Marcos blinked a few times, trying to focus his eyes on the blue board hovering in front of him. The bright advertisement seemed out of place in the empty, silent space surrounding him. The blue board before him glowed ethereally. For a moment, he didn't understand what he was seeing; the reality around him seemed distorted and surreal.
He had just calmed down from his panic attack, and now the unreality of the situation caught up with him. The familiar board in front of him was immediately recognizable to any avid reader of RPG and Isekai books. In the books, this is the manifestation of the system. Thinking about the situation he found himself in, in an existential void, with this window appearing, the familiarity of the setting brought back to mind all the heroes of his favorite stories, all the fantastic worlds he had explored through the pages of the books.
"I'm in a magical limbo, about to embark on an adventure in a new world?"
"Thinking about it, shouldn't some divine entity appear and explain everything to me? Did they forget me, or are they late? Do I already have access to STATUS?”
“Well, that changes things.”
Marcos was in a peculiar state. Initially, he believed himself to be a soul in a magical limbo, waiting for some entity to appear so he could have his chance to be reincarnated. However, when he saw his current status, that changed, things started to make sense: he had become a dungeon.
Thanks to his knowledge of RPGs and fantasy books, Marcos quickly understood the meaning of this transformation. Being a dungeon implied several dangers and powers. He was now an entity that attracted adventurers in search of treasures and challenges, or at least that was what he understood of the situation.
Normally, dungeons are living structures, capable of creating monsters, traps, puzzles, treasures and resources. They are typically caves or ruins, with a central core that, if destroyed, results in the destruction of the dungeon itself.
Marcos’ transformation into a dungeon was an unexpected turn of events, but still a common theme in the stories he read. Determined to embrace his new identity, he planned to use his knowledge and skills as a nerd to create something amazing.
He was excited about the possibilities and ready to transform his new reality into something extraordinary. He was prepared to face whatever challenges his new life presented him with creativity and determination.
But first he needed more information about his situation, and using his knowledge, he began searching for information in the only thing he had access to, the System, or at least what he thought was the System.
By focusing his thoughts on the terms that appear in the STATUS, Marcos instinctively realized that:
Name: Represents his true essence, something powerful and intimately linked to who he is in his essence, not yet defined.
Pseudonym: This is how he is known by others. Unlike his name, which is unique, he can have several aliases.
Title: Derived from one or more achievements. He can change or even remain without a title, depending on his future achievements.
Race: His race is a planar dungeon, which, unlike what he imagined, means that he is in a sub-space, where he has all the creative freedom he wants to build and grow, and after he establishes his first floor he will be able to create an entrance connecting it to the main plane and choose a core, since currently he does not yet have a defined form.
Level: Determines the level of growth, unlocking benefits and helping to guide his advancement in power.
Mana: A fundamental construction material for a dungeon, mana can be transformed into anything the dungeon has a design for, be it monsters, fauna, flora, treasure, materials, etc., in addition to being essential for building and maintaining structures.
DP: It is the essential currency of the Dungeon, used to carry out various transactions.
His first realization was that the books were right, always try to make the most of the system, he gained a good understanding of things thanks to this, although one thing he could not understand was how to recover mana. In the books, there is usually a mana regeneration value, but here he did not see this information. Could it be hidden information?
“I think I will know when I start creating a dungeon.”
The first choice after starting to create was the environment, which does not present much information:
As he didn't have much information, and remembering the meditation at the beginning, he chose Forest, continuing the creation of the dungeon, some choices were presented with a better description:
