Chapter 70: Just a Kiss on the Corner of the Lips

Cynthia really bounced up on the spot and as a result she jumped up and almost hit her head on the top stone.

She hurriedly covered her head and didn't dare play again.

She walked up to the fourth floor study, the door was ajar, left half open for her.

With a calm face walking in, Cynthia constantly gave herself encouragement.

Must pretend nothing ever happened, must!

Caius sat on the sofa today, holding a brown leather book in his hand, and Anthony was busy at the desk.

He had just placed a table, smaller than the yew-wood desk, beside it, and on this table was a chair, also smaller, to accommodate Cynthia's height, with a red cushion on it.

Why does she feel that this table next to Kayus' large table is like a child's chair.

  She felt somehow insulted.

Cynthia pursed her lips, understanding what Kael was going to do.

"Does my lesson start today?" She tried her best to steady her pace as she walked up beside Kael.

He hummed in response, and today's mood seemed particularly good, with a slight curve at the corners of his tightly pursed lips.

"Has Austin left?" Cynthia looked around the entire study as if she hadn't seen his shadow since he came out of the bedroom.

  "Uh-huh."

This "uh-huh" was noticeably lower and laced with a hint of annoyance. Kieros was sick of Austin.

He closed the book in his hand and looked up, "Come over."

"What's going on?" Cynthia subconsciously took a step back.

Her contradictory actions were completely different from her initiative yesterday, and Kael's originally bright expression suddenly turned gloomy. He slammed the book in his hand onto the table in front of him with a 'bang'.

Anthony, who had just arranged the table, realized that something was wrong and immediately bowed to her and left, his swift action didn't give Cynthia a chance to stop him.

The study door was closed, Cynthia stepped on the sponge-like stone floor, slowly moved over, twisting her fingers helplessly: "Did I say a lot of unpleasant things yesterday?"

She hung her head, letting her untidy light golden curls fall on either side of her face, like a curtain blocking out Kael's aggressively invasive gaze.

He slowed down his voice, "Forgot?"

"Hmm." Cynthia stole a glance at his expressionless face.

Caius's mood originally had a bit of joy but instantly fell back to rock bottom. What the hell was he expecting?

Cynthia's visible discovery was that his lips had turned into a cold straight line, and his delicate face hung with coldness.

Caius held out his hand to her, palm up, with fingers delicate as porcelain.

  "Let me see your talent."

He wants her to have an examination? This is a bit of a problem.

Will he discover that the soul in this young body has been replaced?

Cynthia was somewhat uncertain and also hesitant.

Caius sensed her unease and his tone took on a hint of suppressed anger. "You have one chance, Cynthia."

She decided to take a chance and leave, betting that Kairos wouldn't find out about this, otherwise the strategic system in her mind would have no significance.

She put her hand on it.

Put it in his palm and stick it close to his skin.

Cynthia's face turned slightly red, "Is that all?"

Kairos clenched his fist and stopped talking.

  The atmosphere cooled down.

He didn't say a word, but every finger was like a fetter, grasping tightly.

He seemed to have sensed something was off, but also didn't seem to have.

Her face was chiseled like a sculpture and she couldn't carve out any emotions on it.

Cynthia was a bit nervous, biting her lip, and felt that her palms were about to sweat.

  Found? Or still not found?

This movement continued until Kayus furrowed his brow, "There is no faith within you, no power, only a pile of useless flesh and blood."

"Anyone can easily kill you." He said in a cold tone.

Cynthia certainly knew this, and he had said so more than once. It seemed that he hadn't noticed her soul was off.

She sat down beside Kayus and asked, "Don't I have any chance of learning?"

"Alright." Kael's eyes gleamed with a faint smile as he released his grip. "Believe in me, like Ross does."

He specifically mentioned Ross, trying to test whether she really didn't remember yesterday's events?

Cynthia clutched her skirt on her knees a bit nervously and asked, "How did you know Ross?"

"What you said to me last night." Kael had been watching her facial expressions, leaning back on the sofa with a casual languor.

"Ah!" Cynthia covered her mouth, terrified: "What did I just say?"

  Caius nodded.

Cynthia's shoulders slumped down, some fragmented scenes rushed into her mind, making her look surprised and embarrassed. "I didn't mean to treat you that way."

Caius raised an eyebrow, and the dark mood was finally illuminated with a bit of sunshine, his tone also became gentle, "It's not hard to learn."

  There's nothing he can't do.

"Drink your blood?" Cynthia shook her head directly into a rattle drum, "No, I don't want to, I don't want to call you father."

Her quirky thought process delighted Kael for all of two seconds.

He pressed down on his furrowed brow with the pads of his fingers, correcting, "Not blood, Cynthia. That has a lot of side effects that aren't suitable for you."

Cynthia saw his calm attitude and asked inexplicably, "Is there any side effect? You said yesterday that he can live for 300 years, this lifespan is two generations longer than ordinary humans."

"My blood made Ross lose his gender and become a half-demon humanoid creature, 200 years later without my blood support, he will accelerate aging." Kaelus glanced at her delicate face, with a hint of meaning.

What terrifies Cynthia more than decay is that Kyrios' blood can actually turn people into eunuchs!

"Never mind, never mind, I like being a waste of space."

Her words amused Kayrus, a low rumble of laughter issuing from his throat as his eyes crinkled with pleasure.

Like withered roses in hell bursting into bloom under the shining sunlight, soft and gentle to an unbearable degree.

For a moment, Cynthia fell into Kayus's smile.

She couldn't help but kneel on the sofa cushion, making it soft and sink in, with one hand supporting the cushion, her body leaned over to touch his face.

When Keirus smiled, his pupils were almost invisible, but those eyes still shone with a captivating light.

The infatuation in her eyes was unhidden, and her soft voice carried a hint of longing, "Kayus."

She suddenly got too close, and Kael's body stiffened.

His instincts told him he should yell at her to get away from him, but all that rolled out of his throat was a low, "Mm-hmm."

Before Cynthia's smile was withdrawn, she boldly leaned forward and kissed the corner of his lips.

No excessive vulgarity, just a kiss on the corner of the lips.

  He shouldn't get angry.

Who made him look so attractive to crime?
