Seeing that the high orc had it's back turned to us, we began sneaking into the camp. Once we got closer, I took a moment to evaluate what we were dealing with properly before attacking.
So, we could expect that this monster would have a high strength stat, if the size of it's muscles were anything to go by. Thankfully, it was rather poorly equipped. It had a massive metallic club that was about the same size as Nix and I, but it was rather cking in the armor department. By that, I mean that it was wearing a loincloth and nothing else. We couldn't afford to get hit, but dealing damage shouldn't be an issue.
I readied myself to strike as Nix prepared a powerful lightning spell. This one seemed to be a proper offensive spell and not just one designed to stun the target. When she unleashed it, I used my own draconic breath before rushing at the high orc with my bde covered in fmes. Surprisingly enough, however, it parried my attack with it's weapon. It looked a bit burnt from our attacks, but not much else. It hadn't even been stunned by Nix's attack.
Seeing that it was about to try to crush me, I jumped backwards in a less than graceful manner, narrowly avoiding being turned into a pancake.
"This thing's strong! Be careful!" (Dragonfly)
"I know, this isn't fair! It's supposed to get paralysed when getting hit by lightning!" (Nix)
"Clearly, that won't work here. Got any ideas?" (Dragonfly)
Jumping backwards to dodge another swing, I took the initiative to fly up into the air for a bit. Unfortunately, all that did was make it target Nix instead. She was able to dodge it's attacks easely, but it was still an issue. How were we supposed to kill this monster if we couldn't get close?
"Hey, how about we kill all of the orcs that are already knocked out? They are basically just free levels! If we get all the levels, we can brute force our way to victory!" (Nix)
That was certainly an idea. While we could probably get close enough to get a hit or two in, we didn't want to find out if we could take the high orc down before suffering a hit from that club.
Dropping down from the skies, I began to finish off the unconscious orcs one by one while Nix distracted their leader. It proved to be pretty effective, actually. As it turns out, orcs were supposed to be fairly strong monsters, so taking down thirty of them was kind of ridiculous to get levels.

I mean, I know that it was only like four levels, but getting four levels in the span of a minute was far from normal.
"Oh, nice, I got some levels too! I guess that the system considers what I am doing as assisting. Dodging is even easier now!" (Nix)
Once I was done sying the final orc, I got another notification, tho this one was quite a bit stranger.

Was that a good thing? I couldn't quite tell. Don't get me wrong, getting the attention of whatever being had made my sword would usually have been welcome. The issue was that, for some reason, I had a vague feeling that a being who encouraged sying downed opponents wouldn't be very nice.
Anyways, that was enough of that, getting distracted in the middle of combat wasn't a good idea. Nix seemed to be doing just fine, however. She was practically running circles around the high orc.
"Hey, Nix, do you think that you can stun it now? You should have gotten a pretty decent increase to your int, right." (Dragonfly)
"Yeah, he's too slow to catch me anyways. We got this!" (Nix)
This time around, the lightning spell did paralyse it's target. I took advantage of this by jumping up, boosting myself with my wings and delivering a downwards ssh right on top of it's skull.
The aftermath was a very dead monster and an absolute mess. There was just blood everywhere, again. This time, at least, none of it seemed to stick to me or my clothes, however. I had no doubt that there was an enchantment on my clothes to thank for that.
"Ah, take that, you annoying monster! No one can defeat the power of friendship!" (Nix)
"Yeah, the power of friendship shall always prevail. Anyways, want to help me search the camp to see if we can find some good stuff? I don't have high hopes from orcs, but it's worth a shot." (Dragonfly)
"Oh, you want loot? Wait, if you are part dragon, does that mean that you hoard stuff?" (Nix)
How had she guessed? I had thought that I had at least managed to hide my embarassing reaction to shiny things from her. I hadn't, clearly.
"If yes, that gives me a great idea! We could get all of the treasure in existence to make the biggest hoard ever. Oh, and we could steal all of the Gcius Empire's treasury too when we destroy it!" (Nix)
"That sounds like a good pn?" (Dragonfly)
What? Why was she being so supportive? My love for shiny items wasn't even remotely normal, but she was accepting it as if it was a frequent, if cool, thing. Right, she was Camity's daughter. She had seen worse.
