Chapter 71: He Punished Qiao

She was certain he wouldn't get angry anymore.

Cynthia's face turned red after touching Keirus' lip corner, she quickly straightened up and jumped off the sofa, but forgot about the side effects of the Silver Antler Deer Meat Soup, so with a burst of strength she sprang up like on a trampoline and directly landed on the roof, just as her head was about to hit the chandelier.

"Ah!" she exclaimed, then closed her eyes in fear, waiting for herself to be smashed into a bloody pulp.

The expected pain did not come, a gust of wind gathered in the study, and Cynthia was instantly pulled back by an invisible force.

She didn't even have time to open her eyes before she fell back onto the sofa, and happened to land on Kael's leg. Her light golden curls spread out, and the leather sofa let out a creaking sound.

At this moment, Cynthia wanted to bury her face in her hair forever. She originally wanted to perform a beautiful woman's shy escape, but it directly became a rollover scene.

She lay still on Kael's lap, like a turtle without temper, her toes curled up awkwardly in her shoes.

Caius bowed his head, and in the complex gaze there was no sign of anger after being desecrated. He only raised his hand to lift up Cynthia's hair on one side, revealing her porcelain white neck.

It was he who pulled her back.

He didn't know what this kiss hid, but his heart was racing fast, and the surging emotions almost burst out of his chest.

She felt a chill run down her neck, Cynthia's entire body was tense, some blue veins appeared on her white skin, indicating the master's unease.

"I couldn't help myself either." She covered her face and wailed, "Don't be angry."

A warm hand pinched Cynthia's nape, a flat voice came from above her head, "Get up."

Very calm. No rebuke, no anger, none of the things Cynthia had anticipated happened, and his voice even had a hint of gentleness.

Her eyes hidden under her hair opened, and after a few turns of her eyeballs, the shock also subsided.

Is this a 34% progress benefit? Does it mean she can be more casual later on?

Slowly rising from Kayser's straight legs, Cynthia knelt beside him, making the sofa sink down a lot.

She still had a red face and hung her head, with her fingers intertwined on her thigh, looking extremely uneasy.

Caius wasn't looking at her, his profile beautiful and indifferent as he gazed past the desk to the row of tall bookshelves behind it. "Fifth shelf, tenth book," he said, his voice low and commanding. "Dark Hymns. Bring it down."

"Oh." Cynthia hastily got down from the sofa and walked to the bookshelf to find the book Kael pointed at.

She didn't notice that the young man sitting on the sofa behind her was rubbing his fingertips over the back of her neck, and her ears were slightly red.

A book wrapped in black leather, half a finger thick, was pulled out from the bookshelf by her. The cover was written with elegant golden font, and the letters seemed to reveal a hint of savagery that only nobles possessed.

Cynthia hugged the book and was about to walk over again, when Caius stood up at this time and said in a low voice, "Sit there, I'll give you seven days to finish it."

She stood by the table and watched him walk out quickly, couldn't help but feel stunned. Is it starting to make her do self-study on the first day of class? Isn't that a bit irresponsible?

Did her actions just now make him feel embarrassed?

Cynthia's mouth curled up slightly, thinking it must be this reason.

As expected, this woman is quite bold indeed.

She lowered her head and casually flipped open the book in her hand, only reading the first two chapters. The content was obscure and difficult to understand, but she could catch a few special words from it.

  Contract, Faith, Obedience, Power.

  What does Kairos mean?

Cynthia pulled out her small chair and sat in his large study, her eyes gradually becoming serious.

In the foyer on the first floor, Qiao was kneeling on the cold stone floor with a expressionless face, his body covered in wounds.

A few steps in front of her, on the platform above, was a golden high-backed chair with miniature golden lions carved on the armrests on both sides.

Caius emerged from the study and appeared in the hall, where three servants simultaneously greeted him.

He sat elegantly in the chair, his hands placed on the lion's head, and the scarlet eyes that had been stirred up by Cynthia began to calm down, gradually returning to a state of still water without any ripples.

Caius raised his chin slightly and said in a low voice, "She covered for you, but I'm glad you admitted the truth."

Cynthia is allergic to mangoes; when Anthony informs Joe of this at the time, she knows she's blown it.

Her afternoon tea almost took Cynthia's life, and that went against the responsibility given to her by adults.

She didn't take good care of Cynthia's diet and daily life, so she has to accept punishment.

"Going to the wine cellar was also your idea, you're too indulgent with her." Kael added discontentedly.

Qiao raised her eyes, with a hint of apology in them, "It was me who almost hurt her."

  "Continue."

Abel held a long black whip in his hand like a thorny branch.

When it comes to executing orders, he shows no quarter, even towards friends.

The whip struck Qiao's back again and again, each strike bringing up a little blood. She made no sound except for the occasional dull hum.

Antony stood on one side and suddenly turned his head to look outside through the gate, "Guests are coming."

Then he turned around and quickly went upstairs.

The door of the study was pushed open by Anthony, and Cynthia was intently reading a book inside. She didn't even spare him a glance at his arrival.

"Cynthia, your clothes are ready." Anthony knocked on the study door and called out to remind her.

Raising her head from the dull and incomprehensible dark hymn, Cynthia's eyes lit up. She quickly flipped the book over on the table, pushed her chair away, and stood up. "So soon! I'll go get the money."

"Let's go out the back way, the front hall is inconvenient." Antony smiled and reminded.

"What's wrong with the lobby?" Cynthia wondered.

"Lord Kyrios is there." Anthony simply said.

Cynthia went downstairs to her bedroom and fetched her purse.

She's not allowed in the front hall, so of course she has to go through the front hall, and see what that scoundrel Kael is up to.

Anthony watched Cynthia rush straight downstairs, his smile deepening.

This was the only way Joe could suffer less, he thought.

There was a sound of whips cracking in the front hall, which clearly reached the staircase.

Xin Si Ya happily arrived at the first floor with her purse, saw Qiao who was beaten until his skin was lacerated and flesh exposed, and her smile froze.

The purse in her hand fell to the ground with a rustling sound.

Kai Er suddenly turned his head, and upon seeing her, the hand on the armrest tightened slightly, with a tone of dissatisfaction, "I didn't give you permission to leave class, have you finished reading your book?"
