the two squads overlapped at the intersection, he suddenly rushed out from his hiding spot in the corridor!

  "Voidrend Slash!"

  In an instant.

Dark red light blades spread out.

Shredding the skeletons in both squads into piles of broken bones.

Lucas quickened his pace, passing through the intersection and ascending the stairs to enter the castle's interior.

Once inside the castle, Lucas felt much more at ease.

There were no patrols inside the castle, only Skeleton Guards and Skeleton Sentinels standing motionless in certain spots, like statues.

With Lucas's abilities, infiltrating the castle without alerting these Skeleton Guards and Sentinels was effortless.

  Soon.

Following the route from the Skeleton Commander's memories, Lucas bypassed numerous Skeleton Guards and Sentinels, arriving in a grand hall.

The hall was over a hundred meters in diameter.

Aside from the stone pillars supporting the dome on either side, the only furnishing was the stone throne at the far end of the hall.

This was the Skeleton King's seat.

Usually, the Skeleton King slept on this throne; when needed, it also used this hall to summon its many warrior-rank skeleton subordinates.

In front of the throne, on either side of the hall, were two doors.

One door led to the bedchamber—likely the resting place of the castle's original owner; the other led to the library—once the resting and research area for the spellcasters employed by the castle's owner.

And now, in this library... was Lucas's second target!
