Chapter 72: Compromise After Compromise

"What are you doing to Joe!" Cynthia glared at him angrily, lifted her skirt and ran over.

"She didn't fulfill her duties, she should be punished." Kael replied with a frown.

Just as he was about to strike the whip, Eve rushed over and quickly withdrew his hand, hastily standing aside and saying, "Hey, be careful!"

Cynthia directly ignored Eber and stood in front of Joe, her eyes full of defense, "What else can she do wrong, she's been staying in the castle all along!"

"Go away, Cynthia. You're allergic to mangoes and almost died, the wine cellar was also my fault for letting you go there." Qiao pushed her away, although her face was pale, but there wasn't a hint of pain on her face, even her tone was still as calm as ever.

Cynthia understood at once. Was this Kaelos punishing those who had hurt her? It was a pleasant thought, but the facts needed to be clarified!

"It's me who must eat her desserts, and it was also me who brought up the wine, it has nothing to do with her!"

She directly snatched the whip from Ebel's hand and threw it to the ground, where the thorns were covered with Joe's blood and flesh. She didn't dare to look closely, nor did she dare to imagine how painful it must be.

Caius was furious that Cynthia had defended her servant, and he sat in his golden high-backed chair, his voice firm and unyielding. "Get out! Cynthia. You must understand that punishment is what makes people remember."

"Don't, Kaylus, please." Cynthia's voice was laced with pleading as she stood firmly behind Joe, her eyes red and refusing to move. "I've finally found a good friend, don't ruin her."

"It's actually not that serious, it doesn't even count as an injury." Eber ventured to say, but was immediately met with Cynthia's angry gaze, and he quickly shut his mouth.

Caius's fists clenched on the high seat, he damned himself for being unable to utter harsh words in front of those eyes, he hated seeing her tears! She always used this despicable method to try and control him!

With Joe's self-healing power, this punishment would only take a night to recover from. He should be tough and resolute in executing orders.

  "Get out of here."

Evilus looked at Caius on the high seat in surprise, this was the first time he had interrupted a punishment that had already been carried out halfway.

  Unbelievable, it's a miracle.

Antony stood at the foot of the stairs with an expression I had fully anticipated.

The exiled princess from Rhodania has reached an irreparable point in the hearts of the adults, a position that he himself is unwilling to discover or acknowledge.

Cynthia, who was standing behind Joe, let out a sigh of relief and was about to go forward to help her, but was preempted by Abel, "I'll do it."

He effortlessly lifted the immobile Jo with one hand and threw her a dazzling smile, "Don't worry Cynthia, this is just a small punishment, she'll be back to normal tomorrow."

The blood on the ground was a big puddle, Cynthia didn't believe it, but worriedly said: "Should I get her an apothecary? I can go to the city district now."

As soon as the words came out, except for Kael's strange expression, even Anthony standing at the stairs entrance let out a laugh, his shoulders shaking, trying to hold it in, "Lovely Cynthia, Joe's healing potion master can't keep up."

  "Alright"

How did they suddenly give her an illusion that only she was making a big deal out of small things.

It seems like everyone except her thinks this punishment is just a joke.

Watching Joe being taken away safely, Cynthia vaguely understood that the fallen angel was different from ordinary people and couldn't be compared in terms of injury.

She looked at Kayus, just in time to meet his mocking gaze.

"I'll be right back to read a book." Cynthia hastily avoided his eyes, ran to pick up the wallet on the ground and rushed out, "I had clothes made two days ago, I'll go get them and come back."

Having learned from past lessons, she ran with great care and only made small jumps as she walked.

It wasn't until she disappeared from view at the doorway that Kyrios let out a helpless, faint sigh on his high seat.

The elves outside the castle have been waiting for a long time.

As she saw Cynthia running out with her skirt flying, she spun around in mid-air, stepping on the tiny light points, and placed her hands on her chest, exaggerating her tone, "Oh dear, your golden hair really suits black, shining like a starry river."

"Thank you." Cynthia counted out 10 gold coins from the pouch in her hand and handed them over, "I'm a bit delayed, I've come to pick up my clothes."

"Of course, you should try it on first to see if the size is right. If there's a problem, I can still make adjustments for you." The elf suddenly produced a beautifully crafted wooden gift box from somewhere and handed it over to her, taking her gold coins in exchange.

"Are you going to try it on?" Cynthia took it and looked around, even though there were forests and stone walls everywhere, she didn't have the habit of undressing in public.

Her eyes were filled with hesitation and resistance, and what was on her mind was quickly understood.

"Don't take off your clothes." Her slender, pale hands fluttered in the air like a fairy godmother waving her wand for Cinderella.

Cynthia's dress began to change from the top, with tiny sparkles gradually evolving into a mainly red, layered black veil, gold-thread embroidered magnificent gown.

Her sleeves were made of delicate lace, a wide scalloped neckline and a tight-fitting bodice that exposed nearly half her bosom, layers of black gauze overlaid on the red skirt.

Cynthia just slightly turned, and the fine diamonds hidden underneath would refract light.

"My goodness, it's really too beautiful!" exclaimed Cynthia.

She used to have countless high-end dresses in her wardrobe, but none of them compared to this vintage dress.

The skirt looked thick but was actually light as a cicada. After spinning around twice, she thoughtlessly handed the money bag to the spirit and said, "I really like it, I still have many fabrics at home, can I ask you to make a few more everyday ones? In two days, I will send the fabric to your tailor shop."

"Of course, no problem, Lord Kael must have many private accessories, welcome to bring them together with me, I'll help you match them for free."

There isn't a woman who can resist beautiful clothes and jewelry, at least in Cynthia's case, she couldn't either, and got used to this luxurious life.

"I've already put the original skirt in a gift box, goodbye Cynthia."

  "Go slowly."

Both parties to this transaction were very satisfied.

Cynthia went back into the castle wearing her clothes and holding a box.

Caius was not in the front hall, but had returned to the study and sat behind the large yew wood desk.

She decided to take an active attitude and admit her mistake first, then try to make things right with him.

  Ahhhhhhh!
