Chapter 84: The Saintess Forever Has Only One

The bedroom was quiet and still, with no signs of anyone entering.

She lazily yawned, then rolled over on the bed hugging her quilt, her gaze also shifting from the ceiling to sweep across that office desk.

Her languid expression froze for a moment, thinking she had misseen it, and then turned back to look again, this time her body stiffened.

Caius sat behind the table, staring at her with a half-smile, his red eyes particularly striking.

Cynthia sat up in bed with a start, her tangled blonde hair framing her stunned face as she said, "You're back."

"Did you sleep well?" he asked calmly and emotionlessly.

"Uh, it's fine." Cynthia scratched her hair and adjusted her nightgown before lowering her head in embarrassment.

This feeling of being caught on the spot is really terrible.

It's quiet behind the table, Cynthia poked her head into the quilt and asked him, "What happened last night? You didn't come back until this morning."

"Only one pig came in," Kairos replied quietly.

  "Uh-huh"

Why does it feel like this sentence has a double meaning?

Cynthia grasped the quilt and whispered: "You're all gone, I couldn't sleep on my own bed, but your scent can make me sleep well for a while, so..."

She spoke softer and softer until her face was almost buried in the quilt.

Caius suddenly appeared like a ghost in front of the bed, his shadow enveloping her.

Cynthia raised her head and he had already leaned over, locking her firmly in his arms.

She was surrounded by his intense aura and didn't dare move, even hearing her own heart racing like a deer.

"What am I to you?" he asked calmly, his crimson eyes devoid of any emotional hue, only serious, inquiring her.

  Faith.

  No hesitation whatsoever.

He was her faith, a faith she had never trusted before.

Cynthia looked at those eyes and replied, "And I like it."

  "I like you, Kyrios."

Cynthia thought with a bit of sadness that although the progress bar had always been moving, he never said he liked her, perhaps not even reaching the level of liking yet.

  Too pitiful.

Kairos' gaze was very heavy, making Cynthia a little breathless. Her hands under the quilt were clenched together, feeling somewhat uneasy.

He slowly raised his hand, hooking a strand of Cynthia's golden hair with his fingertips, his voice as soft and gentle as a feather. "So, become my saint, abandon everything in Rydania, offer me all your loyalty."

From being a pet to becoming a saintess, it seems like I've changed, but nothing has really changed.

"Will there be any change in our relationship?" Cynthia asked.

Her soul will forever bear his mark, whether she is in this body or elsewhere.

Caius's lips curled slightly at the corners, and his eyes held an enigmatic light. "Not now, but you will possess the magic you crave."

She just knew that Dark Song was brainwashing her.

Cynthia pondered for a moment, then suddenly reached out and put her hand on his shoulder, her face almost touching the tip of his nose. "Will you only have me as your Holy Maiden? Even after your divine powers return, won't you make any changes?"

She must have eliminated any possibility of returning to Guangming Shen, or Minnie might take advantage of the opportunity.

"You're very greedy." Kael said so, but his face didn't show any annoyance.

"It's very greedy." Cynthia said with a calculating tone, "So, what is it, Lord Kyrios?"

He suddenly laughed softly and put his hands on her waist, "Books are indeed just a formality for you, your foolish brain can't hold any useful knowledge."

Caius pushed her onto the bed with his hand on her waist and stood up straight, walking elegantly to the door. "There can only be one Holy Maiden."

  Divine Light Progress: 40%

He closed the door and left Cynthia lying on his bed with a blank expression for a while before bursting out laughing.

Perhaps she could barely understand it as a special preference?

Since they all came back, Cynthia also got down from bed quickly, changed her clothes and went to the dining room for dinner.

As she walked down the corridor, she inadvertently glanced out of the stone window to see Ebur standing in the large open space in front of the castle, directing four or five mops and buckets that were automatically cleaning the floor.

Rinsing with some light green liquid.

She couldn't tell what it was either.

Anthony and Joe served the two as if nothing had happened, only in between, Anthony asked Kayus, "The school's hunting season starts the day after tomorrow, is it going to be the same as usual?"

"I'm going with Cynthia tomorrow." Kael said expressionlessly.

Anthony also had an expression of expectation and didn't say anything.

Only Cynthia was excited in the scene, she stared at Kyogre's happy appearance, which made Anthony describe it as if he couldn't wait to eat him up.

As she was going out for a few days, Qiao came to her house in the evening to help her pack and also brought several sets of light riding hunting suits.

"What is autumn hunting like?" Cynthia asked.

"The graduation ceremony of the East City Academy is nothing more than students relying on their divine arts to single-handedly kill a fierce beast." Qiao explained in a light tone, "As long as you stay by the adults' side, there won't be any problems."

Cynthia, a person with 0 combat power, naturally had to stick close to Kael.

Although Qiao spoke lightly, her face couldn't help but show concern. In her opinion, Cynthia's temper was really not compatible with being obedient.

"She emphasized, 'You can ask the adults to take you to see the rural scenery, eat some wild rabbit meat, watch a rural opera performance, just don't go and participate in hunting. You won't like the scene of lions having their necks twisted and intestines pierced.'"

"Under Kael's influence, the people here are all very rough. Cynthia thought about that scene for a moment and immediately kicked it out of her mind."

"Having too much comfort in life, when someone puts a knife to your throat, you can't even resist."

Cynthia nodded and gave Joe another hug, "I understand."

She let her go and curiously asked, "What were you doing when you went out last night? Kayus said a pig came in, what does that mean?"

"It's just a giant, nothing to worry about." Joe also glossed over the matter, and without Kyrios' order, Cynthia couldn't get a word out of her mouth.

She couldn't get anything out of him, so she gave up.

She slept soundly in her bedroom until dawn and then started getting dressed.

Qiao came over and told her they would go by horse-drawn carriage.

Cynthia thought it would be a direct teleportation array, "Antony as a coachman?"

Qiao shook her head, "No need, there are adults here, the horse knows the destination."

Cynthia: Sounds like it's really smart.
